- Because Hahnemühle discontinued my favourite watercolor paper( the Cezanne) (thanks @UTleochi for telling me about that!) I’m on a mission to find new watercolor paper. I bought the watercolour selection pad to try all kinds of different paper.
In this video I’ll review Hahnemühle ‘the collection 300 gsm)watercolor paper.
Will it be my new favourite?

What’s your favorite watercolor paper?😊
In australia "The Paper House" Watercolour Paper is great, and it's also relatively "cheap", I guess? I don't know your currency but is costs 40AUD for 50 sheets, which are cold pressed and 300GSM. They handle washes well and cope with a wide variety of techniques. It's most likely not available in areas other than Europe (because they're manufactured in Europe, and shipped to Australia). 😊
Oh I never heard about that one, I will have a look! That sounds like good value for money👍

@@ChantelleArts I like the coldpress from arches!(I also have the hotpress, but somehow I can’t get good results with that one. Which is probably because of me and not the paper😅). The Khadi sketchbooks look lovely (looked it up) 😊
@@StudioEstherillustration Quick question - how do you use tracing paper? I've had some lying around for a long time and I haven't found any tutorials on how to use it :P

Such a lovely painting! 😍 And thank you for the review. On a side note, I really enjoyed that you slowed down the pace of your video. There are so many timelapse videos out there, they are driving me crazy 😅 So hectic content in an already hectic world

I feel your pain, I used to love using Clairefontaine cloud texture 100% cotton paper 😭 This was really fun to watch!

Oh, and the Torchon gsm rough albeit not a cotton paper is surprisingly pleasant to paint on. You can even get nice detail, too. If you live in Europe you might have access to Hahnemühle’s „Anniversary Edition“ of the same paper at 425 gsm for a quite fair price.
The torchon looks really nice, so that would be great:). I looked at your work on DA, very lovely works you have! Love how you did the eyes on ‘poppies’. And The older inktober stuff was cool too! Now I’m going to look at the watercolour paper review😊

I must confess I hardly have time to paint watercolours these days and I really miss it! :D Therefore I need to vicariously watch lovely WIPs like yours, so as to have at least a little bit of watercolour in my life.
Your artwork is just amazing! 😍 I have recently bought Full size sheets pack of 10 Hahnemühle Expressions 300gsm CP watercolor paper, as Full size sheets costs comparatively little less than the blocks and we can cut in any desired size and work on it.. So this is my first ever professional paper i have used for watercolor illustration 🙂 i was impressed by the Hahnemuehle customer service and been watching many artists on youtube using this brand, but the variety of sheets that they have, made me little confused as to which one to pick, so one executive advised me to go for Hahnemuhle Expressions, and no doubt im enjoying working on it but in one video there was an artist who mentioned this as a "Students grade" Paper 😰 i have no complaints regarding the paper so far but this little detail i believe should be cleared out by the brand on their website itself.. And i really appreciate that they have Selection packs of sheets available, i will definitely buy this selection pack next time so that i can differentiate b/w the paper range provided by this brand 😊❤
Thank you so much! I think I will try the Expressions paper next, I’m very curious about it:). Buying full size sheets is smart! I really like this selection pack, because it’s such a shame to buy a new watercolour block only to find out you don’t enjoy the paper😅. Saves money and space this way (I already have too many art supplies haha)
@@StudioEstherillustration i totally agree 💯 and i would recommend only to buy if you are going to use a single type of paper alot! Then only it makes sense.. it's an investment for me at first but for the long run I think I have enough stocked up 😁

Really useful, thanks so much! I love Hahnemuhle cotton paper too. I think mine is the "Expressions" paper. I wish they did a hot-press cotton paper though.

It has a lovely surface but I haven't tested it for durability yet, just loose washes. (By the way, this painting of the lil burdie is adorable!)

I’m curious too!😊 The first one was really nice:) I have the Agave watercolor paper, but the rest is new to me as well!
