A session like this definitely feels like how 2021 has been for me, overall. A few nice wins here and there, but mostly things like this. Make good moves, only to run into the tippity top of their range. Get out-run on turns and rivers. Having the right hand in the wrong spot...etc. Keep grinding, Mariano. You are so good, that these sessions are merely speed bumps on your way to sustained poker success.
Yes sir. I can relate. Have flopped 5 sets in the last month and lost 4 of them. Takes a long time to grind back thousands in equity. Gl to you though!
Like you said ….it was only a “bad poker session “ !!! This is the first time you lost in your last 14 videos so I think it will not impact too much your bankroll . Reset your mind and good luck in the future . Thank you and be safe !!!
The problem for most poker players is that there losing sessions are much bigger then the value of there winning sessions. People will win in the hundreds to low thousands but will lose 1000 + on a bad session.
People don't get it. You have to have big losses now and again; because if you play good poker which is well timed aggressive poker your going to lose sometimes and when you do it's usually not for small amounts as of your style of play dictates. Mariano seems to play pretty tight, he will bluff just not that often, at least not what I perceive to be often. Thus his winning sessions are going to be smaller but more consistent as a more aggressive style will win bigger just less frequent as the tighter player. Hope I described what I was trying to convey in a somewhat relatable manner.
Mariano, I play the $1-3 and $2-3 at the Bicycle casino in Los Angeles. I’m trying to widen my raising range but it’s difficult because there’s a $120 / $300 max buy-in, respectively. I’d love to see how you and Rampage do and play in those circumstances, next time you guys are out here. A lot of your viewers would learn a lot from seeing how you guys play with those caps.
All of my girlfriends throughout my gambling career never smiled like that after a loss of any size, they even got mad when I won because I didn't win more! 😩

I'm just amazed at how infrequently villains flop sets against over pairs or other big hands in all these poker vlogs here on youtube. It used to happen to me all the time when I was playing a lot. I'm also amazed at home many huge pots are won with 1-pair hands. I can count on 1 hand the amount of $400+ pots I won playing $1-2 with just 1 pair.
That early pocket aces hand is a big example of why I don’t like buying in at the max amounts. The $320 preflop raise seems huge. But with another $3000 behind, it’s a nightmare situation if you get out-flopped. Your opponent likely put you on aces when he called the additional $260 preflop knowing he could likely stack you off for the other $3000 if he hits his set
Man I feel the pain. My last two sessions I got hammered with horrendously bad luck. I was felted Saturday when I flopped a set of kings and my villain turned a set of aces. Then yesterday it was my two pair running into sets, culminating in Aces over Kings on the flop getting drilled with a set of 4's on the flop. Some days the run bad just makes you it's bitch.
Thanks for showing us that even very good players lose. You don't have to punt or be on tilt to lose either. Sometimes, it's just "in the cards" and variance is against you. Great video as usual and keep up the solid analysis and honesty!
For the fun of it. I have a question to everyone on the AA ALL IN losing hand. Let say the only two types of hand that opponent could possible have are set and flush draw with a pair ( no A of spades ). What is the percentage of those two types hand that would make Mariano's call break even ( 0 EV )? 20/80 30/70 40/80 50/50 60/40 70/30 80/20 Can you do it in a minute or 2?

Your opponent had top pair with another that's third pair, but might have folded had you went all in (or a very large bet) when seeing the third to the flush come out, as he wasn't blocking anything either.

The AA’s hand felt like a fold on the flop in all honesty if I was online for 300bb. Most folks are not raising 120bb on the flop and firing for 200bb after a call with the A high flush draw (only viable bluff I can put him on) when you are screaming that you have AK/KQs/KK’s from your pre flop action/flat call. I have a question to you. The 5/10 you lost with AA, the way you played is pretty much standard for you. But if the stake is much higher relative to you bankroll, at what point you will play a little different. 1/200, 1/100, 1/50, 1/25, 1/10 of you bankroll. I think the turn ALL IN call is one of the situation that people can't get away even if they believe it is a -EV call.

Tough session, but nice drone shot of the gigantic Chevron :)
best poker vlogger on youtube. thanks for sharing mariano
Click the thumbs up if you watch, don’t be a mooch. Costs nothing to like. Great job again Mariano. Just shitty that you lost but happens.
Sry for the loss but love your content. Keep up the good work!
Aria is a beautiful casino with a very nice poker room.
Rough session man.
Don't feel you could have done anything differently either.
😂 you are joking right?
@@scotttavernier720 are not trying to pretend you’d fold aces there?
@@josephadcock7449 yeah thats a fold LOL. One pair vs all in??????????? Plus there was also the failed attempt at a bluff…
Snap fold the straight there?
Ez fold against the dude with a laptop/mouse
Yo what’s the buyin gonna be for the 5/5 Hustler meetup?
$1k cap
I use to hate his vlogs then I kept watching over and over and now I fucking love it
Bro why does homie on your left got a mouse on the table?
Lol you know damn well she is thinking...that buy in could have bought my engagement ring
Mariano, you're the best
As we all know, you can’t win every session played. Chalk it up to a little payback for all your recent fortune. Your lady is lovely, so enjoy your good fortune outside the poker room.
Always rooting for you , interesting to see you get punished on the 6k pot as in viewing most the time you have such good runs , at days end. Can't cry too much with such a sexy lady on ur hip 🤷🏼♂️
Is the small blind in the KTh hand playing with a computer mouse at 8:40? 😅
I think they saw you coming and you failed to adjust. Just my humble observation. Love your channel
"Cheers"
Okay gotta ask, wtf is the guy next to you doing with a mouse on the poker table??
I predict you and rampage will get invited to every big game from now on after punting
I appreciate watching a losing session after my losing session today. Good video man.
Ive seen you fold aces before which was the right decision in the past. When a "Blaster" puts all in to get your chips get out of your emotion's and into your rational brain and you will fold before the " player" takes all your chips.
What's with the dude with the mouse on your left?
Some people think it's okay to bring a laptop and mouse to the poker table
Was he tracking hands while he was in session??? That seems pretty bad form to me.
HI MARIO BOY ..GOODLUCK IN HUSTLE ..GOOD RUN
Vlog 90! Wow. Rough go of it. Still enjoyed.
Game flow is a thing, and when your opponents watch the vlogs, they might be responding accordingly to the Mariano they see on TH-cam... *ShiftingGearsIsParamountKiddo *YourGeniusMindMustSeeThis *Keep'EmGuessin'Homey *CounterPunchTheirFacesYoungBlood *OhhEmmSeeTheTruthSomeTimes
Mariano is human after all.
when your girl is not effected over a $6,000 spanking....@14:32
Next time 💪💪💪
ok. so i couldn't tell what the player on your left had till the 8:38-9:00 minute mark. who the hell brings a mouse to a poker game and then sits there and clicks on it!!??
This is why I stopped playing poker literally the wins and losing amounts vary sure the “high” probability hands win but the action never is the same. Too many bad beats with more money losing than the hood hands we’re winning
I wouldn’t ever bring a girlfriend to a poker table unless they really understand poker. You can psych yourself out if they ask how you’re doing and you say down $6k. Of course if you’ve been together for a bit and they kind of understand variance then it’s cool and nice to have a supportive partner
true pro. sitdown 1 hour just to watch.
should be "favorite person"?
What was with the guy in the 9 hole using a mouse?
