I discovered your channel during the original Covid lockdown and binge-watched from the beginning. It's because of your love for Mexico that we decided to travel around Mexico. Since then we have come to Mexico several times: 1st trip was to Playa del Carmen, the second trip to Puerto Morelos, then we retired and took a third trip taking 2 months to explore San Cristóbal, Comitán, Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapa de Corzo, Huatulco, Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca City, Puebla City and CDMX. (I never noticed that Chilango accent.) We came home for Christmas but will be returning next week to stay 5 weeks in Mérida, then visit Campeche, Valladolid and another 10 days on the Maya Riviera. Next time we want to explore those colonial highland towns: Querétaro, SMA, Guanajuato, Morelia, Guadalajara and Ajijic with the surrounding pueblo mágicos. Thank you for turning us on to Mexico. It is a big beautiful country with wonderful food and lovely people.
Retired and almost moved there permanently in 2012. Lovely, but needed more to do, more culture, and medical access. 2013 we moved to Morelia and are 8 years into a lovely home and adore living in Morelia. It has everything and is never overwhelmed with weekenders or tourists. We will never move back to the U.S. Enjoy Tequis! Sweet little town.
I grew up in New York City and if you take the subway there you see big rats all the time. I have seen them walking up the stairs in Grand Central station and one time, I was standing on the platform waiting for the train and this really big rat started walking on the train tracks towards me. He stopped, just about where I was standing, and very nonchalantly looked up at me almost like saying to me "what's up?" and continued on his way after a couple of seconds. He wasn't scared of people at all.
I would recommend you go to Tecozautla Hidalgo it's close to Tequisquiapan Queretaro . There are many water parks with natural warm water and a natural Geyser turned into a water park.
So glad you had found my favourite coffe shop in Tequis: Chocolate Molinillo on Independencia Street. I just go to Tequis for its green pumpkin bread (panqué de calabaza)!!!! So yummy
I lived in San Juan Del Rio and would visit Tequis quite often. It truly is a great weekend getaway. Even the bus station has beautiful views of the mountains in the background. It’s the perfect city for celebrating holidays!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Nice video of your first days in Tequis. Having said that, I wish you both and your loved ones a wonderful holiday season and every blessing of health, happiness, and prosperity, in the new year ahead. Feliz Año Nuevo... Abrazos
medio cuarto is half of a quarter (.25), so, that, in English is an eighth (.125). Further, when she said, medio cuarto, or an eighth, was a reference to an eighth of a gram of candy
Hi Gregg and Hillary, Just wanted to wish you both a Happy, Healthy and Safe New Year!!! Gregg, with you permission," You have a MUY PRECIOSA MUJER A TU LADO", Hillary, you are a very precious Lady.
Hey guys. You are now officially banned from saying it’s too cold in Mexico lol. -48°C the other day up in Alberta Canada here. Jk of course. Thanks for another great video. Under 5 yrs and counting til I buy my dream home in Puerto Vallarta. Can’t wait. Happy New Year.
We spent the holidays in Tequis with my parents and siblings, I'm glad you are staying longer this time guys, would have really enjoyed seeing you and saying hi but it could be some other time 😉
Great vid! Get some content on the people of Mexico maybe. Shiuld of gone back and questioned the lady about Medio cuarto. Have her explain. Great missed opportunity.
In Bolivia they also used libras (pounds) and the media libra is half a pound or 250 grams. That looks like what you got. I'm sure you didn't need me to say that!
Freezing??? Lol, you’ve been in Puerta Vallarta too long! That’s shorts and tee shirt weather, Lol. We are seriously considering a move there from San Miguel de Allende/Guanajuato area. We’ve visited there once for a few hours on the way to Queretaro. It was at the top of our list before we left the US. Midweek is dead but we hear the weekends are lively. Thanks for the video! Oh, and wonderfully flat with nice streets and sidewalks and super clean with no garbage or graffiti! These are things everyone moving here will learn to appreciate very quickly. Oh! And they also have a newer water treatment and supply system in Tequis. Bonus! Read about the local water supplies, especially in San Miguel de Allende! Ouch, NOT good!
Dudes my wife and I live in Tequis we would love to have you two as guest. Just do not know how to connect with you, our compound has guest rooms (like a hotel room). wow would love to buy you two dinner. if you see a big guy on a red Mobility scooter that's me my name is Al. i will be sitting out side my favorite restrant eating on the 31st at 12 noon hope see you.
Just don't smell the river. As hard as it is to believe the smell is actually worse after the flooding we had a few months ago. Did you guys only stay in centro?
@BettyAbsolutely depending on your age & goal for what you want. Starting in San Juan del Rio toward Tequis the water goes from ok to bad. If you go outside of that river line the water gets better. So if clean water is important Tequis isn't where you want to be. Tequis can get boring real fast if you're not here for the tourist stuff. There's also the political corruption that wasn't too evident or bad when we first moved here & now is bad enough it's talked about on tourist forums.
@BettyAbsolutely I've not yet lived in other areas so I'm not sure about internet connection but from a visiting aspect any of the towns in the mountain range north of Tequis you'll find beautiful looking water systems that I assume are same to drink. What I've heard is you will need to acclimate your body to the local water.
@BettyAbsolutely reliable can be sketchy too. If I were you I would start with a telcel internet so you could roam around & find where you like that has good cell service & water. Then once you narrow down the general area you want to be in then find which town has the best internet available. We have fiber here but the internet companies can be flaky & once we went 6 weeks without internet because a wire was cut & the company kept not getting it reconnected, this specific company hasn't had too many problems except this past year.
Just the other day you were going to start business in PV. Now you are in another city claiming it is the most beautiful and where you want to be. Kind of confused following you.
Men I’m on the gym doing bench but wen I hear wera talking like chillando olmos drop the 45 on me make laugh so hard anyway I born in Mexico City but my whole live I been between atlanta and Ohio
rats come with human populations, there is no way around it, and they say that for each person there is at least 2 rats, so if in tequis theres 60 k people, more likely there are 120 k rats in tequis.... Mex city has 20 million people so about 40 million rats here!!! LOL

