- Crafsman has been wanting a Talkbox for some years now, and I finally was able to get one! Although I don't have an electric guitar to use it with, I was able to get some interesting sounds from my little synthesizer.

I'm 20 y/o being my age you feel like you know everything so you have to act all responsible and adult like; but when i watch your videos crafman, i feel like a child again who's learning about cool stuff we don't have mature and understanding people like you in our society these days even the newer old fellas feel immature as if they were in competetion with the young fellas. But i just wanna say that i love you and i am so glad i found you; i adore your creativity and the mannerisms with which you speak to us and how you rip away our sense of differentiation by playing a puppet, man is prejudice but crafman, crafman don care he be doin what he wants in he's lil work shop full of cool lil things and inspiring others to do as well. Yep, talkboxes are neat. Back in the day, we'd make them with a car stereo speaker, a funnel and a hose.

In the late 60’s and early 70’s they put a 12” speaker into a leather draw-string bag, with a funnel and hose attached. The speaker was wired to a 50 or 100 watt amp (no lunch-box/low wattage amps back then). It’s said that your teeth would rattle loose over time due to sound pressure coming up the hose into your mouth! The MXR is essentially the same idea - but with a very low powered amp and speaker. I’ve used one for a few years - love it.
I saw this pop up and I'm more delighted than you can imagine.

First thing i noticed today, was the new "moooood" lighting, as a photographer. PS: you get a thumbs up every time at the intro... so far never disappointed and had to pull it back ;) I love y'all and keep steady awesome!
As a side note, you want to use a solid note/effect on the talk box that doesn't pulse, so that it acts like the breath from your lungs... and the words you speak will be understood more clearly. CM seems to like the classics, so I'm sure he's familiar with Pete Frampton and Joe Walsh's use of the talk box. Aerosmith's Sweet Emotion, too. If anyone wants to hear some more.
This sound effect reminds me of the 1970s. Specifically, it reminds me of hearing a live recording of Peter Frampton doing a song called “Do You Feel Like We Do?” Frampton’s performance included some strange vocal effects, and I heard that it involved him sticking a tube into his throat. Now, after all these years, I know how he did it. Thank you for the demonstration, Crafsman.

The MicroKORG was first released in 2002. The Alesis Micron was released 2 years later in 2004. The Micron was/and still is a far superior machine, imo.

Now you've inspired me to go get one, I think. I've been wanting one for awhile. I'm only surprised you didn't make one! There's a bunch of "easy" instructions and resources online to make them relatively cheaply out of a horn driver, speaker(s), and vinyl tubes like the one that came with the one y'all got. And your voice, singing or otherwise is like the voice of an angel, so don't worry!

I thought you was joking when you said to put the tube in your mouth, had no idea this was how that effect was created, always presumed it was manipulated after using a sample from a regular mic. Crazy device indeed!
