MJ was actually 21 when he wrote that. I got the wrong age, but it’s the exact same point - especially since 70% of my audience is that exact age or older

I completely agree. Make whats authentic to you but also it needs to be consumable and subjectively good

I recently started watching your videos, and I have to say, they've been validating a lot of ideas I've had but wasn’t sure would work. Thanks to your insights, I’ve had some breakthroughs on TikTok, and now I feel inspired to refocus on growing my TH-cam channel. I had almost given up after working on it since 2021 and being stuck just below 2k subscribers. Looking back, I realize I didn’t niche down enough, even though I understood that helping others is the fastest way to grow on TH-cam. Moving forward, I want to focus on FL Studio and how to use it as a vocalist or singer-songwriter because that’s where my passion truly lies.

damn, i gotta lock in fr this was exactly what i needed to hear. If i can sell a gym membership it shouldn’t be too much different selling for myself and something i have passion for

100%! If you can sell a gym membership, you’ve already got the skills you need. The key is having that passion for what you’re offering - it makes all the difference when you’re selling something you truly believe in. Keep that mindset, and you'll crush it. You've got this!

people who are hateful are just offended and take it personally! taste is essential and developing your taste while finding yourself is important! if you want to have success in an "INDUSTRY" you got to play the game to an extent

Exactly! People who are hateful often just take things personally because it hits a nerve. Developing your own taste is crucial - it’s what sets you apart. And yeah, in any industry, playing the game is part of the process, but always staying true to yourself is what keeps it real. Keep pushing forward! 😌

When you provide value, value sometimes gets provided and return.

Bro I heard everything you said and appreciate it. 💯. But “my parents be me a lot, they’re African” 😂. The understanding of growing past trauma and just delivering the knowledge learned from the rest of life is gold 💪🏾

The examples they always use are so absurd lol even kendrick mixes pop and trap into his music bro lol like im tryna get my music heard idc about being broke and a purist nah thats an excuse for being unable to crack the code of how to be you but in a commercially viable package

If the Alchemist or Havoc or even Timberland produced what people like then we wouldn't have the music they made.. When Havoc brought his sound it wasn't around, when Timbo brought his style it wasn't around. There's a balance somewhere.

Timbaland literally stole something that was liked by people (his entire career is finding a popular sound from someone smaller and stealing it for his own) - th-cam.com/video/27RI8tWTUFs/w-d-xo.html . then, he stole from musicians and made fun of them because they couldn't make stuff that ppl liked - th-cam.com/video/NaJz9H1iTEk/w-d-xo.html . Your other examples are people who have commercially palatable styles and popular appeal, which is my entire point.
