I didn’t even know people hated Ice Age. The sequels, maybe, but the FIRST one? (I personally loved the first three, I haven’t seen the ones after.) I work with kids and I still reference “Where’s the baby? … THERE HE IS!” with them ALL. THE. TIME.
I personally liked the first Happy Feet better, but the second one wasn’t bad.

The second and third were pretty well liked where in live too. After that I think people got annoyed by all the sequels and felt like the franchise was being milked for all its worth.
"Stop hey hey what's that sound, all the mammoths are in the gr~ound" is permanently burned into my memory. Along with "were you killed?" "Sadly yes.. but i lived!"

How can anyone hate ice age?! That franchise is amazing! And it's my childhood! I agree with you! I enjoy every single one of the ice age films!
There's a lot of films that I love, but a lot of people hate them. For example, movies like ruby gillman teenage kraken and the live action clifford movie. Half of the people didn't like them because they didn't do so hot on rotten tomatoes or the box office. But there are people who somewhat actually enjoy them. But for me, I ADORED them! I just LOVE cute animated all-audience movies. If it looks cute and fun, i'm probably gonna be interested in it.

All of these films: Sinbad, We are Back a Dinosaur Story, Ice Age, Happy Feet & Ledgend of the Guardians. These are all films I personally enjoy and would watch multiple times. Its up there with other films like: The Iron Giant, Atlantis, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. Like these movies are the ones I had in VHS and just have playing over and over. 3:06 Speaking of Ice Age, one of my all time favorite movies from the same studio, Ferdinand, is one I enjoy that most either don’t like or are indifferent towards. Doesn’t help that Ferdinand was overshadowed by Star Wars, Jumanji and Greatest Showman when it was initially released.

WBADS was a truly impressive film for its time, beautifully animated. A bunch of animated movies from the late ‘80s and early ‘90s were, in whole or in part, set in NYC, but this one fits the city’s vibe the most. Before there was Hogarth Hughes in The Iron Giant, there was Louie. He’s basically if you took Hogarth and made him wittier, tougher, more streetwise, and Italian-American. I love the scene transition with a random panoramic shot of early-morning Manhattan looking westward across the East River with the silhouettes of the skyscrapers and the ambience of traffic. This is right before Elsa and Louie’s flight through the city, which is similar to The Rescuers Down Under when Cody and Marahute fly together, only this one is better.

Y’know, Brian, with every movie you’ve listed here, it got me thinking about one that’s had a certain fanbase divided between those who like it and those who dislike it, a movie that is on the way to celebrating twenty-five years since its premiere. I’m talking, of course, about “Thomas and The Magic Railroad”.
Now, I can understand why some people didn’t and continue not to like it, considering how it lacks railway realism, the story’s all over the place, there are hardly any people on the Island of Sodor working with the engines, save for the human characters that arrive on Sodor from Shining Time and only the mentions of Sir Topham Hatt, and the magic added to the movie itself doesn’t fit the image of the Rev. W. Awdry, the author of the Railway Series books where Thomas the Tank Engine came from in the first place.
But I’d be lying if I said I couldn’t see any charm to it that made half the Thomas fandom love it. The way Britt Allcroft (may she rest in peace 🙏🏻) produced this movie and worked hands on with the actors shouts out how much love and fun was put into the production of it, and the way the two worlds connect with each other, between “Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends” and “Shining Time Station,” the latter being the TV show that introduced American audiences to Thomas the Tank Engine in the first place, is just… charming and entertaining. Undeniably flawed, but still charming and entertaining.
Coming from a guy who grew up with Thomas through Shining Time Station, it truly feels like a labor of love that, while flawed, is still fun to watch. And with The Railway Series entering its 80th anniversary, I cannot recommend the whole brand, itself, enough to newcomers of all ages, including you, Brian. I know you didn’t grow up with Thomas the Tank Engine, but if you give it a try, you might enjoy it. And even if you don’t, that’s okay, too, I understand that Thomas isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I still encourage you to at least give it a try.
I’m Andrew Hager, and this has been my ThomTalk.

I had a lifelong version of this. Dinosaur is one of my favorite movies ever but growing up, I didn’t know many people who liked it outside of my family. When the Internet came around and I got free run of it by the end of the 2000’s, I still didn’t really find many people who liked it or had seen it that much.
Then in this decade, when Schafrillas said it was the worst Disney movie he’d ever seen, I saw much more hatred for the movie online. It was very odd to me to see somebody so harshly hate something I grew up loving and it genuinely upset me that day and for a good while. Luckily, I’ve slowly seen a little more positive reception to it as time has gone on.

I've always loved Sinbad. His character is roughish and charming. Marina looks like a damsel, but ends up being a boss and saving their butts half the movie. The side characters all have endearing qualities too
For Guardians of Gahoole, I loved it too. I saw the movie first and then read the books when it was clear it wouldn't continue. It was gorgeous and fun. For those loving the books, I can see why they didn't like it going in. Because of the nature of the books, they had to combine some things. The movie covers the story of the first five books because they're really short books (the first just covers up to Soren escaping St. Agnes and finding the tree). But i understand why they did that. Unfortunately, i don't think the book fans appreciated the change

    3. Never once hated the Ice Age movies. However I do wish we gitten to see the human baby return. I am however a little bit hateful with Adventures of Buck Wild. Mainly since it was made by Disney and not Blue Sky and didn't feel the same. But still liked watching it.
    4. Personally I like both Happy Feet's. I actually preferred 1 over 2. Still likable to watch.
    5. Used to love always watching Guardians of Gahoole. Would've always gotten chills when the soundtrack would play throughout. If only there were sequel's. I'm still on the 1st book and haven't read the second to the rest that been released. Mainly with reading other books first.

