- Faith Hedgepeth was a beautiful young woman, a promising student much loved by her family and her Native American Haliwa-Saponi tribe in North Carolina. At 19 years old, Faith was aiming to be the first of her family to graduate college. She lived in an off-campus apartment near the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She dreamed of becoming a doctor. But she never made it.

This is so sad. The roommate, her boyfriend and the other girl who were with her when she found Faith's body are TOTALLY guilty. I pray God gets this case solved!!!
I thought so too but new technology has come up with a composite sketch of what the suspect looks like.
They were able to produce a composite sketch thru the DNA found on Faith's body that did not match Eric.

I would of ran out the room in panic mode.. waiting for the police outside. She acted like she seen dead bodies before.

So Karina was drunk and faith helped her back to the apartment. Then Karina passed out and 2 HOURS LATER she left with a friend?! I've been drunk enough times to know that if she passed out from being drunk and Faith had to help her back to the apartment...she wouldn't have woke up 2 HOURS later and left. Her roomate had something to do with it.

As usual, Crime Watch Daily has done more investigative work than the local Law Enforcement Department, which speaks in volumes. Thank you Crime Watch Daily, atleast someone is doing something! "I can't believe you really did it Rosie." Rosie as in Rosario. I believe Rosario went back to Eriq, Faith probrably told her she was "stupid" for doing so. Eriq wanted Faith dead so that she can stop advising her "friend" on leVing this dead beat looser off again on again boyfriend and I believe there were many helpers the night Faith was killed, which included Rosario, Eriq, and the young lady seen with Rosario after the 911 call was made. Eric probably convinced Rosario Faith was "jealous" of their relationship and he probrably liked Faith himself. I truly believe that voice message took place while she was being killed and I hope this family get the justice they deserve for their loved one. 🙏🏾🕊💛🕊🙏🏾

Yes. My thoughts exactly. That's a very odd story to leave early in the morning then return to find her dead. Seems the room mate wanted to make sure Faith was there so she made up the story about having a stomach ache. That girl doesn't seem honest.

The part at the end when she said "we really lit a fire under the chapel hill police department" is heartbreaking because its now febuary 2021 and the case still remains unsolved.

if she was really that drunk that she was throwing up everywhere and passed out in bed, she sobbered up pretty fast to get up and leave a couple hours later.
I had to replay this a few times thinking I misheard something but I guess I didn’t. I’m glad ya also caught that about the drinking bit. Thought I was alone.
Does anyone else find it suspicious that her roommate went home so drunk that she is sick, and gets picked up like an hour later🤔🤔🤔, that is bizarre. Not to mention the 911 call🤷🏽♀️
I find it very convenient that she was not present when the murder occurred... not to mention, she left the door UNLOCKED... knowing Faith was in the apartment alone.

That roommate reporting to 911 clearly was not surprised or distressed by the murder scene. She was involved for sure.

*There is absolutely NO WAY IN THE WORLD that the butt-dialled phone recording was recorded in the night club!! There would have been at least **_some_** type of musical rhythm in the background of that recording as within **_any_** night club, the music never ever stops or takes a break! So, that recording, in fact, **_was_** the very last moment of Faith's short life! Erik was involved, Rosie was involved. Also, 2 other people were involved, another male and another female! I strongly suspect that Karina was the other female in that room. Whoever the last person was, that's anybody's guess. Those cops really gotta get their act together and arrest Erik, to begin with!!*

UPDATE: they have made a arrest Sept 2021 on a man Miguel Enrique Salguero-Olivares. DNA matched his . Now the family can have at least a little hope for justice !🙏🏽🙌🏽

