When I attended my first MUN it was absolutely terrifying because I was completely unprepared (no one helped me at all, I didn’t know what a point of information or a resolution was), I nearly spoke throughout the whole experience. I’ll attend my second MUN in a week and I’m terrified and scared ngl. I’m not fluent in English, I’m searching by myself, and I’ll take an important role since one of the topics is nuclear disarmament and I’ll represent one of the countries with the most nuclear arsenal in the world lmao (so it’s almost impossible to be quiet). I just hope everything goes well :(

Present and Present and voting are different.
Present is used for yay, nay or abstain ( in this sense, being neutral )
Where as Present and voting does not include abstain it means one has to take participation in the voting
what does voting mean? What are we voting for and what does yay nay or abstain mean😭 I’m having a hard time and my mun is coming soon

I'll have a mini MUN it just likes one part of selection for joining MUN and I'm so nervous for that, cuz I'm not good in comprehensing or even speaking English. But, I hope I could learn many things there especially about English

I'm going to attend my first MUN and im so excited and nervous. I had never signed up for this, my school had specifically picked me and contacted my parents to agree. I was so surprised but I can understand and adapt to this decision thanks to my confidence in public speeches. However just like any other 14yr old I would get the jitters. @@skyyy_luv hii, it's been so long actually since that MUN, I have attenden 4 MUN by that, I completely forget this comment lol. So for tips, there is few things I can say. Since it is going to be your first experience just don't worry, know that no one is expecting something from you, you are just here to learn, so try to understand the flow of the sessions. Also in general study well for the agenda item!! It's making a huge dif if you really know the topic and what your country is thinking about that. So just relax and have fun, I'm sure you'll like it. Write here after the MUN, i wonder what will hapen 💓💞

I've really been wanting to attend one for quite some time and I really wanna just educate myself more via things like this!! But what is scaring me is the fact that I really can't talk in front of people, like my voice shakes even when I am just talking in my class with people I know and I start to speak English like I have learned it just yesterday 😭 I just hope that it will help me gain more confidence while speaking in front of people! Whats the difference between asking "is there a second" and "all those in favour"?
Evelin, Second means the delicate who have thought about the same thing and All those in favour are those who agree to the motion passed by some other delicate. Hope you understand!😃
1. Moción de país que quiera abrir el debate, preguntan quién más quieren y así
2. Uno puede proponer que haya un tiempo límite, luego otro puede ofrecer hablar primero sobre el tema, dice solo que opina del tema para abrir el debate, puedo pasar el tiempo a la mesa (buscar bien las frases de la guía sobre eso), me delegan el tiempo, digo si estoy a favor de lo que dijeron o puedo usar otro argumento, también puedes usar tu tiempo para que algún delegado te diga una pregunta, y debes contestarla brevemente, también puedes proponer moción para cerrar la lista y proseguir con el debate
Agenda
Ejemplo: moción para que en la agenda el primer tema sea los derechos LGBTQ en Mongolia y el segundo las mujeres en África
Si propongo como dividir el tema con el tiempo, debe ser en base con el tiempo establecido para esa sección.
Moderated Caucus
Cumplir con el tiempo , en orden, se habla a la mesa
Unmoderated caucus
Libre, puedo hacer draft de resoluciones, ir al baño o hablar con otras delegaciones, o mesa
Se puede hacer una moción para extender el tiempo de esta sección c en caso de que no se haya acabado, pedir 5 min. más.
Point (puedo hacer preguntas sobre el proceso o tema ej: cuánto tiempo queda en la sección”
Point of information: cuando quiero aclaración de algo, que draft estamos discutiendo
Right of reloj: cuando atacan directamente a tu delegación lol, defenderse
Luego de este debate otra vez verificar los drafts con el unmoderated caucus
Introducir resolución
Luego que se usó el unmoderated caucus para hacer la propuesta de resolución, que debe tener firma de otras delegaciones, se lo presenta así (luego de pedir moción para presentar): las cabeceras Canadá y Peru, firmantes Venezuela y China , se dice el tema, citas tratados previos, antecedentes etc, buscar ejemplo de resolución
Admendmets (enmiendas) editar partes de la resolución m, mediante moción, si no te parece, y tú hiciste la resolución puedes withdraw la resolución, argumentar porque era importante lo que modificaron (mediante moderado o no moderado) negociar con otros Estados sobre no incluirlo, y volver a introducir la resolución
Votar la resolución
Se discute cómo se va a votar (método) y se vota por eso lol

Second means the delegate who have thought about the same thing and All those in favour are those who agree to the motion passed by some other delegate.
This video made it clear how an actual conference goes. I just don't know what does it mean when a delegate raises their placard when the chair asks "is there a second?" Please explain the purpose of the question.
I was originally looking for a video which showed me some delegate speeches, how many delegates there are, the venue size, and generally an idea of what I'm supposed to expect (to lessen intimidation) this video covered a part of it, but anyone here who can help me find a video?

Based on their sizable role in the country’s demographics, you would think youth and young women specifically in Nigeria should have more of a voice in decision-making processes. Yet, both are often underrepresented and excluded as collaborators in all sectors of society. Nigerian women constitute only 3.6 percent of the national parliament, and none are 35 or younger as of July 2022. Initially, I assumed this shortage of women decision-makers meant young women weren’t pursuing the role. After all, there is a constant call for women’s participation in societal growth, both locally and internationally. With such a public appeal for women to get involved, I figured the problem must be women’s hesitation to delve into action. Some of the information here is actually innacurate. Mainly right of reply. Sure, the chair has some leeway to when he should grant right of replies, but in MUN this should only be used for ad hominem personal character attacks at the delegate themselves NOT the country or character they represent.
