Im off to see 611 tomorrow yet im unfortunately not going to ride it, im riding behind 475. 611 sold out quick for my date so imma have to wait a couple more years to ride behind her what when amtrak ends their no private car bs
@@JasonSchaedlerVideos maybe, i already went to the event and saw 611 run tender first behind my head. It was a great event, albeit parking was a little crazy to get out of
NO Too much Foam would be there. 611 is a special legend as she is the last J class out there, there are plenty of berkshires left and 765 is a foam magnet, wont say the same for 2716 which is a berk but it is called a kanawha. Though im so happy i got tickets to attend Reunion of steam
Too much bell. I want to hear the stack, compessor and the whistle. Actually, it's not running fast enough or working hard enough to get much out of the stack.
Cracked throttle open just a bit.... that's it for running at Strasburg. Not being negative just being honest, flat easy terrain with a few curves. Hardly an effort for 611.
@@Boxpok Definitely and a light consist, too. I know strasburg is pretty flat but I still got a little compressor and the whistle. Did you ever listen to the video on 611 in commercial service in 1958? It's sound only, but really great. Whoever the engineer was knew how to work that whistle.
I don't believe so, I think she's being loaned to the Strasburg Railroad until mid- or the end of October. As essentially the flagship steam engine of Norfolk & Western, she is usually found in the southern states (i.e. Virginia, North Carolina), but came up to Pennsylvania for a "Reunion of Steam," as one of the engines on the Strasburg RR's roster, #475 is formerly of the N&W as well. I was extremely fortunate to ride behind her yesterday (9/29).
@@NickelPlateDave yes, that tends to happen when you hold a tiny camera in your hand without a tripod, considering there was no room on the full platform for a tripod
I don't care what anybody says I like the bell of 611 its relaxing
What an Awesome experience!!
Great shot Jason! That was awesome to watch!
Love the guy down front with the 576 hat on!

He is a good co-worker and friend of mine. I'll let him know he needs to watch this video.
Awesome video Jason Schaedler 🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋🚂 😀😎👍
I don't think 611 has ever run backwards pulling a train before it went to Strasburg. There's no choice out there. Interesting.
I was thinking the same
g bridgman I’m sure the it isnt the first time 611 has pulled a passenger train backwards
@@NickelPlateDave It's the only time I ever saw it.

I like the bell of 611 I will figure out how to make it my ringtone
So is this her permanent home?
No it’s just an event put on by Strasburg

Lucky. Im after Texas and Pacific 610
Imagine 630 or 4501 pulling a Strasburg train.
@Union Pacific big boy fan I'm talking about the Southern engines that were in 21st Century Steam with 611 and 765.
Nice video who ever Had the go pro why the focusing in and out always 😡
That is actually a fade between clips, it's not one continuous shot, gopros lack the ability to focus in and out
Just nice video but it was a little wobbly

Jason Schaedler well of course with other people beaing on the observation platform no wonder you can’t put a full tripod
Hey, I see myself!
@Aaden Wilson yup
@Aaden Wilson my arm was pretty tired by the end of it but well worth it!