All of these movies expect for the Ice Age films, that I honestly didn’t watch because they just never interested me, I have never seen . I never knew there was a Happy Feet Two or that any of these other movies existed. For We’re Back! A Dinosaur Story, that came out before I was born and then Sinbad was released in 2003 so I was too young to see it. Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole just went pass my radar I guess cause I don’t remember seeing one trailer for that movie.

For 'We’re back a Dinosaur’s Story' I agree with you 100%. I loved this movie as a kid and yet I get it's not that well written but I still have a soft spot in my heart for it. Heck this was the movie that "really" got me interested in and loving dinosaurs. Even though I'd already had seen 'The Land Before Time' (which I like a lot too) and was too young at the time to see 'Jurassic Park'.

I really like the first ice age what kind of loses me in the sequels.
I really love the brother/buddy dynamic between all three guys raising the baby.
Dad and I used to watch it all the time good memories😊

I had seen the first Ice Age in theaters when I was a kid and I loved it. I also had the first two movies on DVD a few years later and I watched them quite often. Those first two movies I think will always be the best of the franchise. I can even say that the third movie was really good too, but you won’t ever convince me to watch Continental Drift, Collision Course and Adventures of Buck Wild.

I agreed with most of this list too, I love Sinbad Legend of the Seven Seas in my older sister and I had a blast watching this movie we watched at least 4 or 5 times on the DVD we had, it was such a fun movie to watch! And We're Back was my sister and I's childhood, grew up loving this film XD it was one of the few Don Bluth films we adored as kids and even though it does have a lot of flaws, it still holds a special place in our hearts. Happy Feet 2 was pretty fun too, sure I liked the first one more but the second was still a lot of fun all the same. ;3
And I remember watching Legend of the Guardians Owls of Ga'Hoole in the theater, again with my older sister and we enjoyed it! Another fun filled adventure that was dark but interesting, and felt like it was pulled straight from a storybook and onto the big screen. And as far as Ice Age goes, I only liked the first one X3 but I did enjoy 2 and 3 but the first Ice Age in my books is still the best one and always captures my heart.
But nonetheless this was a good list and thanks for sharing!

I whole-heartedly agree with Ice Age, Happy Feet Two, and the FANTASTIC movie the Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole! First off with Ice Age, I have always loved those movies, and I'm with you, every single one. The characters were so fun to get to know, and grow up with. Diego and Shira have to be my favorite characters from the movies, because well.. how could I not love saber tooth tigers?? Second, their design was on point, and three, I loved watching them so much in the movies, I really wish they got their own TV show and not the main focus be on Scrat. Sure, he was funny at some points, and somehow fit with the plot in these movies, but.. why? Next up is Happy Feet Two. Now, I'm a being that really loved the first one, so a sequel was just what I was waiting for, and they did not disappoint, let me tell you. I agree with all of the points that you made, but one of my favorite parts was the "Under Pressure" cover if you will they did at the end. The amount of chills I got from that scene was insane, and I still watch it to this day. Now, to get on to what I think is one of the most legendary and iconic movies of all time, hence the title, the Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole. I can not express how much I love this movie into words, so I will try. I first saw it in 2023, not too long ago unfortunately, and I regret not knowing about this sooner. I mainly didn't know, because I've never heard of the book series until I was introduced to the movie, and I instantly fell in love it. The story, the plot, the characters, the MUSIC. I'm a sucker for soundtrack music, and this movie went all the way. My favorite scene was with Soren flying through the lightning in slow motion, and the music turns into this beautiful, chilling piece, and AHHH! I love it so much. Definitely worth the watch, and I really want to read the books at some point.

Muppets Most Wanted is mine. The consensus in the muppets fandom seems to be that it was terrible and I wholeheartedly disagree. At one point I thought it was even better than the first (2011) one.

Ice Age was an Awesome Movie (in fact, I can even would like a Crossover Movie between Ice Age and Jurassic World, The Scientists have enough to make so many Dinosaurs so they decided to bring back alive a Wooly Mammoth, The Crossover that no one expects but very interesting and fun to see it happening)

Finally someone who loves EVERY Ice Age film! Major hot take but I even though i enjoy Ice Age 1&2 i actually much prefer Ice Age 3, 4 & 5. Yeah you could say the franchise gets more dumb and unrealistic at it goes on but honestly I dont notice that. I love these characters, the world and the films and stories are simply so much fun and hilarious to me. Plus Ice Age is by far one of the most nostalgic parts of my childhood so that makes me love them. Oh btw I absolutely love Buck! Ice Age 3 & 5 are my favourite cos of him, he's one of the most funny and enjoyable animated characters to me
