Because Mbeki decided to turn AIDS into an ideological issue, he caused over 300 000 deaths. Those of us in health care saw people dying every week, people wasting away, leaving their children orphans, those children starving, looking after their younger brothers and sisters, we went to funerals every week, while our government denied them life saving medication, proven to save lives, while people in other African countries and all over the world were able to take that medication, and suddenly they saw life expectancy going up. In South Africa our life expectancy went from 64 in 1994 to 55 in 2005 and after ARVs were introduced, rose back up to 64. Mbeki's intellectual arrogance killed. And it killed poor people the most. Do you know I met with Minister Aaron Motsoaledi in his office in 2011, and he said when he took over from Tshabalala-Msimang, he found a report in the drawer of his desk, describing the shocking rate of maternal deaths, caused by AIDS. She knew, and she did nothing about it.

To this day we're still funding a HIV/AIDS programme which we do not understand.
A typical and recent example: COVID. South Africa bought millions of "vaccines" which have not been used to this day.
What Mbeki is saying is: we should've been given more time to understand the virus and it's effect, and then find a solution to the challenge from within S.A, and not have all ARVs produced and patented by Western countries.

A syndrome is a collection of symptoms and signs that occur together and characterize a particular condition. In the case of HIV/AIDS, the virus (HIV) attacks the immune system, specifically targeting CD4 cells, which are crucial for the body's defense against infections. As the immune system becomes progressively weaker due to HIV infection, various symptoms and complications can arise, such as opportunistic infections and certain cancers. These symptoms collectively define the syndrome known as AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome). So, the virus (HIV) leads to the syndrome (AIDS) by weakening the immune system and causing a range of associated symptoms and conditions.

I see a lot of comments saying Mbeki doesn't know what he's saying and yet if you look at the definition of a syndrome - a cluster of symptoms indicative of a condition with no clear or direct cause - then it follows that HIV cannot be the cause of AIDS directly because then AIDS would be a disease as opposed to a syndrome. The virus indeed merely weakens the immune system. Additionally, it is also true that nutrition plays a huge role in immunity as the body needs nutrients to form antibodies etc.
Also at one point Zimbabwe and Botswana had the highest HIV and AIDS rate in the world. Neither country bought and distributed ARVs nearly as widely as South Africa did, yet both countries have relinquished the title to South Africa for the highest number of infections, a title earned after the mass purchase of ARVs by the government; this is a possible indication that the role of ARVs has been overemphasised or inflated.
If you look into western pharmaceuticals, particularly the USA and their interactions with Africa, you may begin to understand the former president's skepticism. Even though I may not wholly agree with his conclusions, I think it's a mistake to dismiss him as someone who doesn't know what he's talking about; the man is far from stupid.

If they say AIDS is a Syndrome (TB, Menangitis etc...) why not use same treatment measures used for someone with that specific disease that forms part of syndrome other than buying ARVs. The only way way to tell if someone had been exposed to HIV at that time was through an antibody test. There are at least 70 conditions that give a false positive response. Pregnancy is one of them. Tuberculosis is another. Both of these conditions are common across the African continent , not just South Africa. Fact number two; the drug that the international community was so anxious to shove down the throats of pregnant African women was AZT. AZT is so toxic that the FDA denied its use to terminally I’ll cancer patients. Yet it was okay to give to pregnant women based on faulty tests? The next time you feel like putting words in my mouth you might want to make sure you k is more about the subject than I do.

AZT was developed as a cancer drug but did not work for cancer. So yeah, it was never approved as a cancer drug. It does, however, treat HIV and is still in use to this day. The original doses it was used in turned out to be too high which caused the toxic side effects. This is not unique to AZT; lots of things can cause side effects in very high doses.
No medical intervention is ever going to be 100% safe so you have to way the risks and benefits. On one hand, you have some risk of toxicity to the mother and child. On the other, you have a 30% chance of transmitting to your baby a virus that causes AIDS, which is 99% fatal. So close to a 1 in 3 chance of watching your baby suffer horribly bc you can’t get access to ARVs for them.

      * How antibody is a test for virus ?
      * If HIV infect and replicate in body which cell diagnose has found hiv other then blood ? Atleast if its there then they should be in any cell replicating if yes where is the research documents ?
      * P24 protien is antigen for virus why it drops after 2-3 months infection ? It should increase isn't it ...
      * Why no standardisation of test ?
      * How long will it take to develop AIDS ? Where is the documents ?
      * CD4 and t -cell increase after infection and drops when infection is gone so how it shows that HIV is there alcohol also decreases it 😅😅😅😅.
      * RT PCR test is searching for HIV virus doesn't authorised by any body ... you can listen to Dr Mullis on this ,why ? Beacuse he got noble prize for inventing the same test 😅😅😅😅.
When Test are so inaccurate how you know that there is virus in body ?
Now comes to AIDS (specifically Acquired Immuno Deficiency sendrome )
Reasons : Malnutrition, Drugs use , Radiation and Chemotherapy ...
Well AZT or Zivoduine is a drug invented for cancer treatment chemotherapy 😅😅😅
Well go for AZT is going for AIDS 100% .
HIV is not a disease but AIDs is ..
HIV test are not accurate but AZT causes AIDS is .
I hope it will answer your ignorance ......
What is going on is because of HIV no body is treating any treatable diseases .....
Only people benefitting are big pharma and so called HIV research organisation 😅😅😅😅 (why so called because if you do not believe in HIV/AIDS your reasearch funding will be cut short to zero.....
There were many great minds who advocated that a virus whome we can not even diagnose how it is responsible for AIDS ....because we know AIDS .... but not virus ... we can deal AIDS but don't know about virus .....😅😅😅

Why companies that are producing ARVs are from West. Why in those companies there are ANC politicians who have small shares. And remember most of them they never bought those share were given for free. HIV was medical wopon that was aimed to depopulise blacks. But now is used as business. Ask yourself why America is so keen on funding NGOs. Remember in politics there is nothing for free. I used to work in those NGOs and I spoke to some of the doctors and they do agree with Mr Mbeki. The cure is there but they don't want to release it. Thabo Mbeki is correct if they can weeken the virus that means they can kill it or destroy it on the body and the person get cured. Ask yourself about ibolar and covid 19. Bill gate is not a medical doctor but people do listen to him when is making estimations about coming deases as he did about covid 19 in 2015 in the technology conference because he has money to fund top people in world to back him. At my home we had 2 people who got covid 19 first wave and third wave but we stayed with them they never quarantine and we never affected. They never went to hospital. We told them to the normal life as usual, they must take it as normal flue. My sister who got third wave is diabetes and she is using daily injections. So all and I want to say curing mind first while you busy fighting the virus in body is the best. But once the mind dies it will be easy for the body to die.
