He is literally the only reason the rest of the film happens at all. Without him they get away with the money, never even encountering the main characters. Now how long it would be before these dysfunctional criminals started killing each other for a bigger cut of the money is a whole other question, but the initial robbery would have been a success.
Love that FBI agent, he knew he was a goner, and decided to dish out some pain. With one clip he got the rouge pilot, an enemy sniper and put the baddies plane out of action. What a legend! You simply don’t just step on this guy’s nice wrist watch and get to walk away...😎
I loved that stunt. Ditto for several of the Bond films, as well. I've yet to see digital effects that can replicate a man who's actually willing to risk his life to create a scene in a movie. And I respect anybody who will voluntarily go way up in the sky...My primary phobia is heights, and I simply cannot imagine...

Great, exciting movie. Don't mean to sound like Cinemasins, lol, but right before the plane explodes, the agent turns around and hears the bomb beeping. How could he have possibly heard it, being way back in the plane with back wide open with all that loud air rushing?
Now I’m no thief expert or nothing. But wouldn’t it been easier to parachute off the plane with the money instead of trying to transfer it between two moving planes in the air?
Possibly however, consider the course of the flight. They were flying over extremely hostile terrain which wouldn’t be ideal to parachute into. The plan was a good one. Travers should have been sure to kill everyone on the plane that wasn’t in on it.

Knowing the wind, the danger of having two jet planes that close together because of turbines. I read the behind the scenes of this stunt. They couldn’t even perform it because it was too dangerous. They use good editing to make it look like they accomplished it.

Allied bombers in WW2 sometimes flew over the Alps, often to bomb Italian targets, but it was tricky, making sure they were high enough not to crash into a mountain, and bailing out in an emergency was impossible until they reached flatter terrain.
Travers was smart but they could’ve killed him on the plane after they got the cases but I nvr understood if the other 2 fbi agents were in on it & travers betrayed them too or if they just didn’t trust the fbi agent when he sd traves was high jacking the plane
They were all in on it except the FBI agent and the Co-Pilot. But only Travers and the Main Pilot were planned to make it out alive. Main pilot knew this because once Travers took everybody out, that was his cue to take out the co pilot. Then the two of them would make it out of the jet with the money.

The blonde woman in this clip is lovely, she was also Michael Douglas' wife in the movie where Demi Moore tries to double cross Douglas and has a one-night stand with him.

It's the special effects definitely. I've been watching a few new films on TH-cam (bugger knows how they're still up) and action scenes are so chock full of nothing but endless wall to wall CGI, constant ridiculous breaking of physics, nothing had any weight or gravity and everything is no big deal. Anyone know what other movie the plane crash was used in? I can't remember anymore and it's been bugging me lately:( It was funny, around the time Cliffhanger came out on tape (remember those? Lol!) I watched it, then I watched another movie a few days later (or a few days before) and I remember thinking, 'ugh this plane crash looks the same as that movie', so I rewatched the scene from the other movie, and they ARE the exact same! But crash only. I thought at the time it was weird that Sly Stallone wb in a movie that would have bought a stock scene, but now that I know they paid the aerial stunt guy $1M for his plane transfer, I'm thinking they either bought the plane crash (or sold it) to save/make money somewhere else since they spent soooooo much on that 1 stunt, so it makes more sense now! But its been f'ing bugging me that I can't remember what movie it is!!!! I thought it might be Vertical Limit or Extreme Ops, but scrolled through them both & didn't see a plane crash. Any help or ideas???

Now I’m no thief expert or nothing. But wouldn’t it been easier to parachute off the plane with the money instead of trying to transfer it between two moving planes in the air?
Possibly however, consider the course of the flight. They were flying over extremely hostile terrain which wouldn’t be ideal to parachute into. The plan was a good one. Travers should have been sure to kill everyone on the plane that wasn’t in on it.
@@MrShandy123 Sure movie logic wise. They made it look simple. But real life logic. It’s practically impossible. Knowing the wind, the danger of having two jet planes that close together because of turbines. I read the behind the scenes of this stunt. They couldn’t even perform it because it was too dangerous. They use good editing to make it look like they accomplished it.

Allied bombers in WW2 sometimes flew over the Alps, often to bomb Italian targets, but it was tricky, making sure they were high enough not to crash into a mountain, and bailing out in an emergency was impossible until they reached flatter terrain.

They were all in on it except the FBI agent and the Co-Pilot. But only Travers and the Main Pilot were planned to make it out alive. Main pilot knew this because once Travers took everybody out, that was his cue to take out the co pilot. Then the two of them would make it out of the jet with the money.

Anyone know what other movie the plane crash was used in? I can't remember anymore and it's been bugging me lately:(
It was funny, around the time Cliffhanger came out on tape (remember those? Lol!) I watched it, then I watched another movie a few days later (or a few days before) and I remember thinking, 'ugh this plane crash looks the same as that movie', so I rewatched the scene from the other movie, and they ARE the exact same!
But crash only. I thought at the time it was weird that Sly Stallone wb in a movie that would have bought a stock scene, but now that I know they paid the aerial stunt guy $1M for his plane transfer, I'm thinking they either bought the plane crash (or sold it) to save/make money somewhere else since they spent soooooo much on that 1 stunt, so it makes more sense now!
But its been f'ing bugging me that I can't remember what movie it is!!!! I thought it might be Vertical Limit or Extreme Ops, but scrolled through them both & didn't see a plane crash.
Any help or ideas???
