Tests aren't fun. Tests are full of pressure and stress. And nobody really ever wants to take a test, not typically. But there is one test that no matter how much pressure or stress, whether you are super prepared or just praying to pass, no mater what, somehow, you are looking forward to and excited to take. Your driving test!
It all starts with your drivers permit. Suhhloni was definitely looking forward to her driving test, excited, well-practiced, prepared and ready! And, even though she was nervous, she felt confident that she would pass.
She was doing great on her road test - no problems - and was almost done when her driving instructor from the DMV asked her to do one final driving maneuver, pull out into traffic, and of course, she couldn't get it right. She tried again - nope - and the third time was not a charm either. She failed.
Practice makes perfect so she practiced the maneuver again and again over the next weeks before her second attempt at passing the test, and this time it wasn't really her driving, it was the tester that got in her way. She was a total monster!
The third time she and her dad decided to go to a different DMV - who wouldn't - and this time she got a very sweet tester and did an absolutely perfect job.
Drivers license - check! Now THAT'S a storytime storybooth story.

I've never had to do a reversed turn onto a road in 12 years of driving. Here in Australia anyway, we aren't asked to do reversed turns onto another road in our tests. Looking at it here, that looks really dangerous and unnecessary. I assume we'd do a U-turn on a safe corner and simply come back to that road.

It should be mandatory for every examiner to smile and ask the learner how they feel when they show up for the test. This way the learner would feel much more relaxed and confident.

my sister failed the driving test and she has to do it again.
This actually makes me feel so much better because I failed mine yesterday for the same reason she failed hers the second time, but I'm not a bad driver at all.. the nerves took over my body :/ Ive been beating myself up over it but these mistakes happen for a reason. The exact same thing happened to me. I took mine yesterday. I'm normally so good at driving but it was raining hard and I had to take it in an unfamiliar town on a 4 lane and I couldn't think. My dad keeps making fun of me
Same here. I just failed today, and i was so upset, because i know im a good driver. The nerves just took over. But after hearing this and listening to her i feel a lot better. Humans werent born to drive, failure is the only way to learn!!

when i was 11 i drove my dads car on the beach and using the turn signals and such
matthewgaming123 you are actually so stupid if you think it’s “sooo easy”. you do realize that it’s not just a little control board that does everything for you and when problems come your way, it automatically just avoids the problem and gets you back to safety, right? people like you say that “oh, it’s so easy don’t worry about it!” and feel all confident about it, but when you’re faced with a problem you lose control and react in the worst way possible.

it is scary, but just know that you can always retake the test. you don't just have one shot.

I can totally relate. I failed my first driving test partly because I was a nervous wreck, and partly because my proctor was really stern and critical. She didn't do anything to put me at ease.
Oh man, I can relate to the story. When I first started driving, I was already super nervous but the drivers ed instructor I had was this kind old man who made it feel a lot better to drive. But then when I completed my six hours with him and had to start driving with my mom, the anxiety got even worse. She would yell at me for any mistake and get really annoyed, which just made the anxiety worse and made it more likely for me to make a mistake. It got so bad that one time I had to pull over to the side of the road because I was crying too much and she was sitting there screaming at me and saying that I was faking my reaction and claiming that I was only doing it to disobey her orders.

myself working as a garbage man. I rather give some advice instead of laughing when people fail. so here is my 5 tips.
tip 1. when driving. relax. take the time you need. do as your told. its okay to be nervous. however. if you fail. its okay to be dissapointed. so when you fail just get back up and try again. heck. I have heard about those who have tried almost 14 times. keep on trying into you make it.
Tip 2. when on the road for your test. try not to do hard breaking infront of bigger cars and bigger vichles. reason is because big cars like the dodge ram and any kind of truck. is bigger and takes longer to stop. another trucker friend of mine did actually rear end a school car because the learning driver broke too hard while being infront of a truck.
Tip 3. before your test. specially during the winter season. take a moment to control your lights and mirrors. I have experienced people driving in the dark with park lights. the scary thing about that. its dark outside and when you drive you dont see the car coming towards you before it almost crash with you. you dont want that. its a scary situation.
Tip 4. Before the test. ask for a slippery course. because a slippery course you will learn how to handle your car in winter conditions and even learn you how to correct over and under steer which may occour during winter season. in countries like Finland and Norway a slippery course is needed before you get your lisence. with winter driving. the number 1 thing to do is drive after the condition.
Tip 5. should you fail your test. accept the fact you made a few mistakes that caused you to fail. think positive and try again. dont give up after 2 tries. keep on trying into you get your license. keep on practicing and keep on trying.

