Deni !!! Appreciate the honesty, I think you're generally a bit over positive (just your nature to see the good in things 😊) so when you've got a more negative review, I know it's coming from a place of honesty ! Appreciate that so much!
Hi Deni, Yes, we have tried several times and honestly have finally thrown in the towel. Since its inception it has fallen flat every time. It needs a serious menu and kitchen overhaul. We actually call it the Tonys equivalent in Disneyland. I wish I could have warned you. Thanks for the review and big hugs.
I've dined here several times, and every time has been a huge disappointment! It's also very telling that there are almost always reservations available ( clearly not a fan favorite).
You are much better than me, I would have never taken that table. I’d feel like I was in the way the entire time and wouldn’t have been able to relax. I ate here back in 2009 and I think there was literally only lasagnas on the menu. I remember it being fine but nothing special.
I quite agree. We gave them one last try last weekend and were quite disappointed yet again. We were hoping that the first visit was a fluke, it was not. We'll stick with Carthay Lounge from here on out.
It’s never been the same since Covid. We went there a couple of times pre-Covid and it was amazing. Then they dumbed it down. I’m surprised you even had bread service, now it’s just not the same. So disappointing because the location is just lovely.💖
Hi Deni and Brian!! So appreciate your honesty!! Have never been to Wine Country Trattoria and have not been to DLR since 2007. However, our favorite Italian Restaurants in WDW are Via Napoli for Pizza and Trattoria al Forno which according to Hubby, has excellent Chicken Parm!!
So sorry you had a bad meal. We ate their in Jan and had a good meal. The salmon was good as was the calamari. Our service was fine. We were seated outside on a chilly day and had to ask to have the portable heater turned on which seemed like something that should have been done before we sat down.
Very helpful! Going to Disneyland Resort in May and this is good to know as we plan a few relaxing sit down meals. Thank you for being honest and kind hearted!
I was going to say I loved the chicken parmigiana at Macaroni Grill. I always got the eggplant parmigiana but they don’t have it anymore. I’ve never eaten at Wine Country before. Love your reviews.
Thank you for the honest review, Deni. A thick cutlet in any dish, is a nightmare for me. Chicken cutlets must be pounded thin. I try to get mine as thin as possible before breading or battering them. It’s definitely a sensory thing for me. My family is also in agreement. We had lunch there years ago, but I can’t recall how the food was. We did sit outside.
It's so sad because this place used to be one of me and my mom's favorites 10 years ago. But honestly my last meal there was very lackluster :/ Sorry to hear you had to go through the same scenario.
I’m a local and have eaten a Wine Country quite a bit. I generally sit outside, spring or summer, for late lunch not dinner. I like the shrimp Alfredo and usually the seasonal salad. I would not recommend it if you are on a budget but want splurge. I’m glad you sent back the dish. I feel like people need to do that more when $$$ and not good. Best meal all around every time is still Cafe Orleans although not Italian. Their menu has fantastic seasonal changes. Carthay both the patio and lounge (different menus) are on my special occasion wish list.
Years ago we ate there and had a special meal on the patio, but on our most recent trip in 2022, we got the World of Color dinner package and had a very disappointing meal. We won’t be back.
Love the foreshadowing at the beginning - eek! Regarding chicken parm, I would recommend asking wherever you go and order that, "how is the chicken prepared". I do that with key lime pie but I ask what color it is. That eliminates my disappointment by having GREEN PIE brought to the table. I think the is the worst meal you've ever reviewed, and you still did it with class.
Hey Deni! I would’ve sent the chicken back if it wasn’t good. My cousin judges italian restaurants by their spaghetti & meatballs. I love your reviews. ❤️❤️❤️
I hate that you had a bad experience, Deni! Wine Country Trattoria has usually been a solid dining option for Disneyland trips but looks like we might be skipping it when we visit in May.
Hi Deni & Brian, I never liked Chicken Parmigiana. My wife and I have always enjoyed our food at the Wine Country Trattoria. I have never tried the Chicken Parmigiana at that restaurant. I wonder if that is one of a few entrees that is not that good. You and Brian may want to try Naples Ristorante in Downtown Disney. We also enjoy our meals at that location.
We ate there back in Jan 2020 as part of an ABD trip. They set up a private space for us with a buffet and it was quite good. But it appears that isn’t indicative of the normal menu. Neither of those entrees looked good. Where was the sauce? And no one wants a big thick hunk of chicken in chicken parm. Thanks for the honest review!
Based on the experience of friends and other reviewers, I’ve long thought of this place as good for a glass of wine outside and maybe an appetizer. Seems like that holds. Haven’t done a lot of Disney Italian dining, but I do love Via Napoli. Was last there in August 2023 and everyone in my group enjoyed it (although it was noisy!).
Best Italian @ Disneyland is at Downtown Disney Naples Ristorante. It is about a 7 out of 10. Wine Country Trattoria was about 3 out of 10 when we ate there in March 2023. I also ordered the chicken parm it mas very sub-par. My families meals too were just meh. Such a shame since the restaurant has beautiful patio dining.
It’s bizarre that Disney clearly tries so hard in most aspects of their culinary department to at least have the appearance of authenticity and they have multiple restaurants sending out chicken parm with, seemingly, straight from frozen, not pounded flat, chicken breasts. That is basically universally viewed as incorrect, it’s not really a personal preference thing. Its a pretty ubiquitous dish for them to be doing so poorly; particularly when it’s not really in the interest of time or cost savings.
Granted, things might have changed but I ate there a year ago, sat in outside patio. Food was delicious - salad, an appetizer & glass of wine. Ambiance - felt spacious and comfortable as opposed to many of the other DCA eateries. Excellent service. I’d certainly try it again. Sorry you traveled so far to have a disappointing outcome.