Chapel Hill Police Dept. aren't doing jack sh** with this case. Like, bring in the f**king FBI at this point because local police seem like they gave up on this case 3 years ago.
Either Karina, who clearly did it, has connections with someone high up at Chapel Hill Police Dept. or they simply don't want to put forth any effort. Maybe, because it's such a popular college basketball town, they don't want to bring any additional unwanted notoriety to the area?! I dunno, it just doesn't make sense.
It's clearly Karina that did this. Not sure about asshat Eric but it makes sense that he was involved, especially when you hear how aggressive he was on the FB message to Crime Watch.
Chapel Hill Police are absolutely useless at this point. I mean, has anyone tested additional blood left at the scene? Usually when there's a struggle and someone is getting stabbed, the killer ends up cutting himself/herself in the process. I don't recall any additional blood or DNA tests being done in the case files.
Faith and her family WILL get justice one day, I know it. Family might have to wait for NC FBI or Washington FBI field office to intervene but at some point, someone has to step in and reexamine this case. Chapel Hill Pigs aren't doing jack about it and it doesn't look like that will change any time soon.

I found out my "best friend", and my new boyfriend were having an affair of their own. I found out the day after her birthday, when they got into a bad car accident. She stood me up that night, in the worst possible way ever, so that they could be together. I remember my mom telling me, "honey, if they didn't pick you up, it's because you were not suppose to be with them tonight" That really pissed me off at the time, but in hindsight, there was no room for me in that car of liars, anyway. That tight knit group of besties, I called my friends, were ALL in on the cheating, too. No room for me in the car of Karma that night. It was a very very bad car accident. 😭😔😔

I saw another doco and the guy who picked her up was interviewed by cops. Apparently he told the cops that there may have been a red speck on her clothes. And apparently the cops searched his apartment for her clothes and analyzed the speck, but they couldnt say much about the result because its still an open case.

Crime watch daily doing the job these officers should’ve done. They got all the evidence that the police department hid for 2 yrs and they still won’t make an arrest. The police department failed this girl.

Police are not like CWD. They have to go by their rules. They said the recording was sent to the FBI for analysts. That's their procedure. The local police departments wont spend money on an independent expert, unless it's approved from the top. And TV shows have a lot more money, than police departments. And as for evidence. All circumstantial. The cops would lose this case in court to a good defense attorney.

If a person finds their roommate beaten to death, they are not gonna call 911 so calm and they are not gonna fake cry. I would be yelling, crying and very very scared wondering who did this to her. This girl was more worried about having on record that she didn’t know what happened to her roommate. She also mentioned that she had just walked into the apartment. She said that twice to make sure it stayed on record. She definitely had something to do with it or knows who did it. That’s why she wasn’t scared.

Here’s the thing. The roommates dna should be there. The boyfriend fingerprint could be there too because he used to visit there. His dna might also be there as well because he did again spend time there. I do think they should have checked under her nails for sure.
The roommates last name is Rosario.. “Rosie”! it also had the name” Eric” it doesn’t take a rocket scientist, they will get their karma and faith and her family will get justice. You can’t dispute a recording especially one recorded without knowledge

Been watching this show for years and noticed two patterns. One is that there’s A LOT of murders that happen in North Carolina. Second is that the police departments where the murders take place don’t do anything to help solve the murder cases. Note to self: Don’t ever live or even visit North Carolina!

It's very obvious that Rosario, Eric and one of his friends did this. The recording was analyzed by an expert. It really shouldn't be too hard for the cops to prove it at this point.

Can't believe this case hasn't been solved yet, smh. We used to talk about this case when I lived in NC. The roommate & her ex. Period. 1) Chick was jealous of Faith, 2) stomach "hurt" was an excuse to leave the club & get Faith back to the apt, 3) no hysteria in voice with 911 call because she knew what happened, 4) the audio that was analyzed should be enough to question the roommate & ex again. It's a shame that young girl died like this and 8 years later the cops are still dragging their feet.
They gotta wait for personal relationships to fall apart so loyalties fade and the witnesses will start talking.

