Chelsea are close to signing another young talent, 18-year-old forward Omari Kellyman, from Aston Villa for around £19 million. This comes despite recent financial restrictions placed on the club.
This is not Chelsea's first raid on Aston Villa's youth academy. They signed Carney Chukwuemeka last year for £20 million. Negotiations are nearly finalized with Kellyman, just some minor details need to be worked out.
Kellyman is a versatile attacker who has mostly played center-forward. Despite only making six senior appearances for Villa, he impressed with 8 goals in 14 U21 matches. This transfer follows Villa buying Chelsea defender Ian Maatsen for £35 million just days ago.
