Great list! Might I also recommend: Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder (Joanne Fluke), Murder on the Rocks (Karen MacInerney), Thyme of Death (Susan Wittig Albert) and Catering to Nobody (Diane Mott Davidson). Those are also great places to start!!
I would recommend Leslie Meier's series about mother and journalist Lucy Stone (books are based around holidays like Christmas Cookie Murder, Turkey Day Murder), the Tea Shop Series by Laura Childs, The Gray Whale Inn series (same as mentioned by reader below) and The Dewberry Farm series, both by Karen MacInerney, the Maine Clambake series by Barbara Ross, and the Farmer's Daughter series by Peg Cochran.
oooh Michele I love the Dewberry farm series, the Maine clambake, and although I haven't read the farmer's daughter series I love the cranberry series by her!
Thanks for sharing! Iam new to Cozy mystery. I accidentally picked up Kate Carlisle’s bibliophile series at my local library, and cannot stop ever since! Just bought the first 2 books from Ellie Alexander, can’t wait to read them! Thanks for your recommendations! Love to see you uploading new videos!
Oh thank you so much! Those are mostly my Cozies!! I love the bright colors of the covers and the cover art!! Again, thank you!! Green is one of my favorite colors! I actually noticed last night that I filmed two videos in a row with green shirts on. 🤗😂
Yay! More cozies to add to my TBR! I actually just got Curiosity Thrilled the Cat and Double Booked for Death from the library. We’re expecting a snow storm in Ohio this weekend, so I’ll have plenty of time to read them. 🙂
Oh my goodness! What great timing!! And it’s awesome that you picked those two as well! It’s going to be a wonderful weekend for you then! Stay warm!!! Let me know how you like them!
I love Mysteries with an older sleuth for example Elizabeth Spanns Mrytle Clover series. Do you know of any that are similar? I'm caught up on her series and waiting for each book to come out.
@@Courtagonist I believe Myrtle is is in her 70's but she is spry LOL her side kick is in his 70's also all the older ladies in town consider him a catch because he still has his drivers license LOL! If you try one book you will be hooked. I can talk about them forever in the meantime I'm looking for something close.
I'm going to have to check out Double Booked for Death. Hamlet sounds just like my Bishop, whom is also a black cat with attitude. Have you read the Flavia de Luce series? Stumbled upon it in Germany and fell in love with the main character. She may be 11, but smart as a whip and a whiz with science.
My mom loves the Sofie Kelley, Erika Chase (she was so sad there weren't more in the series), and the Ali Brandon books. I haven't read them yet. I will have to.
Thank you! Have to join. I love any cozy mysteries that involve baking, cooking, crafts, tea and creepy skulls. I love to get really scared now and then.
Great video! I'm surprised you didn't mention The Southern Sewing Circle. There are just so many, that it's hard to narrow it down to five. Of this group the only ones I have are some of the Ashton Corner series. I haven't read any yet though.
I know! There are soooo many series out there. I tried to pick the best ones that I had physical copies of and ones I think might appeal the the widest variety of people. I could go on and on about all of the series I’ve read and how much I love them all!
I love the sound of all of these! 😍 I love the idea of magic in a cozy mystery... And the same goes for book clubs in books! I also love reading books featuring book clubs 😊
This is the exact kind of video I've been looking for! I'm super new to cozy mysteries (in fact I've never actually read one before), but I'm a huge fan of the mystery genre in general so I've really wanted to get into these. There's just so many to choose from so this video is super helpful :)
Yay!!!! I’m so happy that you like this video then! I’m hoping to do a lot more Top 5’s for Cozies and other things. To really narrow them down!!! I hope you find one you love!!!
I love Sofie Kelly and the Magical Cats! It such a fun series. I have the first book in the Erika Chase series and plan to read it some time this year. I also love The Black Cat Bookshop mystery series by Ali Brandon but I heard book six is the last book in the series. I'm so sad because I really enjoyed that series and want more. I love all of the main characters and Hamlet is the best! Looking forward to reading Meet Your Baker and the live shows! I'm starting Meet Your Baker tonight and I can't wait!
Yay!!! I’m so happy that you’ve heard/read a lot of these series that I mentioned!! I didn’t know that The Black Cat Bookshop Series was over!!! I have the first three in the series. I need to get the rest to finish. That stinks if it is over though. Hamlet is amazing. I’m excited to see what you think about Ashton Corner’s Bookclub Series by Erika Chase!!! Yay for reading Meet Your Baker!!! Eek! I can’t wait for all of the live shows!
I hope Ali Brandon can talk to other publishers and resurrect the series. I personally think Hamlet is the best written cat character in the cozy mysteries series I've read thus far. This cat is more well read than most people I know and can foil a crime like nobody's business. LOL! I also like the more modern elements the author includes in this series. Another cozy mystery series that features a great black cat character is The Bad Luck Cat series by Kay Finch. I've really enjoyed this series as well and Hitchcock has a knack for solving crimes too. I'll definitely let you know what I think of the Ashton Corner's Bookclub series.
So the publishers stopped the series? Not her?! That makes me salty. It’s a really fantastic series! Hamlet is the best. I love how sassy he is. He is more well read then me!! I’ll have to look into the other series! Any series with kitty cats are the best!!!
I'm sure that publishers only look at how much money the book series is bringing in and not looking at the loyal fan base. In 2016 I choose to start buying the cozy mysteries that I love at B & N which are mainly the cat cozy mystery series so maybe this will help keep these series going longer. There are a ton of cat cozy mysteries to explore. I currently have 14 cat cozy mysteries series on my bookshelves. Most of which I've already read and love. =^..^=
Oh my goodness!!! So many amazing kitty cats in the Cozy Genre!!! I love it! I mostly go to Barnes and Noble, Amazon, and my local used book store to buy Cozies!!! I actually bought three of them tonight. Because I have no self control.
I love your video!! I’m so in love with the Hamlet series. I wish Ali Brandon did not have to end that series. Also excited to start the second book of the bake shop mystery by Ellie Alexander😃📚
Thank you!!! I think this will be a fun series to get started on! I want people to know that Cozies can be read and enjoyed by everyone! I really didn’t know she stopped at 6 Books. I’ll need to catch up and then morn that she ended it. I’m soooooo happy that you are enjoying The Bakeshop Mystery Series!!! ❤️
Thanks for this video; I'm definitely going to check them out! I just started Meet Your Baker, and I'm excited to delve more into the cozy mystery genre! And if cats can't already walk through walls, then they can definitely apparate. I dare any cat owner to disagree with me! 😂
Right?!?! I couldn’t agree more! Hahahaha. Apparate!!!! Yas!!! We have Wizarding World Cats!!!! I’m so excited about you starting Meet Your Baker!!! I’m so excited to see what everyone thinks about it!!!
I am addicted to these not so we'll written cat cozys by Lydia Adamson. If any one knows of a similar other than Rita Mae's, I would love to hear from you.
oh my gosh, I have seen you before, You're amazing. You should be a writer your so funny and just awesome. You should be like Ellie Alexander. Say Hello to AlexZamander
Listen to meet your baker. It was okay. I thought it didn't have much action until the main character came face to face with the killer. Sorry I tried to be vague no spoiler To much baking. Not much character development. But maybe this a introduction and more action will happen later
And that is one of the most wonderful things about Cozy Mysteries, there are all different types of themes and character development. I, personally, love this series, but that doesn't mean that everyone will!
I LOVE COZY MYSTERIES! And Hallmark movies. Got introduced to many authors through the movies series and for 15 years have read the book series. My favorite authors... charlaineharris.com/ connieshelton.com www.cozy-mystery.com/joanne-fluke.html Joanne Fluke Hannah Swenson (Allison Sweeney; Days of our Lives)
I just picked up meet your baker after seeing your video. I read it in 48h. I really enjoyed it. Thanks for the recommendations.
That makes my heart sooooooo happy!!! It’s such a wonderful series and the author is amazingly kind!
Thank you for the recommendation. I'm just starting cozy mysteries. This was great.
Yay! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Welcome to the cozy side of the internet!
I’m in this cozy mysterie TH-cam loop. It’s great to get all these great recomendations.
I’m so glad you’re enjoying it!!!!!
Yay! Added these to my tbr. Thank you!
You're so welcome!

