In August 1982 I had tickets to the Portland Memorial Coliseum to see Keith Green & the 2nd Chapter of Acts. I was just 14 years old and just a couple weeks prior to this found out that Keith Green died in a plane crash. The 2nd Chapter of Acts decided to keep touring and kept their August concert and I also went. People began crying and weeping as they announced Keith's death and then revival broke out as the 2nd Chapter of Acts continued their concert. This is when I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit in a way that still moves me... and I've been chasing it all my life. I remember just standing worshipping, although so young, and not really understanding what was happening, and not wanting to leave. Just a few years later, in 1987, God providentially allowed me to fellowship with the Jesus People in Albuquerque, New Mexico. These people were about 10 years older then me and would often talk about the moving of the Holy Spirit in the early 70's, the music of Keith Green, Love Song, Larry Norman, Nancy Honeytree, Petra, and the 2nd Chapter of Acts. What a blessing to be a part of this!!!!
The 2nd Chapter of Acts felt led to continue their tour and finished in 1983 exhausted and completely spent. They then took 1983 off and started back on their tour in 1984, and just in the short period of time, Christian Contemporary music had changed and was no longer as salty and challenging as it was under Keith Green. I believe in 2025 there will be a new generation of sold-out Christians and new stories of God moving through them.
Your videos touch the souls of your brothers and sisters who you didn't even know existed. Even the smallest things have eternal consequences and hearing the honesty in your message and also your sharing of the song really lifted my heart up to Christ. God bless you. Thank you.
Needed this today. I feel as though you were talking to me. This morning I was praying asking for his help to be a beacon and to not be afraid to evangelize. Thank you brother.
Brother, I found your channel through a youtube suggestion with your video defending the NKJV. We are very like minded. I love Keith Green too, even though he passed 15 years before I was born. Him and Rich Mullins specifically are both on my most listened artists list on spotify. I'm a big early CCM fan in general. But anyway just wanted to say keep up the great work and God bless you.
A few decades ago, I listened to alot of Keith Greene, and it always inspired me. But what I should have been doing was spending much more time in Scripture -- that's what truly empowers one to avoid compromise -- and getting to church on Sundays and sitting under excellent expository preaching.
