A spiky personality to the end. But he's right, we can no more take credit for the courageous actions of an ancestor than we should be ashamed of any bad actions. It's just something we can't help doing sometimes.
Sarah Piaggio, what a sensible comment yours is. You are absolutely correct. We have no control on the actions of our ancestors ... we are who we are are. Period.
He is very fortunate to be able to trace back to the 1300’s. I have only been able to go back to 1743 on my Mother’s paternal side. My Father’s side is a complete struggle because they were enslaved. It is quite difficult to trace enslaved ancestors.
@@willrichardson519 I have had DNA testing done (3 yrs ago) which actually connected me to my 1743 Ancestor. I’m still missing huge gaps of history with other Ancestors.
It's interesting to research your ancestry and see where you come from. I have a 9-year-old daughter, and it's been a fun project for us to work on. Unfortunately, rather than my ancestors going from rags to riches, the opposite was largely the case. War, disease, an execution at the Cross of Edinburgh, and being on the losing side of the 1715 caused those who escaped to emigrate to America. In America they prospered, and, at least in my case (though I now live in Japan), continue to do well.

Wow that’s really an amazing story of his family’s history, he’s got to be proud

I can't even find my great grandparents names. That's what war will do
@@willrichardson519probably trace her roots all the way back to Thomas Jefferson!
Well as a Canadian, I had no idea who Jeremy Paxton was. Now I know a great deal about him and I rather like the fellow.
If you wanna know more bout him second hand, watch the quiz show University Challenge on the channel Dave Garda here on TH-cam.
The personalized number plate comment was good. So was, "Oh yes, in Suffolk"
That pride is what most Americans feel about their ancestors.
How many people can trace the absolute origin of their family name especially to the 1300s?

He is rude, yes. Showing a lack of respect is not classy.
Jeremy is embarrassingly fragile.
