You got such a good eye, he was called "The Divo of Juarez" referring to Ciudad Juarez where he started his career. Juan Gabriel's shows would last 4-6 hours. In this show this was his last performance so you could only imagine what a quality of a legendary artist he was. He composed around 2000 songs. Great reactions, cant wait for more.

I saw him once. Even with a complete orchestra, choir and mariachi, he had complete and absolute control of that stage. This is how it's supposed to be. Some singers have to fit and follow the musical constraints behind them. In his case the orchestra had to follow him. Can you imagine the amount of practice and strategies the orchestra had to have at a moments notice? This is what he expected and demanded of all of them. Remember, this was HIS song (Perfectionist). A genius!

He is definitely a Maestro.

JUAN GABRIEL ❤️💪🏻 no era uno de los mejores era el mejor y punto.
En México hemos tenido grandes voces, desde Luis Miguel, José José, Carlos Cuevas, Javier Solís, Jorge, Pedro, Alejandro y Vicente entre muchos. Grandes compositores cómo Armando Manzanero, José Alfredo, el mismo Alberto, Napoleón etc y aunque muchos se confundan con algunos que componen y cantan, no hay comparación, el era el único que lo hacía todo bien, cantar, componer, bailar y ser un inigualable showman, con la sensibilidad y genio musical para inventar y reinventar en cada concierto, en cada presentación y dar una entrega total al público de si mismo. Me atrevo a decir que no hay uno como el en el mundo y que solo por las barreras del idioma no fue conocido en todo el mundo.

Hi there! I'm not sure if anybody has translated the lyrics, or if you both have looked for them, but a quick summary: he is talking about how he knew not of sadness or pain until he met this person, and then they broke his heart, and he is moving on and doesn't want to see them anymore.
A thing about mexican singers and culture: it is said that we mexicans sing when we cry, and that's why you can see how Mexican performers seems to feel what they are singing, not just showing off their talent. We also tend to sing as a way to connect with others during hard times (example, during the 2017 earthquakes, you can find videos of mexicans singing Cielito Lindo while clearing up rubble and looking for survivors).

Hello guys I just watched your reaction to Juan Gabriel singing hasta que te conocí. Juanga as he is known or El Divo de Juárez wrote over 1,800 songs many he wrote for other artist. One of his biggest songs is entitled Amor Eterno it is a very emotional song and had a personal meaning for him even though he wrote it for another artist he performed it as well so I would highly recommend that song for your next Juan Gabriel reaction. Thank you and salutations from Arizona USA P.S. this video is a full concert that he did in Mexico City at the National Institute of Fine Arts. He was the first artist of popular music given permission to perform there.
