I am 74 years old and must be so fortunate to put on my head phones and listen to such beautiful sounds. It does bring me to tears and I have no idea why, It has been a favorite of mine for many years, and I can get on my computer and enjoy this wonderful beauty any time I want. I AM SO LUCKY.

Is it possible to feel happy and sad at the same time?

This piece sounds like an ending of a chapter and a beginning of a new one; a moment of life and death, peace and war, joy and sorrow, and the feeling of becoming whole yet also empty. It's a feeling of both worlds - the feeling of satisfaction yet also wanting more. The achievement of understanding and not comprehending. It's a mystery and also a discovery. Indeed, it's such an exceptional piece which touches the contrasting aspects of humanity.

This is probably my favorite rendition... its even better than his run on the $250,000 piano and even the great Lang Lang. There's something here, heart soul, culimination of a life, of a channel... the recording is even special... there' s a great warmth, body to the piano. I even like the timing, cadence.

He’s playing such an emotional piece while staring emotionless at us

This was my grandfathers favorite song, we played it at his funeral. He lived to be 99 years old, born in 1901.

Wow. I’m learning Clair de lune and I’ve heard 40 different renditions and this is by far the most dynamic and nuanced version. Already liked you, now it’s love.

WHY DO I LIKE THIS SONG SO MUCH? I did not like this song. In fact, I did not like Debussy. There was a girl at the piano college I did (UNESP) who lived playing this song and was the teacher's darling. She avoided me. The girl did not like it when I played my Simpsons, Mario, India Jones and my classical music, and left the room when I played piano for the teacher. It was very unpleasant. And I got angry at this song and at Debussy. But a few years ago, I heard this song being played on the Simpsons and the Godfather, and I remembered this girl. Then, I bought a new piano (the one you see in the video and that plays alone) and guess what! My pianola played this song! And it came with a score book and had that song. I put the piano all the time to play alone for me, and every time I played this song, and I started to really like this song. I picked up the book and suddenly, I was playing it. Nowadays it is the music that I like to play. I play it every day. She is perfect to please others, and to do funny things while we play her long notes. That's the real reason I play this song so much.

whenever i listen to Clair De Lune, i imagine many things but if i have to choose few words to describe what it makes me feel, i would choose: childhood, heaven, god, magical, innocence, reality, dream, being alone, being with loved ones, deep consciousness and peace, etc

My absolute favorite piece! Reminds me of grass blowing in the wind, and my mother gardening in her many gardens... she passed away not long ago, both my parents now gone. So sometimes I have to brush away a tear when I hear this piece. I'm privileged to have had such wonderful parents.

If you have someone you miss and can no longer see, imagine this song as a chance meeting. Where you say your hello's, you exchange a few lines back and forth and by the time the song is over you would have had a full conversation, you'll be ready to say goodbye when song ends. This is not just music, this is a way to heal wounds left from words unspoken when they were needed. Truly a gift to all mankind this song.
