Steve thank you very much for this work of art you and your team created. It should be here tomorrow and I can’t wait to see it in person. Guys if any of you are on the fence about the work this shop produces it is by far nothing short of amazing and methodical. Thanks again
Top class Steve! Dig west coast heavy haul set ups the most and this is big kid! Hope it gets matching expando and he yanks 9 axles! Would look soooo nice seeing a 657 or big D10 on a matching trailer!
Steve, I’m am in the same boat as this guy. I own an excavation company and sometimes we need a truck with a shorter wheel base. I’ll definitely be calling soon to get on the list!
Dealers, salesman and customers should be up in arms at Peterbilt for ending a classic. Maybe they should wake up.Beautiful Pete Steve, thanks for the video.
I build them myself. As for the trailer I have completely refurbished a 07 cozad 16 tire expando wide neck that I did and I also shortened it 5 feet I’ll post pics once it’s all done
Not to defend the man at the helm but let's be fair, a lot of these issues are a result of COVID, Putin's decision to invade a neighbor, Xi Jinping clamping down and mismanaging their economy, and of course the Trump tariffs on Chinese manufacturing in 3017-19 which has forces a lot of firms to pull out of their economy. These are larger than American economic policy. Just saying.
They built it almost 20 years and the 379 had a full 20 year run. No manufacturer will build the same truck indefinitely. If it's because of the govt, I'm sure there's more than just that reason as to why a new model is coming.

Hope you enjoy it! Sure was a fun build! Best of luck!
That is a really good looking ride!!!
I think so too!
Wish more trucks were spec'd like this!

That's a classic.
Chad that’s a beautiful truck. It can’t wait to haul some scrapers and dozers.
2 grand air horns off the roof...Gavin newsom love this
Gee, that is an interesting amount of slider for a twin screw but admittedly I've not done that kind of hauling.
Up in the mountains and being off the beaten path he needs to be ready for about anything.
So Tuff 😎🏁

Heavy haul California boys💪🏻
Does Peterbilt offer, a Extended Day Cab...Option ? I'm 6 foot 4, 215 lbs
What’s kind of stacks are those and what’s the height on them
I should be ready to have a heavy haul truck next year, I would like to talk to you Steve.
Sounds good
How much do a truck like that weigh?
I still hate to see the 379 389 model Peterbilt go
379 went away almost 17 years ago 🤔
@chakagillis well I guess if you need a lesson on 379 389 you should have known that the inside of a 379 389 are pretty much the same truck
@@timrum7219 no lesson needed. 379 ended a long time ago
👍👍👍👌✌️
Only change i would do is swap the airtrac for Neway air ride had it on my 14 388 and miss it all the time
NuWay is definitely the standard these days. Nothing wrong with the AT though.
Zine coated paint, on the frame. Interesting.
That one got some meat on it
Do you know who’s building the ramps for it? RACKLEY’s , Cozad ,Murray what kind of trailer does he pull with it? just being nosy I guess. 😊

Awesome looking forward to seeing it. I’ve pulled those 16 Tire, RACKLEY’s Murray and Cozad for years and even a nine and a 13 axle.
Hauling a D6 i would guess
All that and you didn’t start it ?
So sick of hearing about supply chain issues. Its amazing how in 4 years, one man at the helm of our country could bring us to this point.

Big mistake for Peterbilt to be doing away with this model truck giving in to dam government 💥👎🖕