I have read Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder and loved it! Those other ones sound amazing though! I’ll have to check them out!
Just read that last week. I swear, I don't get the appeal.
And that’s totally okay. I actually never read the rest of the series. I love the Hallmark movie version of it.
@@Courtagonist - I'm reading Death on Tap, by Ellie Alexander now. So much better!
@fuzzyhook39 anything and everything by Ellie Alexander is golden!

Thank you for the recommendations! I’m always looking for more cozies.
My pleasure!!! I’ve got a ton of recommendations for cozies!!!!
The colors of the books behind you are so cute! You also look really good in dark green. Thanks for the recommendations!

Adding all to my long TBR list. I have only read a few cozy mysteries. Going to join you in April. Just bought Assault and pepper.
Soooooo excited!!!! I hope you enjoy it!!’n
I love Mysteries with an older sleuth for example Elizabeth Spanns Mrytle Clover series. Do you know of any that are similar? I'm caught up on her series and waiting for each book to come out.

thank you so much for the recommendations. I just started to get into 2 of the 5 but I am so glad you recommended the others I will look into them.

I want to get more into the genre, and I might consider picking up Curiosity Thrilled the Cat, since I have a cat (and a dog, but that is unrelated).
You should! It’s such a fun series to read! I have two cats and two dogs!!!
I am addicted to these not so we'll written cat cozys by Lydia Adamson. If any one knows of a similar other than Rita Mae's, I would love to hear from you.
I can look more into them. What about that series pulls you in? The more things you can give me the quicker I can help find another series like that.
Ate there any Male centered cozy mysteries?
Great question! We are getting more and more. There is a stay at home dad mystery series!
I read meet your baker and it was so fun
Yay!! I’m soooo glad that you enjoyed it!
I have Pleating for Mercy on my shelf waiting to be read! I guess I was on point for my beginner self, haha. :D
Yes ma’am! You are rocking it!!! Getting into the cozy experience! ❤️❤️❤️
All of these books you’ve mentioned sounds so fun and I’m adding them to my TBR list! :)

I really want to get more into mystery novels! I read ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ last year and really enjoyed it! Good video :)
Thank you!!! If you liked Murder She Wrote, you should check out her book And Then There Were None. It was my first Agatha Christie and I LOVED IT!
