That pattern of the material is beautiful! I could totally see that belted and looking fabulous when you're out, and when you're home throwing off the belt and plopping on the couch. That sounds like my kind of clothing lol. So gorgeous. I really want to start sewing again. I use to make all of my dresses and my daughters dresses. I even made breast feeding garments with a built in modesty cover so you could feed your baby without pulling up your shirt or unbuttoning it. Having 4 kids all 10 months apart, I lived in those clothes lol.
Love it!!! I have been afraid to make my own clothes, however, this looks easy to make or at least you made it look easy haha. I am going to make one...I love loose fitting styles.

My sis in law who has now passed, would have loved your caftan's. She was at the mercy of someone passing on clothes to her she was very large. Keep on what you are doing.
There are not many choices out there for very large women!

Reminds me of how I once enjoyed sewing, but you make it look so easy. No marking, basting, backing - all that stuff that was a bit tedious. I had a neighbor who sewed free form like that, for her daughters and herself.
I have to keep it easy or it's not fun! lol I don't do well with all that extra work.

It depends on the width of the fabric and the length you want. If you want full length, 3 yards will be plenty.

Where's a place I can p/u kaftans like you are showing in this video? They could already have the hole in them too. It needs to be cheaper or as cheap as material by the yard. I live in California.

How did you finish the neck?
I just turn the fabric twice and sew. I keep it narrow and it works great. Will try to show that at some point.
