i remember Patsy from a summer school class at Hale Jr. High , got to walk her home and met the entire family . what a sweet angel she was . They were so kind . a very special time growing up .
Got to know Melody Clinger when she lived in Boulder during the 80's. Sweet lady and a great supporter of local music in Denver and Boulder. Still gorgeous at that time.
I think I need to self-report that I have watched this an unhealthy number of times since stumbling across it a week or so ago! Fun song and awesome interview at the end.
Always liked Patsy, they were all great but Patsy always stood out for me. She had good taste saying John Gary was her favorite because he was on Danny Kaye show too and was a favorite of mine too.
Just found out about this group tonight. I'm really blown away with them and their story. I'm thinking they were trying to capture that "Girl Group" sound because they are singing this song in unison instead of harmony. I read how they had a pretty extensive history in music, even singing barber shop harmonies. So I'm wondering if the producers felt that cutting the harmony and using unison singing would make them sound more in line with that youthful teenage sound. They seem like really nice people! I'm looking forward to hearing them when they shifted gears and became a self-contained Rock band.
I've been reacquainting myself with Kaptain Kool & The Kongs lately, but I had no idea that Debra Clinger had been a young singer with her sisters until some videos of their performances found their way to me. I'm glad they did! And to see them on Hollywood a Go Go! Those clips are a treasure trove of the music I like, so this one is a double blessing.😌

The beehive, skirt suit and saddle shoes...odd ensemble. Otherwise great harmonies! lol
Those aren't saddle shoes; they're T-strap ladies' shoes, for wearing to a dressy party.