I can totally relate to this ! my driving instructor didn't smile at all, she made me even more nervous and that caused me to make more mistakes than I thought I would, which really disappointed me because I practiced for a year and had grown confident in my driving ! Thankfully, it's over... and I passed !

i just took mine and my instructor was so so mean she literally slammed on the breaks and yelled at me like 3 times. yelling just makes me anxious and stressed so i wont do well after that. i get my results soon but probably failed because she was so mean.
Sometimes you just need a calmer and nice driver that makes you feel comfortable.
Sometimes you just need a little bit of practice and that's okay no one's perfect in that I and never give up always be happy of what you do even if you lose everybody is still wonder Nobody's Perfect in life

I failed the knowledge test a bunch of times. Then I passed and when to a driving school. After driving school I passed my test the first time. Now it’s been a year and I’m getting my Basic drivers license. Im so happy. After all the pain I dealt with it was all worth it. I have so much freedom! And I don’t need to wait for my parents anymore.

My sister actually experience this:
So one day my sister had driving test to do and after she did the driving test, she failed. And weeks later, she did another driving test but the lady she got was so mean to her and of course my sister didn’t past, and when she failed two driving test, she went home and started crying for hours, so she decided to take a break, took a lot more practice and waited for a few months.
Few months later, she got a another driving test to do and at the end of it, she passed it happily

I failed mine today, I felt so down and disappointed in myself...but I will try again, and try to pass it the second time!
Man I’m very fortunate to pass my drivers test the first time around and I was actually able to take it at my driving school (granted it was more expensive) and the instructors on my last couple of lessons actually took me on the course.

I had similar experience just yesterday where the man screamed at the top of his lungs at me when I was safely turning in a left turn lane. Then he screamed at me and called me stupid when I read a sign out loud that said "no left turn" when pulling out of a parking lot. He screamed "YEAH NO LEFT TURN. WHY WOULD YOU TURN LEFT!?!?!" . Im mortified of driving now.

When someone keeps yelling at me to do the right thing, I end up doing the opposite which makes me scared and nervous. I feel like people can do the right thing if they are not yelled at.

After 2 fails I finally got my license! It's pretty easy for the evaluator to fail you for simple mistakes so keep your head up if it happens. Failure doesn't necessarily mean you're a bad driver. Keep practicing and go at it again. You're bound to get someone who believes in you. But for me I took a step further by contacting a private license and professional dmv agent that helped me to write a provisional letter to bypass the test drive and i was given a provisional driver's license which will last for 12 months. I got a license now and it will serve for 1 year then I renew again.
My little advice.
* If you think are too nervous for the test drive then you can easily switch to a provisional driver's license which you won't need to test drive.
I'm gonna be 27 and still don't have my license because my family always keeps me inside the house. Luckily I applied for jobs to find my way out of this cage. They only taught me to drive i neighbourhoods and shame me for not getting a license like my younger cousin who's mom is less strict. I'm tired of it and am tired of my life being drained, I want to take action for my own life and am doing it slowly but believe soon I can at least get my license if I keep it up with studying and practicing but I don’t think I can cos I got a lotta work to do. Can you help?

My examiner gave me negative vibes when I did my test yesterday. When I was doing parallel parking I took a long time and accidentally touched the curb, she gave me the nastiest look and I thought I failed at that very moment. I did everything else perfectly and she said happy birthday and passed me. I was so relieved after that so yeah. I do not understand why most people at the DMV are rude.

I just took my test yesterday and here’s what happened:
Since everything with the covid-19 pandemic, everyone has been taking safety precautions to make things safer. I showed up to the DMV with my dad and checked in. Everything was going well until I saw the car I would be driving in. It had a thick plastic wall separating the instructor and I so I couldn’t even hear them. There was plastic covering all of the seats and my gears. It was so incredibly difficult to see anything. When I started my test, the driver and I moved out of the parking lot and began driving. Everything was going well until I drove to a corner and accidentally turned onto the other lane because I couldn’t see. He had to tell me that I messed up and directed me back to the dmv. I was/ still am so embarrassed and devastated because I know I’m a good driver from how many hours I practice. I just failed because of the new area I was in and the weird car with all the plastic and safety precautions
