Who do YOU think is a hidden gem in this Chelsea team? 🤔
I was thinking about how Maresca's system could hurt Gusto but also develop him. With Kovacic gone, Chelsea don't have a player in center of midfield who can break the press by carryng the ball. It will take time, but if Gusto retrains as a false full-back, then who knows. I still find it hard to look at his bad crosses anyway.

Angelo Gabriel
He's still very young and raw but you can see that he's a different sort. Enormous talent and mentality to match.
Carney's injury has been not only devastating for him but also for the Club.I rate him very highly as the best attacking midfielder in the team,very good dribbler of the ball,who opens tight spaces with ease, great creativity and eyes on goal.He could easily have scored thirty goals last season if he were fit.I hope he returns next season much stronger.
It remains to be hoped that Maresca will indeed be a dogmatist and will set up a scheme with a pair of eights. Chukwuemeka has a chance to break through only this season - in the future the roster in these positions will be greatly expanded.

I feel like Aňgelo is also overlooked/forgotten, definitely enjoyed watching him and Santos play in preseason
Definitely. Only issue is we have so many left footed RWs in the team I see no pathway for him :/

Angelo is the one I am most excited seeing in the first team in our midfield as a CAM or no.8, due to his vision, creativity, accurate passes and defensive work rate, he does it naturally and effortlessly too, he could have at least 15G/A next season if he keeps fit and plays regularly, he could be our own Odegaard, Modric or Wirtz.
I think Angelo Gabriel should be tested this season as well... The kid isnt that explosive,in a sense of dribbling BUT he has a great vision and looks for the final pass. And he s ONLY 19🤔last year in preseason he impressed me the most.
Angelo is the player that can save us from splashing so much on the right winger role

Carney is a baller. We must find a place for him in the team. Casadei deserves to be involved and Santos is little behind him…..

Probably because rumours of a new striker being bought continue to rage, and also because Nkunku would easily win the competition on the left flank.
Also nkunku isn’t a striker he’s more behind a striker. He would mainly do better as a CAM or LW cutting in
He's what I'd call a 9.5 - somewhere between a 9 and a 10 - he can certainly play as a striker (especially one tasked with dropping deep like we expect Enzo will employ) but I wouldn't say it's his best position.
@@monocfc yea I don’t get the best out of him as a striker that’s why I say he’s not one.
I've been thinking for a long time about how and what players could play in Maresca's system, but for some reason I didn't think of the idea of using Casadei in the role of Havertz as a central striker. Thanks, that blew my mind 🤯 I'm now really looking forward to seeing that move from Maresca at least once or twice.
Genuinely I think he'd be a fantastic CF/SS type of player, similar to how Dele Alli used to play when he was firing for Tottenham. His ability to get up for high balls is basically second to none and if he was reliably used I could see him being a clutch bench option if we are chasing a game and need a goal
Santos, Datro Fofana, Angelo, Casadie, Devid Washington are all amazing young talents we should do our best to keep.
