    Lower Buffer/Block Size = Less Latency + More Pops/Clicks
    Higher Buffer/Block Size = More Latency + Less Pops/Clicks

    Can you go listen to the Song I just posted and tell me how to eliminate the clicks and pops?. It sounds I dreadful white noise. It is not clear

    A great video. Some times I have to render MIDI tracks audio to manage CPU load. Especially using some 3rd party vst's.

      Great point! Freezing tracks, disabling plugins, and bouncing tracks is a great workaround when you’re in a pickle 😁

    Great video. Quick question. I have a MB Pro M1 Max (32 GB ram / 1TB SSD). I am also using a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (3rd generation). For some reason, my midi is always off when recording midi notes with my Akai MPK. That’s even with Auto Quantize set. What am I doing wrong? My buffer is set to 128 (sometimes 64). Running S1 6.5.2. Please help.

      @heychrisgreen  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmmm 🤔 there’s a lot that could be going on.. is your quantize set to 1/8, 1/16, etc? I would guess 1/8 would be the way to go for the most part. Your setup and gear is great I am quite sure it’s a setting gone wrong somewhere. There is a “delay compensation” you can look into, might want to disable that or make sure it’s not causing problems. I don’t work for Presonus so my knowledge is limited to my experience 😅 Let me know if anything fixed it! Not sure I’ve seen that issue before

    Thank you so much for these videos!! I bought my scarlett in like 2015 but have been to overwhelmed about how to start. But theese kinds of videos gets me very good platform to start with!
    Just a question. My soundcard settings in studio1 is set to 512 samples BUT i cant change the sample rate? its stuck in 44.1 khz and there isnt any other options

    • @heychrisgreen
      @heychrisgreen  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching! Usually you can adjust the sample rate when you go to create a new session, or I believe there is a specific software from Focusrite that you can use if running Windows. Look for an “F” icon on your taskbar at the bottom right. Make sure your Scarlett is listed as your audio device in studio one, sometimes it switches to built in audio if you’ve unplugged. I hope one of those helps! 🙏

      @@heychrisgreen Yeah I navigated to that Focusrite control panel. There I could actually change to 48khz but it automatically changes it back to 44.1 again? :( When i select 48khz it just reverts back to 44.1

      @@MikaelKonradsson here’s a forum tossing around the same issue. I’m thinking try the RELEASE AUDIO DEVICE IN BACKGROUND setting to start.. there’s multiple people with similar issues and a few solutions here:

    I have a quick question that I cannot get sorted out. After recording a track with the low latency monitoring, I am unable to hear the recorded track if monitoring is enabled. I have to disable my monitoring to now hear the recorded track ( I hope that this makes sense ). The issue with this is that you cannot punch in because you have to disable the monitor button which makes it impossible to monitor yourself when you are punching in. Do you have any tips on what I should do? Is there a step that I am missing.

    • @heychrisgreen

      Right! So that does make sense and I can understand the frustration. Just to be upfront, I don't work for Presonus but here's what I might do in your shoes..
      I would duplicate whatever track you are punching in. Use the slice tool to cut and delete/mute the punch in region you are working on.. then I would use the newly created/duplicate track to record with while I am monitoring the old track.
      There is probably a workaround someone else can chime in with but that's all I have for now! Hope it helps!

      This is my other account. I figured it out…. Click the wrench above the tracks in upper left hand corner. Check in monitoring mutes playback tape style. You can now hear everything and punch in. You MUST turn off monitoring on your audio track.

      I should add if you want to practice and just click play without recording, you must monitor the channel.
