Well, I hear what you are saying, but I think that it looks bogus. It is not styling, it is anti-styling. Apart from the lumps taken from other less than successful designs, it is typical of designs introduced when the brand has had a series of brilliant design masterpieces, and the current tranche of designers are simply not up to raising the bar. Many others have done this. I have no aspirations to own one either.
