    My uncle, Harold Bellis, was a brilliant chemist at DuPont laboratories. He was the one that isolated curcumin in tumeric. This was then tested as a treatment for various cancers. It never had a big enough impact on cancer that it would have been financially viable. However, it worked well enough that my uncle believed that it might prevent certain cancers. He faithfully took curcumin and black pepper daily until his death two years ago at the age of 92.

      Just because a group of people has done something for centuries doesn't make it right. Slavery was legal for centuries.
      When it comes to nutrition, we need to look for a history of consumption that is over 10,000 years to be safe.

    I had been diagnosed with IBS : took 3 yrs medication prescribed by gastro doctor with no improvement , feeling very down everyday and lost 25kg due to constant bloating and uncomfortable tummy:
    Till one of my indian friend got to know about my condition and asked me to try taking tumeric powder mix with warm water : at first i was skeptics about it , with my friend persistent persuading i gave it a try , i stopped taking prescribed medication which were given by my gastrointestinal doctor and started to drank one cup of tumeric every day for about a month i felt much better and by the 5th month i had no IBS symptoms recurring : after 8th month i am able to eat all those food that were told to avoid by doctor as will trigger IBS:
    After a Year i gained back 12kg : now i am back to a happy man again: till now i still continue with tumeric

      I was also told o had IBS and knew i do not! They never look for a cause their IBS meds caused worse symptoms o got some private tests and allergy test It turned out to be a gluten & dairy allergy and huge amounts of heavy metals in my system high cholesterol I used red yeast rice and plant sterols and it fel on half even though it’s hyper familial type and high blood pressure and cortisol and a lot of pain for 4 years and literally was told I was not sick! I
      had to research on here and elsewhere and find the right labs to do the right tests and then learn human health care to cure all my own health issues!
      Yoghurt for gut health with honey and lemon and berries & apple cider vinegar with spirulena helped flush toxins from body! Turmeric helped reduce inflammation and pain all over body! Foods like turmeric herbs spices plants all have benefits for our health or are detrimental but mostly Food and the ancient knowledge of herbs and plants show us the way & the real medicine our body needs!

      @@alan2007-x8x I mix mine all at once so it's ready by the sink. It's hard to say as I buy 16 oz. bags, I use a whole bag of turmeric, and a half bag of ginger. I make about 15-25% fine ground black pepper. Make sure these spices are real. Do not buy from Costco as their spices are fake. I grind my own black pepper. I mix them all together, and then take about a tsp. of mix, 1 tsp. coconut oil, in a four oz. glass. I then add a little very hot water, mix well, and then add the rest lemon juice, no sugar. Just lemon and water, that also keep ready. I try to take some every time I go to the sink for a drink. 4-6 times a day. I used kratom too, for the pain after I quit pain mgmt, and all their drugs. My inflammation went away very quickly. I added the turmeric mix after I broke my wrist at age 60, and never developed the expected arthritis. I pray you get similar results.

    I have followed Dr. Saladino's career from the very first TH-cam video he made complaining about how hard he had to work as an intern. At the time he found he's method to success as a youtuber which he craved above all else (as he'd tried many times) by negatively critiquing anything that normally would be praised or shone in a positive light. He has always offered negative thoughts on many subjects that he has no expertise in. The only thing I can confirm he is an expert in is disinformation. Normally I would not comment on someone like this but I believe him to be dangerous to the public's health.

      @remeAlthough there is correlation between longevity and coffee consumption, people would probably be better off without it, or at least without the caffeine. Many brain experts say coffee is harming the brain by causing it to lose fluid. If I drink three cups of coffee I get muscle cramps in odd places IMHO this indicates the same effect. Other's may not be as sensitive, but the LD50 on caffeine is .5 grams. So it is more toxic than cocaine by quite a bit.

The guy goes on a rampage about oats because they contain phittic acid even though they don't contain enough of it to produce negative effects in humans (as studies proved, regular consumption of oats showed up with no deficits in calcium, iron, zinc etc)... yet he doesn't even concearn with.the fact that excess iron (which is predominantly caused by high red meat intake) is just as bad for you as iron deficiency (excessive iron leads to more LDL getting oxidised thus increasing the amount of foamy macrophages in your arterial walls leading to faster developement of atheroaclerosis; raised hemoglobing and red blood cell count from excess iron make blood more viscous providing more strain to your heart and significantly raising the risk for blood clot to form)

