Damn these guys sound incredible. There's no doubt that these guys set a high standard for honesty, integrity, and meaning through music. As our friend Randy said, one of the best bands of our time. And Vheissu was unreal. A bold move most bands wouldn't dare make, and those that may would't pull it off like Thrice. They carved out a new niche with every album. To me, they can do no wrong.
this band has been an important part of my life since high school. I am 31 now and have seen them live every chance I get and will see them again in July. It is a true shame that this isnt what gets played on the radio. examples of amazing music and thought process for music like this are rare. i appreciate every sound these guys ever made. Seeing their music grow up as i have has been a true gift
I love how Thrice can go from a heavy electric to a simple acoustic song to nearly every one of their songs. They play just as well live as they do in the studio....simply put Thrice is amazing.
I'm not sure what my favorite Thrice song is, but this is definitely my favorite version of any song that isn't the original. I've been listening to this since the day it was posted and it will never get old.
@WoohaDude - I'm the guy the recorded and mixed this one, as well as the vast majority of the "At: Guitar Center" series here on You Tube. Those are actually KSM 137's on the guitars and I use the built-in pres on my Digi003. I had a good amount of signal going into my PT LE rig without hitting the red, then had a lot of fun once i went into mix mode. Glad you like it!
This will always be my favorite song of theirs. Reminds me of my life with addiction and specifically my wife that stuck around through all the bullshit. Absolutely beautiful.
Our lives built on tin cans and string But the cornerstone laid is a wondrous and beautiful thing Sure in the ground While the North wind is taking its toll You have helped me to find my way back and to anchor my soul Safe in the sound Oh you know me Oh and I know you And I know that We can see this through I'm brack, baring my bones Said if we heard the howling I'd run out to face it alone To meet it half way But I've still got badges to earn So keep sifting my soul Cause I think that I'm starting to learn To love you that way Oh you know me Oh and I know you And I know that We can see this through It's true that you could snap my neck I trust you'll save my life instead Cause our love is a loyalty sworn If we hold to our hope Then I know we can weather the storm Whatever they say Come what may Oh you know me Oh and I know you And I know that We can see this through
This song always makes me think of my girlfriend and how much i love her. Whenever we go through rough times, I listen to this song and it comforts me into knowing that everything will be ok. Thanks for giving me the strength to put my shit aside and really see the specialness thats in front of me.
This band gave me some of my favorite music ever that I will always have and can return to it and listen again and again. The least I can do for them in return for defining music for me for about 7 years of my life is buy an $11 collectors vinyl with two really awesome versions of two really awesome songs.
People who listen to Thrice don't just like them, we fucking LOVE them. I cannot get enough of their music See you in London guys, your show will be incredible
and I think thats what theyve given themselves =) I saw them on the farewell tour last night, and they all looked so happy. Especially Teppei and Dustin.
It's almost like a tribute to all their fans. Whether you're newer or have been there since the beginning, as long as you listen to their music, that's all they ask.
That's badass. I looked up the lyrics right now so that I can actually see all of the songs, and I found Atlantic, Phoenix Ignition, the Whaler in addition to what I mentioned before. The name of the some fits it well ;)
I think each of the band members losing a parent in such a short span of time made them more greatly realize the value of family (though I'm sure they didn't take it for granted to begin with). I'm sure it was a big part of their decision.
@kpardi2 It would be sad, but I would understand. They've given us a good 10 years or so. Plus, I don't think they would (or could) stay away from music. They would probably release solo albums, or just whatever else they work on, and probably get together after officially ending and just playing some shows for the fans.
@kpardi2 That's the rumor on the street. Plus there's that article where they're talking about spending more time w/ their fams when Tepp moved. Make sure you catch them in concert
Such an amazing song. But the fact that they are writing an anthology that is a conglomeration of some of their songs makes me worry that Thrice is soon going to come to an end, which in my opinion would be a tragedy. They are the best band of the past 20 years and always show perfection musically and lyrically in every song. I couldn't picture living without the anticipation of my faovrite band putting out a new masterpiece.
@foodstamp73 Yeah, I didn't see at it first then I listened to it more. This is made up of 6 different Thrice songs: Atlantic - "tin cans and string" Flags of Dawn (or probably, more The Whaler) - "north wind is taking its toll...anchor my soul" In Years to Come - "baring my bones...meet it halfway" Silhouette - "keep sifting my soul" Hold Fast Hope - "if we hold to our hope" Trust - "snap my neck...trust you'll save my life instead" The Weight - "our love is a loyalty sworn...come what may"
@gemevieya they aren't sell outs, they write their own music. They don't have ghost writers so their managers know they'll make money. The most beautiful music comes from the soul, not from greed; that is what is wrong with the music industry today.
Anyone else catch that it's an anthology of a bunch of previous Thrice songs (lyrics from songs prior). Might be really obvious but I thought it was an amazing idea.
