Definitely think this video was recorded atleast 2 months ago given a few references. Thiago since early 2022 has been out of this world.
Henderson is just incredibly overrated. lol. He's a solid, hardworking player. for sure. But he's not exactly a game changer or someone that will dominate and control the midfield regularly is he? Hendo Cpt Marvel? please. If this was years ago and they said Gerrard is Cpt Marvel, ok sure. I think that's fair.

Must say, that since recording this, Kante’s form has dipped to such a level that James’ Fabinho point could actually be correct.

I understand but Thiago just picked his form lately. He was poor last season and the beginning of this season was not so smooth for him neither. Kova has been On and Off specially due to his reoccurring injuries. And without a ball carrier, that midfield they made will just be so stagnant.
Let the stats talk kovacic has 5 assists and 2 goals thiago has 2assists and 1 goal kovacic is good at ball carrying and thiago is good at passing buh kovacic has added goals and assists only injuries have restrained him

I think Mendy is a top keeper. However, I’ll go as far to say that to put him ahead of Allison is ‘criminal’. I don’t think football fans appreciate that Liverpool’s system would crumble without their goalkeeper. He’s an incredible sweeper, brilliant distribution but most importantly, he is the best one on one keeper in the world, which is so important because Liverpool’s high line results in at least 1 one on one situation being conceded every match, yet he almost always makes the save but we naturally focus on Liverpool’s goals, rather than the save(s) made

I’m trying to work out how long ago this was recorded. Thiago should be one of the first names on this team and Fabinho’s form gets him in over Kante. Diaz could (and probably should) be in the conversation with Mane at CF.

The Kante debate is very interesting based on his current form. Just shows how easily people dismiss liverpool players based on our injury laden last season
And just the fact Kante is a borderline part timer now should be given more attention
Kante will always be phenomenal. But the technique and belief and growth Liverpool have is too unique, sometimes, for people to class or understand. Not Even Fifa (game) gets it right.
Chelsea players are being dismissed aswell as a result of an injury laden season this time around if this was done after we won the champions league Robertson and Trent don't make the team
Similarly, Chelsea have had an even worse injury situation this season.

People who don't watch Liverpool don't understand that Liverpool don't just have an amazing 'Front 3' we have an amazing 'Defensive 3' which is Allisson, VVD & Fabinho as our Defensive Spine, when those 3 are together Liverpool is incredibly tough to beat. They're as important to us winning anything as our 'Front 3' are.
I will forever have so much respect for both Rory and James. Watching them both debate is the best thing, they know what they're talking about and their points are fair and actually make sense.

Thiago has been an absolute shadow of his former Bayern self since moving to Liverpool. He’s been good the last month. I doubt you watch Kovacic with a comment like that but what he does for the Chelsea 11 is far superior in terms of what Thiago offers. Dribbling past Mctominay and Maguire doesn’t make a player good.

Midfield should be Kante - Fab - Thiago, as Kanté never plays in that deep role regardless: he’s a box to box player. Goalkeeper is no doubt Alisson. Mendy had an alright spell but Alisson is emerging as an alltimer.

Allison gets in over Mendy, he’s saved us countless times and has the best 1 vs 1 statistics in the league. Kovacic has had some world class moments this year but Thiago atm is the best skillful Cm in the world. I’d actually put Thiago in over Hendo though, our captain has done so much for us in our success but if we’re talking this season, he doesn’t make it unfortunately.

Rudiger is shit in a back four - there's a reason he barely played under Lampard. He's a system player at best. Thiago's been quality and can do things Kovacic can't. I rate both highly, but it has to be said, the putting down of Thiago here was nuts! He's been very good. Maybe he doesn't slot in perfectly ala Bayern at Liverpool, but he's become incredible central to the way we play. Also rating Mendy over Alisson as though that's a straight forward decision, nuts!
As an out and out DM you'd probably want Fabhino because Kante can offer so much more as a box to box.