An update was made on this case in September of 2021 Miguel Salguero Olivares is facing first degree murder charges for the murder of Faith Hedgepeth
This is terrible. I was a student at UNC when she was killed, and nobody on campus seemed to know much about what had really happened to her. I'm shocked so many details were kept from her parents for years, though.
My theory: Rosario got back with Eric after filing the restraining order. Faith called her stupid for going back to this loser, so Rosario enlisted boyfriend Eric and another friend to help kill Faith and make it look like she was raped. I feel like maybe Eric also had some attraction to Faith, and Rosario noticed which is one reason she thought to kill her. The note would make perfect sense then.
That was my theory. Because eriq had already threaten to kill Faith if Rosie didn't get back with him. Then Rosie actually wanted to get back with him. And Faith was angry at that, calling her stupid. And like an idiot Rosie for defensive as many girls in Rosies situation do. Except Rosie took it to a psycho level, and knowing eriq was already threatening to kill Faith and hated Faith. She committed to it with him, because perhaps Faith was done with her, after she got back together with eriq, the friendship could have been done. That's why he said in the audio "I can't believe you did it Rosie" surprised that she committed to what he already wanted to do. And why she put that paper next to her. It's because Rosie knew she was stupid for wanting eriq back, and knew that Faith was right. But to justify herself, she convinced herself that Faith was just jealous.
That's how I can see it potentially going down.

Honestly I think I’ve came up with something major to who actually killed Faith. Hear me out. So most of us have/had nicknames in high school and college (around the age group at least). Now In the voice mail you can clearly hear “I can’t believe you actually did it Rosie” meaning she did the final blow to kill her. But no one knows who Rosie is. However think about this Eric is there. Eric’s girlfriend is Korina Rosario... (might have messed up the spelling) but that’s how the name sounds. My guess being is that Korina developed the nickname Rosie because of how similar it is to her last name which is bombshell information to me. Now for the note. I’m guessing Faith called Korina stupid for staying with Eric because of the way he treated her, and with that being said I’m assuming Korina thought Faith was jealous of the relationship hence the note “I’m not stupid bitch.... Jealous?” Let me know what you guys think of my theory?! I think it’s exactly what happened.

The 911 call sounds fake… From the tone of voice, to the choice of words, to the lack of emotion, to the fact that she lets the dispatcher believe she’s alone on the crime scene while sb else is there.. Fact confirmed by the downstairs neighbor who meets Korina Rosario and Marisol on the staircase…. And…. She couldn’t absolutely tell - from their demeanor- that they had just found a friend brutally murdered !!
I can’t wrap my head around the fact that these heartless bastards are still walking the streets and are getting away with murder! The perfect murder!? Gimme a break ! This is a joke !!
Justice won’t bring Faith back, but no justice is totally unacceptable. Faith's family - who has been carrying and will have to carry the burder of this devasting loss forever- needs and deserves JUSTICE and RESPECT. They were not treated respectfully till now.

Campus police anywhere aren’t who I’d want to help me. My freshman year, I lived on the same floor as campus police stayed. The most helpful they ever were was occasionally helping a drunk girl laying in the hall around 2-3am. Nobody took them serious with good reason.

