I’ve got my Brother BM2600 in 2014 and I am ready to replace it with this even more high-tech machine. You were right about the tension, because that is my major problem up to this day. 😁
Thank you so much for this extremely informative video! 😇
Hi Geraldine, thanks for the comment.
You will just love the electronic machine - it is just so much nicer than the manual machine - simply because you do not have to adjust tensions to suit the fabric you are working on. And....this is one of the things that can make sewing so much more fun too!

@@SewandCraftStep-by-Step hello
Thank you for the review.
How can I adjust the presser foot pressure on this machine?
Very well presented. I have just acquired this machine and am thankful that I did a good buy. One question: If one can manipulate the length and width of the character stitches . . . is it also possible for the Alphabet? I am curious because the choice comes up when alphabet characters are selected but there's no response when I choose . . .
There is also a picture (line 4/8 of selection) of a smaller block in the corner of the bigger block. One can manipulate it but it appears to make no difference in the actual sewing size. I've tried this while combining a smaller size of a character with a letter . . . the block is manipulated but the actual sewn size all large. Page 2 of the operation manual.
Hi Ede, congratulations - you are going to love this machine more and more as you explore all the options it offers!
Please be sure to Subscribe to my channel and click on the little bell icon, as I am going to be posting more videos with little projects and hints and tips etc.
You might also want to like my facebook page at facebook.com/sewandcraft1/ to be kept up to date about projects and courses.
Alphabet characters can not be adjusted as far as height and width are concerned.
However, you can choose on page 4 of 8 in the settings to stitch the regular size character which is 7mm high - or if you select the smaller block icon on this same page the machine will stitch a 5mm high character.
Note: This setting cannot be applied to the handwriting alphabet character though.
Hope this is helpful.
Kind Regards, Sherine
Very informative... Does this machine do overlock?
Hi Thandiwe,
The machine has several overlock stitches available that are used with the G foot that is supplied with the machine.
The one you would select would depend on the type of fabric you are using.
There is a description of this in the user manual in the table of stitches.
It is not an overlocking stitch as in that of an overlocker - which cuts the fabric as it stitches - but it does look very similar to an overlocker stitch.
There is also a foot that is available to attach to the machine called the side-cutter foot. This cuts as it overlocks - however it is still not identical to the overlocker which is also really much faster - but it is an alternative option.
Here is a link to how the side cutter foot works th-cam.com/video/IeZ-1ZTedxI/w-d-xo.html

Sew and Craft
Hey, can I sew thick layers of denim and scuba with this?
Hi Chioma,
Yes you can, as long as you use the right needle that suits the fabric.
So, for Denim, use a denim needle, and for Scuba use a Stretch 90 needle.
I will be posting more videos like this soon, and also doing other short courses on my new website. (Link below)
(I will also be posting a link to my Free Sewing Machine Needles Guide there later today)
Have a great day.

Hi just a question about the auto thread cutter at the end if stiches, does it still have left over thread afterward or it produce a clean cut so we dont have to cut the thread again? This feature is new to me. Many thanks. 🙏
Hi Jessica,
Thanks for the question.
After the auto thread cutter cuts the thread it will pull the needle thread to the back where it joins with the bobbin thread. It will depend on you as to whether you would like to cut the excess later.
If it is on a garment where seams will be overlocked together - I leave it as the overlocker (serger)will trim it.
If it is after stitching buttons on or making buttonhonles - I don't trim - I place a small drop of seam sealant on the ends to make them extra secure so that they do not ever come undone.
I hope this is helpful.
Have a great day.

How to do darning of torn pants on brother innovos a 150 embroidery machine.

Hi can I check if this machine is suitable for sewing leather?
Hi Kaylen,
You can stitch leather - as long as you have a leather needle in the machine.
The leather needle has a blade that will cut slits into the leather, so that it can penetrate the leather and create stitches.
Other needles will not be able to penetrate as easily, so you will have lots of skipped stitches.
Make sure you use a leather needle only on genuine leather though - not on faux or mock leather.
The A150 is designed as a domestic machine - so if you are making leather projects from softer leather - like for small purses or even jackets then it is possible.
However it is not designed to sew thick leather for satchels and cases all day everyday 😊
I hope this is helpful!

@@pamclarke6785 You are so welcome - if you need any more info, please feel free to contact me at info@sewandcraftstepbystep.com. Have a great day!
@@SewandCraftStep-by-Step thank you. I do live in South Africa. At the moment i still use my moms Elna Supermatic... bought in 1974. It really is an old faithful..that works perfectly .. I have to make my mind up whether i want a new machine or do i need a new machine. But thank you for your help.
@@pamclarke6785 Hi Pam, I completely understand.
I owned the same machine as you currently have many years ago.😀
They work perfectly if you are working on woven fabric - especially natural woven fabric, like calico, denim, cotton linen etc.
So, if that is what you work on mostly, then it is perfect for you.
However, if you want to work on the latest stretch and even synthetic blends of fabric, then the more modern machines handle those better.
To explain why - the older generation machines had 2 points on their feed teeth. Now 2 points are perfect for natural woven fabrics. However when it comes to the more modern fabric (synthetic and stretch) the 2 points "latch" onto the fabric and then it does not feed through as evenly or smoothly. It almost feels as if the fabric is being held back in a sense. They also do not have auto tension - so tensions must be adjusted to suit individual fabric.
With the new generation Brother machine it has 7 points on it's feed teeth - so the finest sheerest and even stretchiest fabric is fed through easily - as is denim and upholstery fabric.
It also has auto-tension, so it will adjust tension to suit the fabric - you don't have to do that.
Then there is the automatic needle threader, built in automatic cutter, lovely bright LED light (no more globes that blow), one step perfect buttonhole and just so much more. (Too much to mention here - so I have mentioned all of the super important features)
I know that some of this might be intimidating - so I supply my Step-by-Step video lessons that are arranged in a logical sequence, so that customers get all of the information to start using their machines with confidence and not by trial and error. I also show all of the features of the machine - so that all features can be used, to make sewing so much more enjoyable!
I hope this is helpful.
Should you have any questions please feel free to contact me at info@sewandcrafstepbystep.com.

Do you get a cd with this.
Hi Maria,
I am not sure which country you are in - but I know there is no CD for this machine in my country.
There is only a manual and quick reference guide.
I have made training videos for the machine which I give to my customers when they buy a machine from me - but the videos are also available to purchase from anywhere in the world at sewandcraft.flickrocket.com/za
You can download them to your PC and watch and work along on your machine.
I hope this is helpful
