I've been sewing for 60 years and I've never seen a quilt like that. You are an artist Dave, and a craftsman. As for not buying more fabric - I'm unwillng to do that too.

Great use of crumbs. They look like camouflage for the animals. As my eyes scanned across the quilt, I was surprised and delighted to find an animal.

I just recently found your channel and I'm so happy!! I love this jungle quilt made with 'Mt Scrapmore'!! And I absolutely love how you take us from start to finish in ONE VIDEO!!! I make a lot of scrap quilts but still my scraps never really seem to dimish! It's just crazy! I have mine separated by colorway... I need to see if I can make a scrap quilt from each color... Oh wow, I just thought of a new scrap quilt while typing this!! LOL!

FINALLY! The jungle quilt was behind you in a couple of vids and we finally got to see the process. I have a small flamingo panel and want to make it into a wall quilt, I think I will try this method. Isn’t it amazing how mt. scrapmore just grows and grows? I recently used mine for a QUEEN sz quilt and it sure didn’t look like I used any of it. Wish I had weighed it, at least then I would know and have that sense of accomplishment. 🤷‍♀️ So happy it’s Tuesday!💕💗💚😘

Love the adding machine tape, use it often, here is a tip, cut the pieces about 3/4 or 1” wider than the tape, so I can trim it into a strip wider than the tape if u find the tape too skinny, the widest tape I have found is 3”, so I can get at least a 4” strip out of it by extending the fabric behind each side if the rose by a bit, and then cutting 1/4 or 1/2” wider on each side of the tape when I trim it. Food for thought.

Just beautiful! I love scrap quilts and your panels are perfect. What a fun project! More scrap quilts, please!
I see you do the adding machine tape a lot and wondered if you ever use old dryer sheets?
I do small projects usually, bags and pouches, and I use mainly scrap since my stash is mainly thrifted. I use old dryer sheets to piece on because they work as a stabilizer. I recently saw another TH-camr using old dryer sheets and thought maybe you could jump in and make it trend. So much better than them going to waste in the trash!

I am not a scrappy quilter, but I have to say, I was loving how your courthouse steps blocks were coming out. It's really such a great look! I also have a problem with scraps, and I'm trying to find ways to make simple additions to the backs of my quilts. I have seen this for years... people use the leftovers from their tops to make a back, but I just don't want to take the time to make a whole 'after quilt' like Karen Brown... I am going to try this thing I saw on Donna Jordan's channel where she does a diagonal paper pieced thing. Anyway, good luck with Mount Scrapmore!

Great quilt! I made one of those recently, inspired by Fabric Patch. I used ocean themed scraps in aquas and corals, featuring a fabric that had pelicans and seashells. The colors and theme reminded me of Florida, so I named the quilt Florida Crumb Cake.

I really try to make quilts for specific kids or grandkids, but more than any other theme has been Star Wars quilts. Since licensed fabrics usually cost more, I try to use it all. I have found making those scrappy areas to place around some of the part of the quilt that hangs over the bed is good and really lets me use it all up. I also love working the extras into a pillow deep band of the main theme on the back of the quilt and my last few quilts have been 2 sided. Star Wars on one side and all tropical aquatics and whales and Hawaiian prints on the other side. This started out as a challenge and a double trouble pain for the hand quilting fingers, but it sure does use lots more fabric and scraps for double-sided, queen-sized quilts. I wish you could find a quilt guild or group near you that could give you some hand quilting tips and tricks. Your quilting has really progressed very well, and I and others have seen your enjoyment to be allowed to be so creative. Hopefully, you will help lots more men find their way to quilting. I so enjoy the process as well. Aloha! 🧵🧵🌴🌴🪡🪡

Thanks ! I'm glad you like my videos 😁 I really enjoy hand quilting and I'm happy doing it the way I do; sometimes I use my john flynn frame, sometimes a hoop, sometimes I do it in my lap and sometimes I do it on the floor or at a table. It seems like not as many people are interested in hand quilting anymore; there is a guild in my area although I don't think they do hand quilting, they all use machine (as I do just as often as well) but luckily I learned how to quilt from my mother, she's always available when I need quilt advice 😜👨🏻