The reasons Karina almost definitely had something to do with it are:
Her surname is Rosario, so it is pretty plausible "Rosie" could be a nickname you get from that. (ROSArio). Faith had no friends who were actually called Rosie, so this must have been a nickname and unless she also has a friend called Rose, Rosa Rosleen or Rosemary (and I feel like if she did, someone from the collage would have made this information known by now) the only person who would be likely to have that nickname is Karina. For example, Faith and Karina had another friend called Merisol. You couldn't get Rosie as a nickname out of that name.
You can hear the name "Erik" being said in the voicemail. (And the voice of the person being referred to as Erik telling "Rosie" he loves her) Karina has an ex boyfriend called Erik whom faith had convinced Karina to break up with and kept them apart, so I'd say it's safe to assume Erik would be angry about that and if Karina still loved him, or thought she still loved him then we've established a motive and an explanation for why they were so angry on the voicemail. It is just too perfect to not be them two. What are the chances it was a different Erik who also hated Faith and another girl with a name that you can get the nickname "Rosie" from? It would be a coincidence the size of a skyscraper if it wasn't them. P.S, "Rosie" was also heard saying "You wanna mess with my boyfriend?!" which would be Karina's motive.
Also, Karina's reaction to finding Faith's body + the fact she (probably) wasn't actually the one who made the 911 call. Hear me out on that second point. I mentioned earlier that they had a friend called Merisol. Well, Merisol says that she and Karina found Faith's body together and thus would have both been in the apartment together. If you listen to Merisol's voice, then listen to the 911 call, in my opinion the voice doesn't just sound similar, I would go as far as to say they sound identical. I know the person claimed to be Karina Rosatio... eventually. They were initially reluctant to say who they were. Where they trying to avoid lying? Then listen to the background of the 911 call... Silence. So if it actually was Merisol on the phone then Karina either left the apartment (which is illegal, to leave the scene of a crime) or just sat there in silence not crying or screaming despite the fact she'd just found her friend dead. (Note: At one point towards the end of the call, the dispatcher says to the caller something like: "Stay on the phone with me, I don't want you to be on your own til the police get there." And the Calller doesn't say she is not alone.) So if this was Merisol, this either means Karina did leave the room or that Merisol didn't want to say Karina was there in case the dispatcher then hung up, this may infer she didn't feel safe alone with Karina because she suspected her. I know there's a lot of what ifs in this part but it is something to consider. *Could also be why Karina refuses to speak publicly. She perhaps doesn't want people to hear her voice and figure out it wasn'ther voice on the 911 call.*
And now we've got more on the reaction of Karina vs the reaction of the caller. The caller sounded distressed. You would have to be a very, very good actress to actually fake that, I don't think it's something your average person could fake quite so picture perfectly. Merisol and Karina were seen 5 minutes later. Merisol was crying whilst Karina was just stood there texting (What?? - She'd just not only found out her friend is dead but also found her brutally attacked body.)
Back to the voicemail for a second becuase I completely forgot to mention this, "I can't believe you really did it Rosie" If Rosie really is Karina, this proves she did something to Faith.
I know this is not concrete evidence but another thing that strikes me as odd is their point blank refusals to speak out about it in the media. If they have nothing to hide, then why hide? Fear of not being a convincing enough liar? Fear of being analysed by body language experts? Fear of their stories not matching 100%? (Or needing to hide her voice in Karina's case.) You'd think Erik would want to convince people of his innocence and Karina would want justice for her former best friend. But no?
It doesn't prove with 100% certainty she did it, I know that. But if you allow for some thinking, joining of the dots and inferring to take place, you can become well over 95% sure she must have been involved.

But Chapel Hill Police Department you were dropping the ball. I really truly don’t feel you’ve taken into account that phone call. I don’t believe you when you say many sources. If you’ve been in the night club you know night clubs are loud no matter what room you’re in there extremely loud. When a person who works for the FBI explains to you there is no sign of a nightclub in the background you listen. Because his skills are better than yours at this. Chapel Hill the pressures on you better get getting it!! Or be prepared to show your proof.

No longer unsolved. They had DNA evidence from the scene and linked it to a man's DNA after a drunk driving arrest. His name is miguel salguero oliviares.
The only thing I can think is that the DA is waiting until they're absolutely sure they have enough to prosecute this case. They know who did it, but they only get one chance in front of a jury.
Stories like this make me feel physically ill. Such a beautiful young girl. Such a good, decent and devoted family. Whoever did this is a monster.

They made an arrest September of 2021. It was not the roommates or her boyfriend but another guy that went to the same school. However they never discussed the connection between the two. Still so many questions.

No one comes home drunk in the early hours of the morning to the point where they have to be put to bed , then get up and goes back out to party . Secondly that 911 call was not the reaction of someone coming back home and meeting their roommate bludgeon to death . The roommate and her friend had someone beat that young lady to death , that's what I believe.

Dira Diana police are not saying enough about how she died to conclude anything reasonable. If it was a rape, then DNA should easily match the suspect. If they tied her up and tortured then the suspect was confident the roommate would be gone without interruption. If the suspect knew the roommate then he probably called her and the police would be able to trace and secretly obtain dna from suspects. It’s possible the roommate is innocent
