I feel like maybe Eliza inherited the house and some of the fancier furnishings. Kind of like maybe her grandparents had money but the family's fortune declined overtime, like her parents were regular middle class people. In my mind, the reason she is so materialistic and a mansion baron , is that she wants to have the lifestyle she saw her grandparents have growing up.

I relate to the feeling awkward speaking your native tongue when doing certain things... I’m from a small village in North Wales and no one would speak English (not saying they didn’t know English they probably did just never spoke it) I didn’t know English until I moved to the states and had to learn it and I still struggle with speaking English sometimes and my friends are always just like “hah speak Welsh” but like 1. You wouldn’t understand a word I said 2. You’d probably say something weird about how Welsh sounds 3. It feels awkward to just speak Welsh when literally no one understands

22:35 - speaking of the island living sand, for my current household im playing with, i made a sandpit on the backyard for their toddler. Then i took her go play in the sand, and all the sudden she found an uncommon seashell and i was like "what!?? they can find seashells in strangerville!??" 😂😂

I think you can also use the older sandterrain in sandboxes and make castles and stuff. :) I'm from Finland and we also take our shoes off when we come inside and we also don't really have carpet floors in normal homes. Also it gets really cold in here so pools are not common because it's expensive to heat the water so I think it's really luxury thing to have. :D

I’ve built tons, but just started a new “save file” where I’m redoing every lot- and I’m struggling with the flooring lol! I always put wooden floors, because that’s what I love, but I realized that’s not realistic, so in my save file I’m trying to do more concrete, tile and carpet. Also in my house (I’m American) we take our shoes off, because that’s what I like- but I wasn’t raised that way and I’ve almost never seen others do it. I find it is much more hygienic, but others I know think it’s pointless. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m from Alabama and most houses do not have carpet here. If a home did have carpet it’s mainly in the bedrooms but a lot of people have changed to hardwood floors or tile. In my house we do wear our shoes inside but they normally come off shortly after walking in the door. If we are only going to be inside for a short period of time then we will leave them on. I personally do not like to wear shoes in an area that there is carpet though because, like you said, carpet is harder to keep clean and I just personally like to feel soft carpet under my feet 😂

  • @summercucumber4964
    @summercucumber4964 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Im my experience carpet and hardwood floors are about a 50/50 split in the US. Some like carpet, some prefer wood, some like carpet only in bedroom and wood in the rest of the house. I personally prefer wood because it's easier to keep clean. As for the shoes indoors it really depends on what part of the US you come from. In some places shoes inside doesn't matter, but in other places it's considered rude to wear shoes indoors.

To me, I feel like carpeted floors is so outdated. It´s something that belongs in the 60´s and 70´s. The same with linolium (or what it´s called, that plastic type of floor). But that might be because I´m also Scandinavian (Sweden). My grandparents had carpet in the tv-room when I was little (in the 90´s), but they later renovated and removed the carpet and replaced it with wooden floor. =) Oh, and in Swedish we call the laundry room for tvättstuga or grovkök if it´s not in the bathroom. =)

    3. To have a carpet is common but not in all of the rooms, we usually have them in front of the door, a long and small one in the kitchen, and one in the bedroom

  • @mildredmelusine6970

@Aveline So were the carpets off your American relatives really dirty? I’m Canadian, and once in my childhood we moved to a century home in the northern US, and my mum had to buy a carpet steam cleaner to try to get out the years of stains. I think places where it snows or rains, it’s more common to remove shoes when entering a home. (So the mat by the front door and shoe rack makes sense). But despite my Canadian upbringing, if it’s a dry day, and I’m wearing sandals that won’t track dirt, I’ll wear them in the house if I’m going in and out a lot to the patio. Or if I’m having a fancy party, I want to wear my heels, but usually people take off their heels at the door - so only the sort of snobby people leave their heels on during a nice party. But wearing heels to someone’s house means you risk being odd looking to be all dolled up with bare feet in a room of people with socks, if the people you visit ask you to remove them to save the wooden floors. It tells you a lot about a person if they are the only one at a party wearing shoes indoors. Sometimes people will bring indoor shoes, so they can wear boots on the way over in winter. Only old people and weirdos bring slippers though XD

In Germany we also don't have carpet. At least not in modern houses. You see it from time to time in older ones from the 80s or older. We don't wear shoes in our houses as well. Sometimes people don't mind though but it definitely is considered more polite if you take them off at the front door. German is also considered to be a very harsh language or sounding like you're angry/puking etc. so I guess there are a lot of similarities 😅😂

I've lived in a home with only carpet, and then a home with hardwood only. From experience, I don't like carpet in the livingroom because I feel like a lot of dirt comes in from outside and gets all over the carpet, and if you have animals, I feel like having carpet would be dirtier or it would be hard to pick up all the animal hair. I only prefer carpet in bedrooms, because I think it seems more comfortable, if that makes sense. I like to get up in the morning and not have my feet touch the cold floor. I agree with the wierdness about walking in the house with shoes. I do this now out of habit (taking my shoes off at the door) and if someone comes into my house with their shoes on it reeeeeally bothers me but depending on who the person is, I don't say anything.

I live in America and my family has carpet in the house and we always have to take our shoes off by the front door. We aren't allowed to wear shoes on the carpet. The only hardwood we have in our house are the bathrooms and the kitchen. Every other room has carpet and although, yes they are hard to clean, they are soft and comfortable to walk on when you are not wearing socks. So I think there are pros and cons to having carpet in a house.

I hate that most houses in the UK have carpet, I have 2 cats and I’m pretty sure our carpet is now 90% cat hair 🤢 I hoover constantly 😂

I don't have carpet in my home, I don't like it and it is not very common here in Greece. The most common floor type is tile. Also, we have a closet for shoes right by the front door and always take our shoes off before entering the house. However, as this is not common in Greece, I don't usually ask my guests to take their shoes off (except for when my kids where at the crawling stage). I let them do what makes them feel more comfortable.

Overall beautiful! but 1 tip as a builder, if i may, the outside design kinda missing stones, try to add some to the bush area's/near trees, it will give more realistic vide to the build 😀👍

Every house I’ve lived in has had carpet except 1. My moms house, my dads house, my mother-in-law’s house, and my current home all have carpet!

I think it's got to do with weather conditions and not germs - who wants to bring mud and snow into the house?

Carpet is a bitch and a half to keep clean and small stuff like tacks get hidden in them and are basically impossible to spot until the sharp end is in your foot. Fuck carpet. Hard wood and concrete all the way.

Aveline, have you ever heard the theory that says Elisa and Bob are inspired by a couple for the sims 2, and that Bob and Eliza have a problematic marriage, and probably because of this, Bob Pancake barely walk outside his home(while Elisa os always running around the world). I loved to see the stories about the sims in this channel, but to not make spam, I will only put the name if someone ask me. Btw, I loved your version of their house, even though I haven't seen their original house because I never played in their neighborhood

I hope the cats name is food related. I just picture them having an expensive Persian named Waffles.

Carpet is popular in the US, but I moved to Ecuador and no one really has carpet here. I adjusted fast, though....

I’m American and we always take our shoes off before coming into someone’s house (or even my own) it’s just common courtesy here.

They don’t do that everywhere in the US tho, I can see it on the comments 😄