So glad you sent that chicken back Deni! A cutlet isn’t a cutlet if it isn’t thin! It’s a fact, not a matter of preference.
Amen. Thanks for your support! ❤

That’s a great way of looking at it…it’s TOTALLY the Tony’s of DLR.
Thank you Deni for your honest review. For our family it’s Il Mulino at the Swan. Have never had a bad meal there.
Thanks so much for watching! I'm so glad that you enjoy Il Mulino! :)
That table looks like it was just plopped in the aisle. I don't think I could sit there. I would feel like everyone was looking at me
It was definitely an awkward spot. Soooo weird from the word go.
That thumbnail is telling it all lol
😂 yepppp
I told her it has “Mom is very disappointed in you” vibes. 🤣
I just had my own disappointing over $30 meal so I get it lol.

You’re right about the available reservations. Bless it.

LOVE Trattoria al Forno
Love your videos!
Oh my goodness! Thank you SOOOO MUCH! ❤️

Glad we decided to go somewhere else while we were there for the races. Thanks for the review
Thin curlers are a must!

I had a lovely birthday meal there but it was Pre-Covid. Not hearing good things lately.
Glad to see you back, miss you on the dis

On a mission to find carbs… who knew it could be an epic fail 😂😂😂 xoxoxo Deni!!! ❤❤❤
It really was. 😢
Ate there last September for the wine selection. Also agree, I left very disappointed with the food they provide. It was not worth it.
Trattoria and Napa Rose are the only restaurants i haven't dined at in the DLR. Glad to see i can skip this one 😅
Napa Rose is on my must-eat list!

Well I must say this is the first time I’ve ever heard a negative word from Deny!! I’ll steer clear of this place.

I had one of the worst meals ever in a Disney park there, won’t ever go back.

I can’t eat a thick piece of chicken ughhh
I’m so glad I’m not the only one!
Ate there 10 (?) years ago. Very average and over priced for what you got.
It's such a shame that it was a whomp whomp even back then :(
This restaurant has suffered forever... the food is not good, the seating is terrible, the menu is lacking....it is a pass!

I'll kick Brian in the batter! Lol...no...no I won't lol
🤣🤣🤣 I probably deserve it.
LOL, Chip! 🤣
If the chicken breast is not pounded thin, then it will be harder to marinate, and it won’t cook evenly.
notoriously blah. Only go here to get World of Color tix
