CP77 for example after the Phantom Liberty DLC they made it heavily CPU intensive where my 5800X gets 70%+ CPU usage at QHD where Im having 105W - 120W but also have each core to run at 4.85 GHz constantly due to PBO with Curve Optimizer on -22. Other than that you are correct as he has 100W+ even at 30% CPU usage and thats where I have around 70-80W and lower temps. But even with Curve Optimizer, I dont think he will achieve 4.85 GHz and lower temps as hes running an Air Cooler by be quiet meanwhile I run Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 ARGB. Its possible but cant confirm nor deny it
i really don't understand why benchmark channels still test cpu's in 4K with ultra graphics, it doesn't make sense to me since the higher the resolution and the graphics, it only makes more gpu bounded
From a technical point of view you are completely right dude, however from an objective point of view it is good to do it at 4K so that those who do not know much realize that there is not much difference in 4K, since there all the bottleneck is absorbed by the GPU. Until 4 years ago these Benchmarks were made at resolutions of 720p, but today only a percentage (worldwide) less than 1% play at that resolution, so it does not make sense, and that is where the gap between the CPUs is more clearly seen.
@@hugoc.robles156 this is wrong because in a lot of cases some higher settings increase CPU demand like raytracing, crowds size and the quality of physics that are interactable or non interactable (some game use the cpu for this when they shouldn't) So no cpu testing is more in depth than just 1080p low settings then look at number.
I agree that with 1080p you get to see the difference between cpus better. But the thing is, is that if im playing at 4K, I want to know HOW MUCH it matters between the cpus. If you just test at 1080p, you dont know if it is worthwhile to upgrade if youre at 4K…
it totally makes sense to do that, so people with that cpu and plattform know, if their cpu bottlenecks that kind of gpu, in a 4k szenario. it doesnt make sense to do it without lower resolutions if you do a cpu benchmark only but i like getting both informations at once. you got what you wanted too, so i dont see a problem.
He uses a 4090 but he probably filmed the footage of himself showing the settings while he was testing a 3070 so he doesnt have to record himself showing the settings again
No. 5700X3D is best for ppl who are trying from upgrade Zen 2 (3000 series) but still want to stick to the AM4 instread of the new AM5 socket which the 7000 series and above uses. The 5800X is still better than 5700X3D when it comes to productivity applications, but for pure gaming 5700X3D is slightly better because of its high 3D cache. So in short, if you already own a 5800X it's not worth upgrading.

You seriously need to time your measurements better, the percentiles are all over the place and often make no sense. Just start measuring after a game loads, it shouldn't be that hard.

The results of the 5800X is worse partly because he is using cheap 3200C18 memory. I had a 5800X and when paired with tuned 3800C14 I saw a meaningful performance uplift. GN did a video on memory scaling.
X3D. CS and Dota are CPU heavy games, which strongly benefit from the increased L3 Cache. And its only 180€ now. I'd recommend going AM5 though, if you don't already have a AM4 Motherboard.
@@DeivixLV no, AM5 is a stable platform, just choose the right mainbord, good PSU and a nice kit of AMD compatible RAM. upgrade the BIOS of your mainboard and set the RAM speed to the correct value. every platform has it's quirks. But you need to know what your doing.

Why are the 1% lows and 0.1% lows SO bad on the 5800x3d. Even the avg was getting crushed by the 5700x3d multiple times and the 1% and .1% lows was almost double sometimes on the 5700x3d something must be wrong with these tests or a bad 5800x3d its legit doing TERRIBLE
there is huge effect of rtx 4090. If you try 1440p with rx 6700xt or 6800xt or etc gpu's it will be almost no difference beetween this cpus so in my opinion r7 5700x is better with 150$.

BS none of the x3D CPUs are suited best suited for 2k or 4k. 1080p is where they perform their best. At 2k or 4k they perform close to their non x3D counter part which makes them far better purchase at higher resolutions due to them having higher clocks and being cheaper in price compared to the x3D chips.

1% low is less accurate and just for fun. you should look more at average fps. x3d cpu probably less stutter.

Depends on your fps target. For example, if you're targeting a 360Hz monitor then it makes complete sense.
