Travis - I just found your videos and sent you a message on your other video. Are you available for consult? My wife and I are preparing to build a modified Earthship Biotecture style home in Northern Nevada and we need to live in our fifth wheel off grid while we do it. I appreciated the videos and would like to know more about how to install. We purchased a 4.6 altE system that we need to temporarily install in a 40' container with the panels mounted on top that will supply power to the fifth wheel. It looked as though you and your family were living in your RV as well. Thanks for any assistance! Great videos!
I'll give that a try next time I'm messing with my batteries. Although I'm like 99% sure the BMS just averages each string and then averages all the strings. And as far as the percentage state of charge that is either the state of charge of the lowest battery or else there is a different setting to instead show the state of charge of the average which is what I have chosen in the BMS setup
Hi Travis, I like your build! I am planning on the same system with the MPP 6500kw 48v with the Valence batts. I have batteries, BMS and dc/dc converter already and inverter is on the way. Would you be willing to share your wiring diagram for the BMS, converter, charge resister, solenoid with me?
The wiring diagram is mostly self explanatory if you look at the battery user manual. The only thing I'll make a mention of is whether or not you want the system to cut power to the bms completely when it decides to open the contactor. I'd share the diagram except I don't have one. I just reference the user manual as I build it.
Travis would you mind creating a video of your larger battery BANK? Please create a video of how you modified the HV BMS to work as a LV BMS? Also a list and links to the parts you used to get your Valence Battery bank working. Thanks
It took me months to figure out how to alter and Flash the BMS. It's not easy and people need a all-in-one solution. Most people won't be capable of doing it themselves. So I am not sharing that information but I am selling completed units.
@@SiriusSolar what's the asking price for completed units. I would like 2. I want to have a backup. I see them selling for $250 on ebay. I've got 20 of the valence batteries that I'm hooking up to 2 sol-ark 12k's.
@@jrtatonka My flashed units work just as stock should with protection for over and under V on the cell basis. As well as temperature protection under and over with different settings for charging versus discharging. Over amperage protection. Cell balancing and battery balancing. Everything else is working as well like the analogue and digital outputs to control indicator lights. I've located a method for charting and monitoring remotely from computer and phone app With additional hardware that's not Included with my base model shown here. " Must purchase that directly from supplier". I'm Selling the all-in-one control box like the video locally for 800 and haven't had an extra unit to place on eBay for auction. I am curious what the market would bring. Hawaii area code 557-9058 I would sell just the flashed converted BMS by itself for 500 or 400 if you have a trade in.
@@jg3697 Unfortunately when they arrived nobody stopped them When it was easy. It took about 20 years but now they've taken over the entire island. And about 10 years for the fire ants to take over. Now we can't climb The Banyan trees for fun without getting stung by fire ants. And everywhere we lay down except below the High tide line Is unsafe.
I put together this entire thing for my friend. It's pretty much my Project so yes I'll be learning how to use this China inverter as well as all my others.

You can call me 5579058 With a Hawaii area code
Did you ever try calling me yet?
Just for s&g take the number 4 battery and put it in the number 1 position and you will likely see the amp meters are correct.

How many batteries?
@@SiriusSolar I have 16 batteries.
can you recommend what contactors and precharge i should be using? Tks Travis
@@davebrown4059 I got some 6 ohm cheap resistors from eBay For the pre charge. Probably anywhere from 6 up to 20 ohm 40 W resistor will work.

I've been postponing showing my large set up because it's not finalised. There still crazy wires everywhere & it looks like my kids messy bedroom.

@@jrtatonka The eBay units are not converted and more importantly not flashed.

You must be in Hawaii? Are those coqui frogs?

Your site or someone else, if yours like you needed another inverter to mess around with. lol

I messed with this inverter for a bit and I have to say I am impressed with its versatility Especially at this cheaper price point