    How did I miss this video? You always seem to provide just the right content to validate what I sense is the correct path to follow. I have been consuming turmeric and pepper every day for the past 2.5 years (along with an OMAD lifestyle based on a meal containing almost no highly processed foods, very low carbs, significant fat “EVOO, and a whole avocado” and moderate protein - whatever my wife feels like having - at dinner time). Since I began this regimen, I’ve lost 80 lbs., dropped my A1C from 8.9 to 5.0, my very high blood pressure has plummeted to 120’s/80’s, I’ve eliminated all of the join stiffness that I had been associating with normal aging. As a result, I did something my GP told me was going to be impossible - I am off the raft of prescriptions I had been on for many years and feel decades younger. My story is far to long, but serious health issues started me down this path and I have shocked my GP, Oncologist, Hematologist, Surgeon, Eye doctor, and my barber who has been cutting my hair for the past 40 years. I wouldn’t change a thing. My only regret is being unable to convince friends and family that they should entertain following my lead. Once you get past the carb addiction, it is really all on autopilot and your body knows what to do. Thanks, as always, for all you do! 😊😊😊

    While I also find Saladino's comments to be nonsensical - I had a nasty side effect from turmeric/curcumin, but also very beneficial main effects. I found curcumin useful for tamping down inflammation from fibrocystic breast. I've tried a number of curcumin supplements, but found the most powerful was actually a turmeric tea - Numi Golden Turmeric Tonic; it does not include black pepper, but does have dried lime and lemon verbena. Within an hour of drinking a cup I had reduced swelling and pain. The next best product was Gaia Herbs' turmeric product which includes pepper extract; Theracurmin was in 3rd place. I did not notice any effects at all when taking Meriva. Unfortunately, I also would get shoulder pain when using these products - similar to the shoulder pain I experienced when on Cipro. I checked the literature and, yes, curcumin is a topoisomerase inhibitor. So I'm curious about that and also - why on earth does toperisomerase inhibition have such an awful effect on some people's shoulder tendons?!
    ~
    As far as detoxification goes - there are some polyphenol detoxification products that are more harmful than the original polyphenols. Specifically, 4-ethylphenyl sulfate (4EPS) seems to cause anxiety and worsening of autism symptoms. It is derived from 4-etyhylphenol (4EP), which is sulfated by the human enzyme SULT1A1. I did notice better mood when taking the Gaia herb product.
    ~
    Note that another side effect from these products I noticed was increased bleeding time. Eating more dark leafy greens or taking a K1 supplement fixed that.

Think about the hysteria about bacon and eggs for breakfast-now it’s known that’s the BEST breakfast for diabetics obesity and inflammatory conditions.
    For YEARS I have suggested my patients make the following;
    Heat water in a pot to a boil. Turn of the fire and slowly stir in the following;
    TUMERIC
    BLACK PEPPER FRESHLY CRACKED
    GINGER ROOT POWDER
    CINNAMON POWDER
    ROUGH BROWN SUGAR
    stir slowly and simmer for an hour. You can make a large quantity and keep reusing the mix by adding water each time before reuse
    Now, put in a table spoon of extra virgin coconut oil to your large mug and add in the hot tumeric mixture.
    Drink in the morning on an empty stomach.
    In all my years in practice I have NEVER seen this mixture fail to help anyone!
    It’s great for diverticulitis, irritable bowel disorders, arthritis, circulation problems and general malaise. As with anything, moderation is key and always check with your trusted physician for acceptability to your personal situation

    Hi, you speak about turmeric reducing inflammation around 12min. I think it’s important to highlight that this isn’t necessarily good, as your body repairs itself through inflammation. It’s like how cold baths stop hypertrophy through reducing inflammation. Do you think it’s possible that this reduction in inflammation is stopping other healing processes, or reduces the toxins that lead to damage and therefore inflammation?

    • @Lulu-kt6gr
      @Lulu-kt6gr 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t think it repairs itself through inflammation. I think it’s more that inflammation is a marker of injury or dis-ease in the body and the body needs anti-inflammatories to bring down the inflammation, or heal it. Chronic inflammation signals that the body is in dis-ease and to restore it to health, anti-inflammatory foods are good medicine.

The inflammation has a role in healing immediate wounds as well as chronic inflammation caused by bad diet, smoking etc- BUT it does so by SIGNALING there is an immediate wound or a chronic situation. THEN the body can heal if given the chance.. I. E. If there’s a damaged artery, it will send out cholesterol to heal it BUT if that cholesterol is already OXIDIZED due to bad diet ( like fried foods) then it turns into a clot and can cause a heart attack. The body uses inflammation as a SIGNAL that the body needs help; it is not the healer in itself.

This means it will produce pain relieving benefits like ibuprofen does (which is a Cox-1 and cox-2 inhibitor) but without the cox-1 inhibition, which means it doesn’t impact stomach (limiting ulcer Formation). Can you confirm? I haven’t looked into this in a long while. In addition the NSAIDS have negative impact on heart, increasing BP and heart attacks. So it makes sense long term curcumin users might be at risk of heart disease, assuming what I just said is all true. Using it “as needed” I.e. when in pain - might mitigate these effects.
