      No you can master it by training and then go places where you get challenged.
      That's where the real grading takes place.
      Street fighters and other forms of art don't go with the flow, they are confident yet scared, stiff from top to toe, wrestle shake and pannic to get loosened from your grip before eventually surrender and relax due to pain and realisation that a bone may brake or a shoulder get permanent damage.
      Also some of your grips might miss and turn out disastrous, you may have to take one or two strikes before you get your timing right in the same fight.
      My one friend who has a few dojo's got shot in the shoulder in an armed robbery cause of a slight slip up.
      The shot could have gone through his head, wasn't it for his years and years of training.

    Aikido is beautiful and simple. There are only 5 basic techniques; ikyo, nikyo, sankyo, ..., and every variation stems from that depending on the circumstances. Endless fun if have a willing partner and mats (ideally). You can hurt yourself really badly really easily, so train with a proper instructor before you get too excited in the back yard. Instructors are everywhere and all they all teach pretty much exactly the same material. This video is brilliant BTW, great job. Love the bit where she takes a moment to fix her hair, which beautifully highlights how powerless the assailant now is. Loved it.

    Amazingly done!! Sensei Seagal has done a lot of these in his movies and his seminars. Aikido is a complex and beautiful martial art, and it also works for self defense despite what a lot of keyboard warriors says (the same guys that when they see a kotegaeshi done by an Aikidoka say "that doesn't work" but when they see a mma guy or a BJJ doing it they say "wow that's very useful")

      Grove mega moves are borrowed from and based in aikido and jujitsu moves and principles.
      In theory the new product misses a lot of "secret" knowledge/application.
      In practice it's well improvised to suit Israely military objectives.

      I was an Aikidoka for 3 years and reached the blue belt level. I’m 6’ 3” former athlete with very good reflexes and speed. Aikido doesn’t work in confined spaces against high level athletes and fighters. It works against drunks and people who telegraph their attacks. If you’re facing someone with any sort of speed or feinting ability you’re toast. Then if you end up on the ground you’re also toast. I was attacked in a narrow hallway with a knife. I did many knife defense technique training on the mat and none of it is effective. I even practiced with fake knives against friends and was occasionally able to get sankyo or kotegaeshi against them but only on the first attempt. Anyone who is planning on learning Aikido or currently is training….you need to be aware that it’s extremely limited and unrealistic. The uke is usually bsing and doing what they’re taught in training. The randori is also mostly bs because that’s not how people attack and they’re not conveniently rolling out of the way so the next guy can attack. If a mob is attacking you they are relentless and you will probably die or end up severely injured unless you have a weapon. I took BJJ and some Muay Thai and I can confidently say I would destroy this Sensei in hand to hand combat in under a minute. You’re wasting your money if you believe Aikido will save your life against a good athlete who intends to kill you or injure you severely. It won’t. Ironically though…it actually is very useful in the clinch/the standing wrestling position before you go the ground. Wrist locks throws are much easier when you’re in close than hoping you’ll grab a wrist against someone who actually knows how to box

    • @neotenylv09
      @neotenylv09 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@bfe954 BJJ and Muay Thai doesn't work in every situation (although Muay Thai alone is more than enough for self defense) just like Aikido techniques have a place and moment and no, it doesn't work only against drunk people. The problem with Aikido is the training method, I've seen aikidokas trying to grab someones wrist and force the technique. My recommendation is Cross training and be realistic about the use of every technique.

      Won’t work on anyone with some decent combat training. None off these moves will work on me, for starters because I won’t offer up my arms and wrists to be grabbed like that. Secondly, the moment I get gripped, I will counter with a strike, kick or sweep. Not to mention some of these techniques are just stupidly dangerous. Don’t make people think you can disarm someone pointing a gun at you, pulling the trigger takes a fraction of a second, so the moment you move your hands a bullet will hit you.
      Do not try any of this against a determined opponent, you’ll end up in hospital or dead.

      @@McDojoLifeGermany , if you know the history of aikido you know that Ueshiba, the founder of aikido, when he started hisdojo brought in a select group of students to learn, each of whom was already expert in other martial arts. My instructor in Tokyo in the '90's, for example, was an all-Japan judo champion before becoming a live-in student at Ueshiba's dojo. Aikido is not an art aimed at teaching fighting or self-defense; at its best it is rather a theory of movement and a way of life. If you are in a fight you have already failed at aikido. It should not be a choice for people who need to learn simple self-defense or how to win in the ring.

Fun, challenging, gives you different perspectives on how to move your body in relationship to an opponent or even the floor (tumbling, lol). Helps you learn about and begin to understand your "center," from where the strength of your spirit and body come together into a stronger cohesion of willpower, movement, chi, etc.

    Aikido for self-defense is a tricky business; it's not what students of the art train for, for starters. Ueshiba, the founder of aikido, when he started his dojo brought in a select group of students to learn, each of whom was already expert in other martial arts; judo-ka, karate-ka, swordsmen, even a boxer. It should not be a choice for people who need to learn simple self-defense or how to win in the ring, but people with a solid grounding in more practical fighting systems do stand to benefit from aikido training under a good teacher.

    Watching Seagal's interpretation of it over the years, aikido seems all self defense. And, self defense relies on an opponent to attack you first or to not be looking for a given move(possibly due to being off balanced). Upon the opponents aggression or not being aware of what's going on, the aikido student/instructor can strike a pressure point, sensitive area, or break a hand/limb! Maybe Seagal gives it a bad rap, but I've only seen self defense techniques from him...If true, then that would not make you a trained warrior any more than it would a woman using self defense to subdue her abusive husband or a chasing stalker. I do approve of a woman using whatever at her disposal to take down her abusive hubby, but attacking someone that can't fight or that has attempted to attack her first hardly makes her a warrior. It's catching your opponent off guard.
    This is welcomed in my eyes when needed, but lowball activity for those up for warrior status(if this is your only mode of attack). For a warrior, it should not matter whether you attack first or whether your enemy does: you should know what to do either way and it should work(this doesn't count if someone is faster than you, because this is beyond your ability to comprehend an attack). Is aikido only self defense class or is it more than that?! Or is Seagal not really proficient in aikido?!

    • @gachalusaxxx.770
      @gachalusaxxx.770 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1