Basically they're taking a very long break to spend time with family and such. "we will be taking a break from being a full-time band, and the upcoming tour in the Spring will be the last one for the foreseeable future." tis a quote from their site
I cannot count how many times I've came back to this over the last 10 years
It's nearing the end of 2024.. WYA?!
Damn these guys sound incredible. There's no doubt that these guys set a high standard for honesty, integrity, and meaning through music. As our friend Randy said, one of the best bands of our time. They are an amazing band.
@@featherstorm6082 Yeah, this Band has talent. Refreshing to listen to with a hard underline.
I love how Thrice can go from a heavy electric to a simple acoustic song to nearly every one of their songs. They play just as well live as they do in the studio....simply put Thrice is amazing.
I really hope this song has brought some peace and Hope in such a challenging year.
I'm not sure what my favorite Thrice song is, but this is definitely my favorite version of any song that isn't the original. I've been listening to this since the day it was posted and it will never get old.

i love whoever mic'd this
Music the way it is intended to be written; with PASSION. Thrice, thank you so much for all the years you've come out with timeless masterpieces.
How can anyone not like this? it's amazing
This will always be my favorite song of theirs. Reminds me of my life with addiction and specifically my wife that stuck around through all the bullshit. Absolutely beautiful.
Lovely sentiment, thank you for sharing.
Over the past 10 years I come back to this somehow or another. Sucha dope song
Dude!!! This song!!! theres no words that could discribe the feelings!!!
Our lives built on tin cans and string
But the cornerstone laid is a wondrous and beautiful thing
Sure in the ground
While the North wind is taking its toll
You have helped me to find my way back and to anchor my soul
Safe in the sound
Oh you know me
Oh and I know you
And I know that
We can see this through
I'm brack, baring my bones
Said if we heard the howling
I'd run out to face it alone
To meet it half way
But I've still got badges to earn
So keep sifting my soul
Cause I think that I'm starting to learn
To love you that way
Oh you know me
Oh and I know you
And I know that
We can see this through
It's true that you could snap my neck
I trust you'll save my life instead
Cause our love is a loyalty sworn
If we hold to our hope
Then I know we can weather the storm
Whatever they say
Come what may
Oh you know me
Oh and I know you
And I know that
We can see this through
Thanks

I love this version, love the album version too, but this one isn't on Spotify so I need to remind myself to come back here every once and awhile.
I love this song acoustic! You can hear the harmonies they use and how advanced they are. I LOVE YOU, THRICE!
LOVE THRICE!!! it blows my mind just how musically talented and imaginative they are! chills..every single time
@imaustingood Our in house engineer. He is good!
I sing and play this to my 5month old baby belly. I just love this song so much!
This song makes me happy. It always makes me smile all the way through the whole song. SO AMAZING!
Love these guys, and I did not live to far from this Guitar Center. Damn I wish I knew they were there!
@theexit148 Thrice is releasing a 7" of these songs in January. Check their website in early December to pre-order.
@GuitarCenterTV this is the best version by far. thanks for the upload.
I love how Thrice has written not one, but multiple songs in 3/4. so freaking amazing!!!

This is absolutely incredible,
i haven't heard thrice for about 5 years lol ...
and then i stumble on this .. what a treat :)
This band gave me some of my favorite music ever that I will always have and can return to it and listen again and again. The least I can do for them in return for defining music for me for about 7 years of my life is buy an $11 collectors vinyl with two really awesome versions of two really awesome songs.
Dustin's voice is just pure MAGIC.......................
i actually got choked up. they are my favorite band - Luke of Awaking Mercury
Love you Guys! Been a fan since the beginning :) Your music makes my day better :)
His voice sounds so good in this! Your the man Dustin!
It truly depresses me knowing that I'll never ever hear a song better than this, or a band more genius than thrice. Fuck.
People who listen to Thrice don't just like them, we fucking LOVE them. I cannot get enough of their music
See you in London guys, your show will be incredible
and I think thats what theyve given themselves =) I saw them on the farewell tour last night, and they all looked so happy. Especially Teppei and Dustin.
this song is amazing. I like the way it's filmed too.
@GuitarCenterTV No, he is great! Best I've heard in a long time.
his voice gives me chills.
This song!! I can't get over this or Major/Minor for that matter, I feel like they really nailed this album
The sound is so awesome!!!
Loved the progression of these guys, quality band
Damn I love this band.
Hello from Brixton in London
this song helps me to anchor my soul
It's almost like a tribute to all their fans. Whether you're newer or have been there since the beginning, as long as you listen to their music, that's all they ask.
I don't know how, but I want this song played at my wedding.
@Anonymous fuck that we kings are taking back the fun thats our day too fym
I’m kicking myself for not using this in my wedding
My wife and did our first dance to this, this acoustic version to be exact !
