Haestein (the Germanic dude in Brittany) is one of the most fun starts in the game. He can immediately plan an invasion to any coastal country in diplo range. I once conquered Italy with him, then took out the papacy to move my capital to Rome. My son became emperor of the Byzantine empire and his son restored the Roman empire.
I'm curious: When sponsored, I understand it's common to provide a series of things you're not allowed to say/criticize/imply (etc). Does it also usually include not allowing bringing up things you're not allowed to discuss or mention?

Can we just have a Many a True Crusader side channel where you just post Crusader Kings? You don't even have to make edits really. If you posted 3 hours of raw footage and commentary as you mess about throughout history, I'd watch 100% of it.
I would feel sorry for Denmark with all their dead kings... but I did recently rewatch Denmark conquer the entire known (and new) world in MATN's Medieval 2 playthrough...

I was an avid civ player and felt like this too. But dont worry :) throw yourself into it; and fail horribly for 4; 5 times; and then itll start to click as you get to know the events/decisions/inheritance more and more.

A tip for quickly killing pagans for this challenge: Seduce a couple women with high intrigue and marry them off to Christians in pagan courts there is usually one or two due to them freeing prisoners and such. Now you have one or more trained people that love you in their court. Next just start plots

Could you have just given somebody with a claim on Burgundy a bit of land from a holy war? Then they would work for you and you could push their claim.
Burgundy is a Kingdom level title. As a King he can only have Dukes and lower as vassals. If he'd push a Kingdom level title for a vassal, said vassal would take his old province with him and go independent.
that does not find pagans, it just allows you to randomly murder people of your court, it propably could have worked if he got a pagan wife, converted to her religion, "invented"a bunch of courtiers and then set his priest to hunt heretics, although that brings a whole lot of other problems.
your father did not burn those claims, because thats not how claims work, in fact loossing in a war makes claims only stronger (if not inheritable it makes them inheritable), the claim inheritance is incredibly bugged, you should have inherited all the claims but you did not get a single one

As much as Paradox's games look like they would be fun, I'm completely against their philosophy of selling the idea of a game for $60 and fixing and/or completing the game through DLC. I'm done buying their games.
As much as I hate their DLC policy, it's the only way they stay profitable as a company. I dislike the Hell out of it, but they do still need money to operate.

The learning curve is a learning cliff but once youre over it it's fantastic
Besides being strategy, it is very different from Civ. And it is extremely intimidating, but it's pretty fun :)
