Today's action movies are nowhere near as great as the ones from the 90s. Terminator 2, True Lies, Con Air, and this movie are why the 90s action movies are great just to name a few.

Despite the outdated models and CGI effects, this is one of the best action movies from the 90s; very entertaining.
Today we have tech - minus the emotion, feelings, heritage and heart that we see in the older movies. Some Chipotle kid will spew lines and the high tech effects will be great. No thanks
To tell you the truth I think the effects in this scene hold up pretty well even by today's standards. Given the circumstances

@@Subhasis44597 the latest tech from Motorola, it has no need for a screen, where you can feel the numbers as you dial them, and you just need to speak into it whom you want to talk to and you will be connected. Super expensive though and still a prototype, that’s why you only see it used on Air Force one

I miss 90's cinema. It had a magic that just doesn't exist anymore. Going to the movies was an actual treat where you didn't know what was coming unlike today which is full of reboots, remakes, and adaptations. I miss original American cinema!

When I first saw this movie back in the 1990’s I was rooting for AirForceOne success. Harrison Ford, always delivers.

If any president ever made such a badass move, he'd be elected forever.
His fighting style is suspect. Needs to learn to hit faster. Those wind-up right-crosses look cool on film, but are a tactical weakness. Quick jabs and don't give the guy an opportunity to get in on you. Uppercuts and right crosses should be finishing moves. Also, don't go for the face, you're just gonna break your hand on the guy's skull. Soft tissue hits are the best. Groin, diaphragm, sternum, cheeks around the jaw line.

This might be the first and only movie I've seen in my 30 years that has the code word "Fox Three" (for active radar homing missile launch) AND the correct countermeassure (Chaff instead of the cooler looking flares, that would have been totally useless) right in one scene.

although the missile lock indication sounds like an infrared tone though right? or is that tone also for fox 3s… unfamiliar
@@kevintreehan4100 Technically there shouldn't be any tone-based lock indicator for FOX 1 or 3. The indicator for a radar missile is a proportional circle on the HUD, representing the probability of kill. The larger the circle, the higher the P(k). If the circle fills the entire HUD, the target is within MAR - it is impossible for the target to avoid the missile without deploying countermeasures.

The brevity calls are all wrong, and the missile tone is from a sidewinder, not an AMRAAM, and Fox 3 is a brevity call for firing an AIM120 or BVRAAM such as a Meteor.

they didn't nessecarily have to release Raddick, they could've done what the general said, if any more hostages die, Raddick gets released into the upper atmosphere, the terrorists have no leverage and they could force them to land.
If they did that, they would run the risk of the hijackers killing the First Family. The President would likely never forgive them for that.
@@oliverconway6960 they could also just destroy the plane, killing the terrorists and their leverage, it would be controversial but it would prevent them from having to release Raddick.
also as i said, only if any more hostages or someone from the first family dies would they issue this threat? is this technically terrorism? maybe but when all else fails, you take their goal out of the picture they usually will have to conform to your demands.
