As an Indonesian who was born in Papua, i strongly convince the world that that today our government doesn't left my island behind in terms of the advancing the development of the economy of Papua. I believe especially under the reign of Mr. Jokowi Papua is about to be more prosper and obtain the just treatment from our president. There's no country exist without its personal problem, just like the human being.

Even last year's PIF(Pacific Island Forum) summit Australia been criticized for 2 main reasons. One for not promptive action against climate change (banning coal), and 2nd for objecting the Vanuatu plea for West Papua topic discussion into that forum.
China is the giant elephant hidden in the room with aim of dirty political game. China is feeding corrupt Vanuatu leaders to increase its foot hold in oceanic continents, and to challenge Australia. Even Indonesia has dispute with China's artificially created 9-dash-line vis-a-vis North Natuna Sea of Indonesia.

YoBenz Well this is like france supporting independence catalonia from spain because they are ‘more closely related’ than to spain. In this case Vanuatu did this because they believe papuan are the ‘same melanesian race’ as them. But of course Vanuatu didnt say independence papua outright, Vanuatu said about human right abuses in west papua, but everybody know what it really is. What is speculative though it seems some western countries are the one supporting this at least financially they made Vanuatu say it because unlike Indonesia who worked with papuan, their indigenous population has been exterminated, so they cant really say something do they.
