I wouldn't be surprised if this has been happening for a long time. I live in the countryside, and often Royal Mail claims to have delivered parcels when they haven't. In some cases, it seems that certain Royal Mail staff have even stolen parcels and forged signatures using customers' surnames.
I am disabled and house bound, have a ring door bell and a dog that goes off her head when someone sets it off and I have had many cards put through the letterbox saying "sorry we missed you" and that they were unable to deliver the parcel. They often don't try they just stick the card in letter box and run off.
Some are utterly useless. Found a "tried to deliver red card" in THE WRONG BLOCK OF FLATS! AND several times MY orders have been delivered wrongly or GONE MISSING! 👎🤬
Totally true. A few months ago I had a tracked parcel from RM that said it wasn't delivered because my property was inaccessible. I was home all day and there was nothing blocking access to either my home or the road it's in. A couple of months later, I paid for an item to be sent recorded delivery because it contained legal documents that HAD to be with the recipient the next day. I got a message the next day saying it couldn't be delivered because there was no one to take delivery...they'd allegedly tried to deliver it at 5:40am...I simply can't imagine why no one was available to take delivery. And, when I called RM about this, I was greeted by a recorded message telling me to, "Be kind." Stuff being kind. I'll be kind when RM starts being competent.
On one occasion they marked a Royal Mint delivery to me as delivered when they had not delivered it. I lodged a complaint and it was delivered the next day - the manager of the the delivery office actually visited me, I think they were concerned that Royal Mint packages might have been being nicked by postmen.
The new Czech buyer may well be very alarmed by this. I posted a next day delivery, tracked letter last November and it showed to be in Bristol MLO for several weeks before it disappeared. I got my £7+ back but the recipient never received the letter. Luckily it was just a legal letter and I then e mailed it.
I don't call them royal mail, I call them royal snail, I hate it when I order items and some items can only be delivered by royal snail 🐌, I wouldn't use them at all if I could, 😡,
Royal Mail are failing fast this Christmas I sent card first class and it took 12 days to get there and one of my family send a second class card to me more then 15 days ago and I never got it ,it up set my family member because it was a special card not happy considering how much stamps cost today get your act together Royal Mail and do your job
