    Always qualified in last until I found this video. Just ran my first race in it in career mode with the shorter races. Qualified in 19th and I wasn't very smooth. Got 2nd in the race, made an error on the last turn and got passed and could recover on the tri. With a bit of practice this is going to be an awesome setup! Thank you so much!

    Great setup raiseing the front ride height really adds some speed, I never would have thought of trying that before seeing this video. This setup is a tiny bit faster and more stable if the rear track bar is turned all the way down instead of all the way up. That makes it a little tight though so lower the wedge to your liking. Also if using a controller wheel lock at 1 makes the steering smoother, the set up man is probably using a wheel which is why he has it higher.

    WOW! What a huge difference for me personally. I just picked up Heat 5 a few weeks ago, (I guess I should note that i'm a new fan to the sport, so learning all the ins and outs of stock car racing is crazy.. and I love it! Especially how much goes into setups for the cars. But now that I'm dipping my toes into the online races... I can't compete so save my life, unless someone spins out and doesn't catch up to me, haha, but custom setups are the only way to compete online it seems. Thanks again for the tips and advise throughout this entire video, you know your shit lol

      I have a couple of suggestions. Join some groups on Facebook that are dedicated to NASCAR Heat 5 and create a post saying that you're looking for a league. You'll probably get several invitations. Here are some groups that I would recommend. Just search for them on FB and then join the group. XBOX One NASCAR Racing Community (Playstation guys are on this as well), NASCAR Heat 5 Community, NASCAR Heat Series Leagues, and NASCAR Heat 5. These are all good groups, but the first one is probably the most active! Also, I'd recommend watching this video prior to getting into league racing. League racing can be a great experience, or it can be horrible, it just depends on the league(s) you join, how they are ran, and whether they fit what you're looking for. This video will help you find the right league. th-cam.com/video/bimhVcpHjHQ/w-d-xo.html Good luck! Let me know how it goes!

      I’m having the same issue, I’m in career mode, and at first I thought it was my slow car, but I have a good car now, and I still can’t make practice time, unless I find a draft partner, for racing, I start off 40th as well, the steering seems like it wants to steer right towards the wall, but if you can stay in the draft long enough you’ll catch up

    • @theset-upman3500
      @theset-upman3500  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching and thanks for the feedback. First, I think qualifying is kind of broken on the restricter plate tracks. At every other track, I can qualify in the top 10 easily, and I get lots of top 5s and poles, but at plate tracks, I'm always at the back. So, I think the game is broken in that regard. They don't adjust the AI's qualifying time properly to reflect "single car" speeds with no draft. Second, if you have any assists turned on, try turning them off. The assists make the car easier to control, but slower. Another key to running fast in qualifying is to be very smooth with the wheel. The more you turn the wheel, the more speed you lose. So, if you're turning the wheel back and forth a lot, you're losing speed. Also, hitting the apron, even a little, really kills your speed. Finally, I set this up to be a little bit tight. Try going down on the front sway bar a click or two. That might give you a little bit of extra speed by loosening the car up a little bit. I hope this helps, and I'm sorry that I didn't respond sooner!

    • @theset-upman3500
      @theset-upman3500  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If I'm running by myself, I usually run in 3rd gear, unless I've got the car really wound up. When I'm in the draft, I only use 4th gear. Hope that helps.

    Will the over inflation not kill long run tire fade?

    • @theset-upman3500
      @theset-upman3500  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not at all. In fact the tire wear is so good that you can frequently go with 2 tires or just a gas and go. The over-inflated tires give you more speed on the straights. Literally, every fast guy that I know runs 60 PSI on their tires at Daytona and Talladega.

    I have a Question? My car in career mode has the same setup as my online setup has and my car lacks horse power. It has lost 2 or 3 mph at Daytona only getting 198 mph and online 201 mph. I went with a team in stead of making a team. I raced a friend on two player split screen and after that it lost speed. I remember on the PS3 had issues like that........ Been having heating issues also on the PS4 also could that cause it?. Has anyone else had theses issues on lose of power at Daytona?

    Are all of the tuning settings in this game wonky? A lot of these things you have set up would never work in real life. So it's confusing for me trying to set my car up. There doesn't seem to be much realism with these physics. Wouldn't more aggressive camber lead to more wear? Thus meaning more pit stops and a full length race.

    • @theset-upman3500
      @theset-upman3500  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never driven a real race car, so I can't say a lot about how it compares to the real world, but a lot of other people have told me that the stuff that works in this game would never work in real life. As far as camber goes, they do get that part right (at least somewhat). More camber does lead to more tire wear. It varies greatly from track to track, but it does lead to more tire wear. However, the tires will still usually last throughout a full fuel run, so you don't end up making more pit stops, unless you go completely crazy with the camber settings. At Talladega and Daytona, you actually get pretty good tire wear, and you can do a two tire stop or even a gas and go, depending on the number of laps left.

  • @TheNotoriousJDE

    I'm only getting 195 (scarcely 196) with this setup...what is it wrong¿?

    • @theset-upman3500
      @theset-upman3500  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can only think of two things. First, you have to be very smooth on the steering and follow the line exactly as I drove it in the video. You want to turn the steering wheel as little as possible. The more you turn the wheel, the more speed you lose, so try to practice being smooth with the steering and moving the steering as little as possible. You always want to watch the line carefully, by swinging wide on the exit of the corners and taking a high entry into the corners, you're creating a wider arc for the car to follow, and losing less speed in the corners. Finally, if you are running any assists, turn them off. Assists make the car easier to drive, but they limit your speed on the straight stretches. I hope this helps. Sorry it took so long to respond, and thanks for watching!

    @OsceolaLongBeard ปีที่แล้ว

    Can someone explain to me why my car drifts to the left with this setup?

    • @theset-upman3500
      @theset-upman3500  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try changing the steering offset. The steering offset means that when your wheel/controller is pointed straight, the wheels are actually not straight, they are pointed slightly to one side. I think this is done so that when you're going down a straight stretch that has a banking, you don't have to turn the wheel/controller to the right to keep the car from sliding down the banking. I'm not sure which direction you need to go on the offset, I think down, but try setting it at .000 and see if that cures the problem.

  • @MTR4AU

    Love your setups! But I got a question on this one. I use a controller and Idk if it’s my sensitivity or what, but it’s hard for me to keep a smooth line around the corners with the track bars at 15.00. I’ve tried lowering both track bars to 10.00 but still tough. It’s still pretty loose to me. And when I barely try to adjust my line with my joystick, it makes me wanna head straight up the track. I also have my wheel lock at 10 and offset at 0.100. Would it help to adjust the cambers from what you have setup? Also, I have my settings set with Deadzone all the way to the left, steering sensitivity 3 clicks from the left and steering rate all the way to the right. Wish I had a steering wheel but have to just deal with controller for now. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
