    Greenstuff world makes a product called Bluestuff for mold making. It's amazing for replicating bits and its reusable!

    EXCELLENT, simple, effective, cheap (for one piece it surely is) , what deserves to someone who wants to start. Probably I'll visit the local GW shop to buy some Green stuff

    That is a great idea using the bottlecaps to keep the mould lined up flat. Well done!

    Amazing, loved it and learned a bunch. I never thought to cast using green stuff and then fill it with green stuff, game changing.

    I made a bunch of molds for bases using silicone. It's super easy, too!
    Just use hot glue to secure the base you want to copy inside a box made of lego and then pour in silicone. Leave it to dry and you got a perfect, reusable mould.

    I just used this trick to duplicate some Stargrave 's stuff, such as holsters and bags, and it worked, the only important thing is don't use excessive GS, otherwise the details could be lost.

    Thanks for the tutorial. I have been trying to suss out a method for making shoe bases for my 1:6 action figures and I think I can use this. I also want to try moulding thermoplastic in these. I really enjoyed your video and got all the info I needed.

    Why would you use green stuff when blue stuff is smoother and reusable? And for the actual copy I would use epoxy putty 1. doesn´t stick to the bluestuff 2. way harder then greenstuff 3. better to work with later

  • @adriaanvandenberg5013
    @adriaanvandenberg5013 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    How long did you leave it to cure?
    Also I greenstuffed a leg for my model and now he won't stand up so I rested him against a support. Will that take a day to dry?

    • @CorvusMiniatures
      @CorvusMiniatures  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Adriaan van den Berg Not sure how long exactly green stuff has to cure, but I usually leave it alone overnight. Then I basically start working with it again the following night, so that's 24 hours.

    Will it work for slightly rounded bits, like a scarab occult terminators shoulder pad? I magnetized my heavy weapon guy and want to mould out two shoulders for the other arms.

    • @CorvusMiniatures
      @CorvusMiniatures  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it's worth the try, however you will have to find a way to hollow out the bit to the same dimensions as the original.

    Out of curiosity, how well does green stuff hold up to the affects of time? Looking to turn a Vanguard Vet into my Sanguinary Priest with some green stuff robes. Will he be about the same with care in 5 to 10 years, or will the green stuff flake by then?

    • @supermoose7994
      @supermoose7994 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nathaniel Jernigan, so long as you mix the two parts well for couple of minutes, your finished piece should last nearly as long as the miniature itself :)

    • @yamit465
      @yamit465 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The miniature will live or die quickly, so why bother ?

  • @KrullMaestaren
    @KrullMaestaren 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is there a trick to pick up the copy before it cures so it can still wrap around a round surface, like a chapter badge on a shoulder plate?

    • @adamconstable1377
      @adamconstable1377 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have to find that sweet spot during the curing process for the greenstuff. On a 1:1 ratio I fund after 30 mins it retains its shape but is mouldable. Should do the trick

    • @CorvusMiniatures
      @CorvusMiniatures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Like Adam said don’t be afraid to experiment with drying times. Another option is to add a bit more of the harder compound to the mix. Thank you for your comment!

    i know this is an old vid so im hoping this will even catch your attention but im an absolute newbie to greenstuff and was wondering kinda how it would work if say you took a chest aquilla from a marine and tried this but then bent it to the shape of another minis chestplate before it fully cured? The idea is to take a mold of an aquilla from sanguinary guard torso and then place it on a stormcasts chestplate.

    • @CorvusMiniatures
      @CorvusMiniatures  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Even when completely cured green stuff is still a bit flexible, so I guess with some good superglue you can stick it on. Good luck!