Thrice=Perfectly Amazing :D
That's badass. I looked up the lyrics right now so that I can actually see all of the songs, and I found Atlantic, Phoenix Ignition, the Whaler in addition to what I mentioned before. The name of the some fits it well ;)
@tp1kenobi I wouldn't miss the chance to see such an amazing band again. If they were to retire I couldn't imagine it being forever.
I'm always thinking of someone I love playing this for me. I don't know this person yet. I just hope it will happen once in my life
That's some awesome production. Well done.
@GuitarCenterTV Props to him, sounds amazing.
Beautiful
simply amazing!!!
I can't understand why this band is not the real thing for the media. They're that big. They are THE BAND.
so i'll miss thrice for a while :( my favorite band...dustin said its over for a while after the tour...
love this song
@GuitarCenterTV. i got the 7", too bad it didn't include all three songs, but these recordings are just fantastic.
They're just too good. Too good.
I love it thrice never fails me
silhouette, trust, the weight, children of dust, the weight, etc. etc. they made anthology as a conglomerate of songs summing up their career
Made me cry.
@ 00.32 *Dustin looks at Teppei* : "You're so beautiful"
*Teppei looks back*: " I know DK, I know"
I lol so hard
This album was not the Thrice I knew at all but it's pretty damn good.
This version is worth putting in a special addition.. Amazing :)
Compare this to the same songs recorded for Hurley and the sound is amazing, so much emotion. Cannot wait for london. Even if it is the last time :(
I think each of the band members losing a parent in such a short span of time made them more greatly realize the value of family (though I'm sure they didn't take it for granted to begin with). I'm sure it was a big part of their decision.
good song! more acoustic stuff!
@kpardi2 It would be sad, but I would understand. They've given us a good 10 years or so. Plus, I don't think they would (or could) stay away from music. They would probably release solo albums, or just whatever else they work on, and probably get together after officially ending and just playing some shows for the fans.
so amazing,
These guys are gonna play music til the day they die! Very pristine.
@theexit148 Their Facebook page now has a link to their merch store for the vinyl of these recordings. Limited to 2000.
I'm hoping they will still release some stuff here and there. I know he is planning on releasing a solo album.
- Luke of Awaking Mercury
@kpardi2 That's the rumor on the street. Plus there's that article where they're talking about spending more time w/ their fams when Tepp moved. Make sure you catch them in concert
Major/Minor that is all my friends. Give it a chance its amazing.
If thrice made an acoustic album my life would be complete...
@foodstamp73 Yepc and confirmed when I read the notes on the vinyl! :) Love Dusitn.
Love the dissonance in the melody at the beginning of each chorus.
@foodstamp73
Yeah, I didn't see at it first then I listened to it more. This is made up of 6 different Thrice songs:
Atlantic - "tin cans and string"
Flags of Dawn (or probably, more The Whaler) - "north wind is taking its toll...anchor my soul"
In Years to Come - "baring my bones...meet it halfway"
Silhouette - "keep sifting my soul"
Hold Fast Hope - "if we hold to our hope"
Trust - "snap my neck...trust you'll save my life instead"
The Weight - "our love is a loyalty sworn...come what may"
dustin's singing gets better and better
J'adore ce morceau :)
thrice deserves both grammy or even a monument and happiness for a lifetime.. it's a complement dude not a criticism..
@gemevieya they aren't sell outs, they write their own music. They don't have ghost writers so their managers know they'll make money. The most beautiful music comes from the soul, not from greed; that is what is wrong with the music industry today.
someone needs to thank the sound person, fucking perfect!
@ultrablue123 haha 3/4 isn't an uncommon time signature by any means... but yeah, this song really sounds great in 3/4
Dustin's new band The Modern Post is also very good!
@theexit148
Thrice is THE BEST in the industry right now.
Anyone else catch that it's an anthology of a bunch of previous Thrice songs (lyrics from songs prior). Might be really obvious but I thought it was an amazing idea.
Dustin inspires me to grow out a patchy beard of my own
Basically they're taking a very long break to spend time with family and such. "we will be taking a break from being a full-time band, and the upcoming tour in the Spring will be the last one for the foreseeable future." tis a quote from their site
Nice song.
❤ thrice
Try going to Zamzar . com. You can turn any youtube video to an mp3, no downloads, and no viruses.
dustin provides the groundwork, the meat of the song and teppei adds that quirkiness that makes them unique
@WonderExperience A grammy doesnt mean crap, they deserve happiness for lifetimes to last, because thats what theyve given me
@imaustingood yeah this has a fantastic sound
Is there a download for these in MP3 or something? This is amazing! Thrice is probably one of the best in the industry right now.
I saw a little bit of Silhouette, Trust, and The Weight in this song, lyrics-wise. Anybody hear anything else in this that I might've missed? :D
This song is SOOOO delicious.
