Great review of a beautiful guitar and a excellent sound also, David and his crew are building some amazing guitars, enjoyed Over The Rainbow 🌈 it my favorite of all the solos you play, by the way we all love DOC AND MERLE, two of the Best! Thanks.
thanks for the review ! thats great , in the short time i have known David and the guys i am really blown away with how much the guitars have evolved defiantly on the track to becoming one of the best American built guitars out there
Thank you for such an excellent & thoughtful review! Any thoughts on the Belle as a finger picker for someone with softer touch? I’ve played mahogany Doc Watson and was impressed in its response to both picked, finger, hybrid styles. Also felt I could get some nuance or expression out of it. Seems Belle may be even more receptive & reactive? Thx again! …and please do more guitar reviews!
Curious how you would contrast it to the Collings D1-A. This video gives me a sense that it's a warmer/darker tone (maybe more overtones?) than the Collings. I know you know....but for others who might read this, I don't think of different as necessarily being better or worse.
Without having a D1-A in my possession to do a direct side by side comparison, I would have to generalize based on my experiences with those model Collings guitars. However I do own a Collings Winfield mahogany model. I would say you are pretty close, the Gallagher is likely a bit warmer. I would say in comparison the Collings probably has a bit more growl. Keep in mind, this is based on just the one example of the Gallagher that I've played.
Amazing playing.

Thank you, and I agree that they are building fine guitars!
O yes,thats the sound!
I believe the new Gallagher team is superb. I've owned a couple of the old/original company guitars and love Doc Watson. Great review Allen!
I also wanna say i love the way you doing the review. Superb playing at the end,one of my favorite tune!
Nice review, great tone on that thing!!

You da man!
Sounds great!
Love your videos, and this is a great guitar.
Loved that guitar when I played it at camp. Kept coming back to it….lot of money, but good value like you said. Hmmm.
Good review, thanks.
Gallagher’s always been great, but in recent years they’ve really stepped into new territory.
First rate in tone. Just my opinion (and nice work on Somewhere Over the Rainbow) .
