Make sure the base is completely connected to the by pushing down on the carrier. Then, fully squeeze the release handle as shown in the video and lift it straight up and off the base. Also, make sure there are no straps obstructing the release locks. If so, try rocking and wiggling the carrier off the base with the release lock fully engaged (squeezed).
