I would like to thank you for giving me the tutorial for my Christmas gifts this year. I have a box of clear glass ornaments that I had not figured out what to do with. Now I know. I want to save some money, as this has been an expensive year for us, and these will do perfectly. I love your tutorials, not just because they are easy to understand. I love them because everytime I watch them I am able to do the technique without trouble. Thank you so very much. You have no idea what great things your tutorials do for me and others like me.
I am so happy they are helpful, thanks so much for taking the itme to leave me this lovely comment 🙂 And do keep watching as I ahve a few ideas this year for new ornamants too 😉
Fiona I want to Thank You for sharing these videos. I spent time with one of my grand daughters today and she made the leaf cane. Her first cane ever. She was so thrilled with the way it came out and I have to give you all the credit.. Your videos are so straight forward and so easy to follow. I love them. Thank You again you made it a amazing time with my grand daughter.
Oh wow, that has just warmed my heart, how wonderul, thanks so much for telling me Sherri, I have that image in my brain now, and it is making me smile - thanks so much :)
@@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals you are so very welcome. I want to make sure you know your videos are so helpful to so many people. I love your videos and you certainly inspire me not to give up on caning. I am not very good at it but you always inspire me to keep trying. Thank you so much. Happy Holidays.
As a huge purple fan, that bauble is just gorgeous. I do like how you always show different colours and versions of the project. This is a great idea especially for those who have trouble with colour theory.💜
Thank you for sharing your ideas with us. For me it is a Christmas gift from abroad. Merry Christmas and a happy new year!! Καλά Χριστούγεννα from Greece.
Thanks so much Amanda, although it is the festive season, as someone already pointed out, these would look good for all seasons of the year, as the colour choices make all the difference :)
I love that you’ve figured out an even easier way to layer veins in a leaf cane. Your mind is so clear. Your persistence tremendously admirable. Your problem solving skills so much fun to experience on this end. And then you put color and creativity into what you do. As a recipient - Thanks!
Wow! These are gorgeous!!!!! Definately keepsakes and wonderful gifts for those precious people in our lives! Your creations would be great for sharing....so much time and talent....💜💜🌟
Oh my finally... I found a bauble I want to make... These are super pretty... Good job here... I did paint a few but I love clay so ya if I make. Good one I maybe will post to you. Thanks awesome idea!!!! Keep an coming!
Thank you for this wonderful tutorial Fiona 🤗. I love the way you demonstrate wrapping the bauble so that there is no overlap. It’s so beautiful with the silver leaf. Everything you make is flawless and so artistic. Thank you again for sharing your amazing creative talent with us. The leaf cane is extraordinary ❤️
I have a definite feeling this comment was meant for someone else ;) but having done that myself a few times, it simply made me smile ;) Happy holidays :)
Wow Fiona, you are an amazing, talented crafts woman. I am just starting out my polymer journey and these baubles are such a delight. I am a jewellery beader and have loved the polymer idea for a while but it all seemed so complicated (like beading is not 😂). You have made this new crafting process so simple and have encouraged me to have a go myself, I'm so excited I can't wait for the clay and tools to arrive. Thank you for your dedication and generosity to share your skills, brilliant design ideas and the simplicity and conciseness of your instruction, I've been mesmerised and can see I will be spending a lot of time on your channel 💖 I wonder if you could use hotfix crystals instead of the chaton type- let me know if you think this would work also? Thanks again 👏
I am so glad you are enjoying the videos and are going to have a go yourself, have fun when you do, don't stress about it and go with the flow of your project 🙂 yes, I checked online, having not used them myself, and Ginger of The Blue Bottle Tree says you can attach and then bake hotfix crystals on Polymer Clay 😃 and if anyone knows then it is Ginger - here is a link to her article on it - thebluebottletree.com/can-you-bake-crystals-in-clay/#:~:text=But%20a%20really%20great%20way%20is%20to%20use,tiny%20dab%20of%20Bake%20and%20Bond%2C%20then%20bake. I hope that helps, and you have heaps of fun with your polymer clay designs. 🙂
Fiona, you have outdone yourself with this one! These are the prettiest Polymer Clay decorated Christmas ornaments I have ever seen! Thank you for the tutorial!! For the chatons, you can use Poly Bonder to make sure they stay put long-term. It's an instant super glue type product that can glue raw polymer clay to non-porous items such as glass and metal. Good up to 300 degrees F/149 degrees C for baking the clay and holds securely.
@@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals Thank you! Yes, just pushing chatons or any stones in w/o glue is iffy at best for durability unless you have clay over the edges or glue them. You also can just make the dents for the stones with a like sized tool and glue them in after baking instead too.
@@Soifdesang9 Yes both of those techniques are great :) With these, because the little ball of clay is relatively thick, you do get that slight overlap of the clay which holds them in, or if not, as you so rightly say, just glue them in afterwards, I have used these methods in previous videos where I use the Chatons - I just love the sparkle that they give in polymer clay projects :)
Absloloutly stunning!!! i love all your videos ive watched them loads i usually click the play all button lol! Have a great Christmas and Happy New Year when it comes xxx
Fiona, your ornaments are absolutly beautiful!!!!!! I would love to make them but where I live nobody has a tree big enough to use anything but maybe 1/2" bulbs!!!! Oh well next year is another year!!! Happy holidays to you and your family!!! May this next year be a much better year for all! Hugs and a big thank you for such another wonderful video!! Bye
Thanks so much Vicky - maybe just gather a collection of the baubles together and hang them as a decoration in their own right? Happy Holidays to you too :)

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Fiona. I don't celebrate Christmas but after watching your tutorial I made an ornament. How come after watching your video no one get the urge to get on work and create something beautiful. Your work is amazing and thank you so much for putting so much effort in making these detailed videos. I love to watch your videos over and over again and I learned so much from you. One question if you get time, do we need to seal this ornament? Have a wonderful time with your family. Take care and stay safe ❤
Thank you Faiza :) Funnily enough someone else asked this exact question ;) I think that because it is an ornament and not going to get a lot of handling it wouldn't really need to be, but you can of course if you wish. If it was an item of jewellery or an art piece that was handled often, then yes, a simple coat of polymer clay varnish or sealant would be a very good idea :)
These are awesome. Tried making and surprised how easy to cover bulb. One question- because of the metal leaf does this need to be sealed after baking?
Thank you :) Because it is an ornament and not going to get a lot of handling I wasn't going to. If it was an item of jewellery or an art piece that was handled often, then yes, a simple coat of polymer clay varnish or sealant would be a good idea :)
I would suggest using a medium thick setting, try experimenting with small amounts of clay and see if there is a certain setting on your machine that works well. I do not know if setting 2 or 5 is thicker on your machine, but try with the second thickest setting, then the third. The main thing is for you to cut your clay into nice thin strips, so that whichever setting you choose you do not put too much stress on the pasta machine. I hope that helps :) I take it you have watched my conditioning polymer clay tutorial that is linked in the information below this video? :)
You have such a comforting way of teaching. Thank you for sharing your wisdom.
Thank you so much, that is a lovely compliment 🙂
