    I would love Steve Blackman to write an autobiographical book. Attitude era wrestler, near death experience, MMA instructor, bail bondsman, what a journey. He'd give such a level-headed account too.

    Ken has admitted he was physically shot after his knee injury (i think training for Don Frye). His upper body strength was comprised by a shoulder injury and his lower body by said knee injury. He tried to adapt as best he could but his strength/explosivness (especially in a grappling context) was his best asset and he was never able to overcome losing it.

    Ken was way past his prime for those Ortiz fights.

    Ive seen footage of kens old mma team , the lions den. Those guys trained extremely hard . Heavy conditioning , heavy sparring . I think ken left his best years on those training mats . He destroyed his body before the sport really took off

      Watched a bunch of them fight in Redding california. They slaughtered local guys. Even shamrock's head is bigger than normal. Just a big dude.

    Im assuming other then the battle with injuries and their body taking a beating day in n day out is what starts too take its toll.. But also its the being away from their family friends n loved ones that really begins too break a man down..

    I heard an interview where Ken said he got beat by the one that beats everybody,father time/old age. I guess despite a procedure he had done over in Columbia (I think its the same one Matt Hughes had) he's not physically up for any MMA fight anymore.

    Shamrock was 38, Tito Ortiz was 27. Also, Shamrock had several injuries while in WWF (including a torn lung and broken ankle).

      2 different generations of athletes. Tito was the more complete fighter.

      Couture was 40 and beat Ortiz. Age wasn't a factor when Ken fought Ortiz, It was that Ken never evolved and had his mind in the early UFC days when no one knew how to defend a submission. Frank his brother was a way way better fighter.

      It was not his age Ken had a plethora of injuries and he took crazy amount of drugs during his wwe career which took a toll on his body.

    • @SiL3NtJ-vf1xz
      @SiL3NtJ-vf1xz หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't believe that though. Shamrock beat guys like Don Frye, Bas Rutten, and Dan Severn who were pretty complete as well.

    There is no version of Ken shamrock that could beat a prime Tito Ortiz. I'm not a huge Tito fan, but he was far more evolved than Ken Shamrock. Ken shamrock did not even try to evolve, it seems. Also, Ken shamrock had one of the worst attitudes any mixed martial artist could have in regards to being a good teammate/coach. Many of his competitions were strictly business. Rarely did he compete at his best for a variety of reasons.

      Bs. He would smoke Ortiz in his prime.

    • @Bucephalus84

      @Geraldo-ro9rc not logical. Tito was too strong and just a more complete fighter. I'm a big fan of both.

      Not logical. I'm a big fan of both, but Tito was more evolved and too strong for Ken.

      Frank got outclassed by Nick Diaz. This kinda parallels that.

    • @MrJames-eb6rp
      @MrJames-eb6rp 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That was at the end of his career a completely new generation, that's why he retired after that match. But before that Frank was king.