Honestly with so many videos I have watched on minimalism and decluttering I think goodies are not a bad idea as gifts.
Welcome to Tequis....I love it here.
WOW!! what a beautiful place Maybe I shall try to live there :) It reminds me a little of Chignahuapan, City center... but much larger. :)
Really sorry to hear about your PTRD!! Had a similar experience and am going through therapy for PTAD after visiting my crawl-space.

Pizza at La Quercia-fabulous-thin crust and wonderful combinations of toppings
It's more easy to use grams. Minimal buying measure is 100 grams(gramos). The escales in Mexico use metric system
Hola hermosa 💖 guerita un abrazo a don goyo grek una pregunta porque no visitan santiago de Querétaro México.

San Angel and Coyoacán do have that charm. You just have to wonder in their streets.✌️

Beautiful town.
Good video! Just wondering if y'all were tired near the end of your day because of the altitude?
You are right! Medio cuarto is half a quarter Kilo. so an 8th of a Kilo of candy. 3.5 g's.
Your chilango accent is too good Hilary 🤣
You guys, at the end of the video, mentioned having delicious pizza... What's the name of that restaurant?

@BettyAbsolutely For internet do you need it just functional or do you need fast also?
@BettyAbsolutely reliable can be sketchy too. If I were you I would start with a telcel internet so you could roam around & find where you like that has good cell service & water. HELLO GUYS I WOULD LIKE TO RECOMMEND YOU THE MAGIC TOWN OF ORIZABA, VERACRUZ
👍
Maybe point the camera at the town you are talking over each other about more? If it’s so scenic then show the scenery more?
🥰😊👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻
If you think that's a huge rat, don't ever go to Kuala Lumpur!
No. Cuetzalan and Pátzcuaro are certainly ahead.
La güera muy graciosa jajaja
Ay kenons 🤔un cuarto 1/4of a kilo-1000g is equal to 250grams , half of a quarto is equal to 125g🤪

Best Things to Do in Queretaro Mexico
1) Roam Around the Monuments of Queretaro's Historic Center.
2) Tour the Queretaro Wine Region.

4) Hike Up One of the World's Largest Monoliths: Peña de Bernal.

I wouldn't recommend jumping up and down on the rat habitats.
