Yema make some great looking watches but there are horror stories out there about poor quality control and non existent customer service which has stopped me from making a purchase...
Question: does this in house movement have the same parts availability as other movements ? In house always sounds great, but sometimes I wonder how much it truly offers other than a price increase.
France has a bunch of really good watch brands which are criminally underrepresented in the anglosphere. Among the many I recommend Ralf-Tec which does really cool professional dive watches and Lip which is a big brand with history, almost completely unknown in the the U.S. I hope you will review some of their offerings someday.
Nice looking watch, definitely vintage inspired. Think they take a few ideas from old Omega's (which is no bad thing), ive got the urban rally and thats definitely got 70s omega vibes. No issues with mine, hopefully they've ironed out all the problems they had a few years ago. Great reveiw Chris thank-you.
I own this watch and I'm really happy about it. Very solid, great bracelet with a proper fast micro-adjustment. Mine is also quite precise. The bezel action is fenomenal, as well as the crown manipulation.Only two downsizes, at least for me: The hour and the minutes hands are very shine, and at some light condition they disappear a little bit, even if thanks to their very different shape you still can read the time...They just look smaller. And the second thing that I don't quite like is the lume. Really bright and reactive, but not really persistent, at least compared to other watches that I own. But overall a great watch for its price. Greetings from Italy!
@James2001 right. At 46 I'm waking up in the night to go to the toilet, and I always want to know the time, so when I'm going to sleep I wear my seiko prospex. it's my night-time-pee watch😅
The movement is not "in-house" at least in any meaningful sense. It's "designed" in France, whatever that means, then "assembled" in France (i.e. maybe they put the dial and hands on there). It's made in China Their newer movements e.g. CMM.10 make more claims about manufacturing in France, but it looks like even there it's just the base plates if you read anything specific. Still a made in China movement IMO They're also bad movements in general. Read online, millions of buyer beware moments. I'm experiencing one now with the GMT version of the 2000 movement. The seconds hand got displaced and rubs against the crystal, and I'm in the process of arguing with them that polishing my shoe (the event that caused the issue I think) falls under normal use and is not a "shock" I've got one of my Yemas on Chrono24 for sale and will be selling my other immediately (if they're even willing to fix it)
Broad arrow hands that look straight from AliExpress, and a second hand that’s too short to catch the outer edge of the seconds markers for $749? No thanks.
The most annoying thing is the thumbnail never showing the actual watch to get you to click it lol
Strategical. Works though 😅
@ i watch ten seconds and leave its annoying lol
Love the looks of this. Somehow classic and modern simultaneously.
I got the LE skin diver with the micro rotor and I love it. Had no issues with quality or customer service
Goat channel. Wary of yema customer service
Everything under 1k is affordable nowadays… for reviewers at least…

Love the looks of Yema watches. Another great one Chris. Thanks so much for sharing it with us!

Fantastic!! A copy dial 1:1 of the Longines Skin Diver!! :D

Yeah..underrepresented…not really: Hermes, Cartier, Chanel, Baltic, Bell & Ross, Serica, Yema. These brands are all well covered.
Perfect dimensions. Cool looking tool watch. Steel goodness
I got to try this one on at Windup! It's super nice, I have the Urban Traveller which has the same movement.

Very cool! Their CMM.10 and CMM.20 movements are very interesting, would love to try out one of those models

The tradeoff for the daytime look of Old Radium lume is its rather weak persistence.

I bought 1 Yema. Never again. Abysmal customer service. So bad I (probably unfairly) stay away from all French watch brands. Sorry, Baltic 🤷😬
Yeah that's just dumb, that's like if you bought a Tissot and it broke the first day and then going "Guess I'm never buying an Omega"
@@vael_ Calm down, chief. Added hyperbole for emphasis. Literary devices can be your friend 👍! Yema bad, Baltic still good.
Wish it had an exhibition caseback. Also alternative steel bracelet would be a nice option. Not a fan of bead of rice
Yema is a great watch for me💯👍
👍👍👍 Nice Watch and Elegant Watch introduce by Watch Expert - Watch Chris 👍👍👍
Cool Watch but I prefer the micro-rotor version
Looks cool 😎
Yema is a great brand. 👍👍👍
thank you for sharing.
Isn't it 749 with a discount now but usually it's 890, right?
Unimatic Quattro vibes…
I don't think Yema is microbrand, but rather old brand but not that famous
Microbrand just means it’s a small independent company not associated with conglomerates. Yema has heritage, old for sure, but still a microbrand.
No so hot on this one but Yema do have some lovely stuff in their lineup......

En español genial
Like it doesn’t have a bezel lock.

The Yema movement. I'm %100 sure I've seen this somewhere else but don't remember where. This is not in-housee.
