One would think because of my Italian heritage I would like wine, well I don't. What I do like is your videos. I'm happy Linda is showing up. I want to think you for all your great info on Mexico. I just turned 72 and will be on my way for a extended trip ( 3 month minimum) starting from Tj to Puebla, Veracruz, Jalapa and on. This is good! That is only about 2 1/2 hours from where we live, in Morelia. My wife is into really into wine and cheese too. We'll go in the next couple weeks.
Just want you guys to know, I've been following your vlogs since before we relocated to Morelia, from Reno, Nevada in 2021.
Your video about living in Mexico, on my Social Security, made my decision. We live an amazing life, and it's the best move I've ever made. My wife's family is from both Mexico City, and here in Morelia.
Thanks so much, for your advice, entertaining way of communicating.
VIVA MEXICO, and regards to your lovely bride, Linda. Looking forward to the next one...

I visited a lavender farm just outside Tequis. But I didn't make it into Tequis. When my driver gave me the price back to QRO (1000 pesos) I decided I didn't want to pay more to get into the town. Dammit - my cheapness kills me!
BTW, I tried to find a local driver on a FB group, but none were available. And I agreed to pay Uber rates.
    Good to see Linda!

I usually watch your Spanish language videos but I loved this one with your esposa! We have lived on and off in Mexico Baja Norte, for many years and enjoyed the Valle de Guadalupe wine region. We have traveled all over Mexico and enjoyed a couple of wineries in the Queretero, SMA región Tierra de Cuna, Tres Raíces, Frexinet?, and La Hacienda. I’m excited to try the others that you showed here in the video. We are living in Spain and enjoying the wines here but will be back in Mexico in a year or two and will definitely check these wineries out. Great video.

Hey, guys! This made me give a little squeal of delight as you showed Tequisquiapan. I have been working in the wine industry for three years, making and selling wine in Washington State. We went to QRO, Bernal and Tequis back in February. We just loved it. I love the size, prices and flavor of this area. Of course, Centro is gorgeous, but the highway periphery is desolate and industrial.
Be careful coming off the 57D cuota. Picked up a mordita there in a rental. Dude kept moving his hand to his pistol in a threatening way, as I participated in the mordita script. 😲

Hopefully you visited Quesos VAI or Quesos Bocanegra. Quesos VAI has an interesting store and a good restaurant as well. The provolone there is the best one you can have!

for the start of the day absolutely they need to offer fresh bottles of wine... I would think that is standard practice at any winery. however once you open a bottle of wine it will taste better as it is exposed to oxygen, just not over night - that is too long. that is why using a decanter is recommended for red wines, to mix in oxygen. the towns both look super cute and clean which is a big plus for Mexico. Paul looks good in the cowboy hat!

QrooPaul: I just thought of something that sounds weird but I would actually do it! You two take me with you and I’ll pay for everything!! What a deal!! Well, I could be like your grampa!! I’ll be 70 in March and I am feeling every year of it! My past living not so healthy is catching up and running me over! 😂 Paul, have you ever thought of putting in a map maybe Google Map so some of us who see Mexico as huge can get an idea how far away these places are from where we might recognize a name? Thanks, this was a great video. I want to live in the Boutique Hotel for like forever!!

You will need to fly into Queretaro Airport. There are direct flights from Cancun.

We really love to watch your travel videos! Please make some more like these! 🤗 Also, I had a question. When hiring a "private driver" - Once you negotiate the cost, do you also tip them at the end? Just curious what the customs are in Mexico. My husband and I are looking forward to our move to Puerto Vallarta next year! Thank you for being so informative with the laws in Mexico, etc. 🙌

    • @qroo
      @qroo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

In most cases, the private driver works for themselves so tipping is unnecessary; however, we often do it if the driver made an extra effort to do more than just drive. For example, they acted more like a tour guide and gave you a steady stream of interesting facts along the way etc.

$160 a night. I believe it is the most expensive hotel in the town but well worth it. The customer service is phenominal. I watched them wash all of the guests cars in the morning.

    • @qroo

Yes, we flew in to Queretaro Airport. It was a 40 minute taxi ride to Tequis and it cost about $550 MXN.
