8:10 DUDE this is literally me and it genuinely hurts, it's like one of my biggest regrets ever, I actually wasted thousands of hours playing this game for years barely having any friends at all, I cared so much about improving myself playing alone that I massively undervalued how important it is to be part of some group that shares the same interest as you, even if it's small, I play since 2016 but the first time I actually met a friend on osu! and joined a voice chat to talk on discord was 3 months ago. I never enjoyed being lonely but I had a constant unhealthy desire to focus on myself to improve more (really stupid way of thinking), after 4 years going on like this I'm just a 5 digit player with barely any social experience with this game lmao, if I could go back 4 years I would still want to improve, but in a very different way: joining multis once in a while, meeting people, joining their discords, etc, at the end of the day I would be way happier and would improve more too If you are a new player, DON'T waste your sanity playing this game all by yourself for so much time like I did, at some point put some effort into meeting people and you will have a way richer experience, it's not hard and it's actually pretty cool, join some multis or in-game chats and interact with people, that's it
I definitely fell into the hard map meme without building fundamentals first. I thought if I can pass these techy/mechanically difficult maps, I must be improving. However that all lead to frustration when I hit a wall and wasn't getting any more consistent since I was always barely clearing maps. Some months ago I stepped back and played easier maps, at first with the mindset of "DURR TWOO EASY" but then I definitely noticed consistency going up and progressively playing harder maps with good scores. Haven't done a new pp highscore in some months now but enjoying the game much more since there's less shit misses and retries.
4:37 Man i can't express how much i can relate to this.. nowadays I'm currently working towards my first 300 and already got like 5 6* FCs, whenever i see a low 6* i think it's somewhat doable
Spectating random players to get friends surprisingly works, I spectated a random guy close to my rank once 2 years ago, we still play multi sometimes :)
4:35 Yes.. I am usually scared of 6* maps and avoid them. I got no ambition or motivation to become better. 0:52 Waiting for a psycological analysis in an upcoming video.
more tips: Use double sided tape on your keys to make it easier and faster to lift up the keys (has to be sticky enough to stick to your finger but not sticky enough to get your finger stuck) 2: Play maps that are a star above your skill level with halftime (idk why more people dont do this but it helps with learning how to do streams and jumps)
Hello Verto I used to watch your videos as six digit when I was 1 month into the game, no I am close to 4 digit and you are my favorite osu content creator
My comfort zone is playing hard 7-9 star maps for fun, and out of my comfort zone would be to try and fc 6-7 star maps, i stopped trying to fc cause i always shit miss and that gets me frustrated. Well i guess i ll say bye to pp gains for a long time, i ll still try to increase my skill having fun on hard maps.
Me:I'll play multi for new maps and improvement (2-3 star player) Them: title 1 - 3 stars / reality 5+ stars Me: joins dies miserably but hey that made that other map look easy... My tip First play try getting to the end Second play improve score to B if possible Move on the the next lvl after u can easily get A on priori lvl or higher
Really great video tho there is 1 questionable thing in my opinion. 'Don't play maps where you don't know what is going on' I got the point but I am recently trying to play tech maps and it is hard to say do I know what is going on. I mean if I try to push my limits is it okay to just don't die at map? Also in these maps it is not possible for me at that moment to have acc at nearly 95% so does it mean I should not play maps like that and focus at easier ones?
How to improve osu skill: 1) dont enjoy game ever 2) play like 5 minutes once a week 3) play the same map never try any thing new 4) play map 7 stars above your skill level 5) profit
Emphasis on the play moderately part, i used to play like 6 to even 8 hours a day and while it might have paid off on improvement (or not), i got fucking rsi and had to stop playing for a while, i didnt even have bad habits that could be dangerous so playing way too much can fuck you up pretty quickly. Play smart and play with moderation
I'm 6 digit player but only doing 7+ maps because i'm not a bitch. Idc if i'm bad in the ranking but at least i provide better scores than a 4-5 digits xd

Your ‘find a rival’ point is probably the best advice out there.
3:55 I take this too literally
Suck

bro i’m exactly the same, stepped back and played a bunch of 5 star maps for a good while and noticed my consistency going up aswell
4:37 Man i can't express how much i can relate to this.. nowadays I'm currently working towards my first 300 and already got like 5 6* FCs, whenever i see a low 6* i think it's somewhat doable
I played relax mode and fc'd a level that I've been trying to complete for so long. I still mourn that to this day
Spectating random players to get friends surprisingly works,
I spectated a random guy close to my rank once 2 years ago, we still play multi sometimes :)
how do u spetate others?
I rarely play the game anymore though it's nice to see a new verto video

I dont push myself beyond my limits
Also me: skips 5 stars up to play 6 stars.
No. Body. Fucking. Cares.
verto thank you for giving me genetics !
You what's nice when you enjoy game but literally no one else in your town does
Hello Verto I used to watch your videos as six digit when I was 1 month into the game, no I am close to 4 digit and you are my favorite osu content creator
I recently picked osu back up aftering decaying to 50k after like 7 months. Forgot how good your videos are as well, god damn man. Love you.
Why did I think of a certain necromancer at 9:41
Oh right, another one claimed by the rabbit hole I guess
One time i didn't even warm up i literally just woke up, load up osu and got an fc on my first try lol, i guess i got lucky? idk
I strive for only one thing... Get number 1 in the name of my waifu.
No more motivation needed
local osu player teaches you the fundamentals of playing (ASMR)
stable breathing during high intensity maps helps stay in flow state or just a state that lets you keep good focus
i was once taking a small break, about 3 days iirc, and i forgot how to grip a pen
this makes me want to make my own discussion video
That sasaki crossfade killed me man
7:00 can't do it, i have no friends :D
also i pulled a cookiezi. (timewarp self ban lol)
Also maybe its just me but I've been playing nonstop for a year with no breaks and i feel like taking a break is detrimental
I always regret taking a break longer than a day.
