Kanjuro was the scabbard we have been with the longest. If people didn't like him for whatever reason is on them. Honestly the whole reasons people probably dont like him: his design, his crappy drawing, etc....was all part of his ploy. Oda did alot to get us to feel close to Kanjuro without spoiling him being the traitor. It was absolutely masterfully done.
Young Kanjuro was a stagehand! Kuroko (Japanese: 黒子, lit. "black child") are stagehands in traditional Japanese theatre, who dress all in black. In kabuki, the kuroko serve many of the same purposes as running crew. They move scenery and props on stage, aiding in scene changes and costume changes. They will also often play the role of animals, will-o-the-wisps, or other roles which are played not by an actor in full costume, but by holding a prop. Kuroko wear all black, head to toe, in order to imply that they are invisible and not part of the action onstage. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuroko So Kanjuro went from being an invisible stagehand to a starring role. His costume started as a background character, but as an adult he has a full Kabuki star outfit and face paint.
So I just caught up with One Piece after a period of time where I kinda had to drop it, this is the first video of yours I watch live in at least 2 years, and I have to say, it kinda feels like coming home…it’s so nice to see you're alright and that your reviews are still so much fun and full of thought and research! This chapter, wow, good job to everyone who had guessed Kanjuro being the traitor, reading all the theories and exploring all the clues was so much fun...personally the one that had caught my eye was him holding the paintbrush immediately after the Scabbards get to the future, that's where I convinced myself :" And oh my god, seeing the three captains back together...I knew it was bound to happen at some point but I didn't expect it in this chapter and it gave me more of a shock than Kanjuro exposing himself ahah it gave me so much hype Tbh I always smile when the Polar Tang shows up, like everyone has a ship but then there's Law like, bitch I'm special asdfghjkldfg and I think it's a snow leopard? I mean, he does kinda look like one, aesthetic and all xD
The song ‘believe’ by asking alexandria came up when luffy and the rest appeared saving the day when the scabbards had lost all hope of the worst generation failing them... i almost cried bc of how perfect the timing was
@@jjjjjjaylon My name has nothing to do with it :" Sawyer's reviews are always much more than a recap, there's a lot of thought and research put into them, so you're, like, objectively wrong :" As for "go read something with quality" if One Piece isn't of quality for you that's fine I guess, but I mean, that's the door, no need to bother people who enjoy it :"
I remember suspecting kanjuro for the first time when we got the panel of scabbards talking to lady toki in the fire. Kanjuro was the only one with a hat covering his face
Well, we finally see why orochi was so terrified about the disappearance of the scabbards. He lost one of his strongest, most useful subordinates he had- the one that let him make a deal with kaidou in the first place- was gone.
malik mcclain He's saying Orochi was terrified about the Scabbards' disappearance bc he lost Kanjuro. In this chapter Orochi was saying Kanjuro gave him twice the money he asked from Oden, which helped him pay for Kaido's "services" (helping Orochi take over Wano)
well, one thing that I haven't see anyone noticing is that Franky asked to build twice as many ships for the alliance. at the time many people thought that the alliance was going to grown twice as much, but now its obvious that was Oda foreshadowing that the Strawhats knew about the traitor, one fleet to use as bait and let Orochi destroy it and another fleet (the real one) in the original port.
It’s just oda not wanting to reveal him in that moment and using that figure kinda shows how inhumane he is and worthless piece of shit who has no emotion
I think Kanjuro created a painting clone of King but painted him at the age Jack is now at the attack 20 years ago as I think Jack was too young to fight
Trafalgar law was 10 step ahead of the game and everyone. I bet he made a massive room to move the ships and people to the other port at the other side of wano
Back in Dressrosa when Doffy meets Luffy, Zoro, and Kinemon for the first time in front of the colosseum, Doffy mentions something about how he thinks he saw a kid that looks like Momo on the Sunny to Kinemon. It would make sense if Kanjuro was working with Doffy while he was "captured."
The reason Kaido's DF isn't revealed yet is because he is Kanjuro's drawing. He's neither a living being nor has any DF. It also goes in line with why Kaido's having a hard time trying to die
If you're not making a joke and actually proposing this to be a possibility, then I'm afraid this is one of the lamest theories I've seen thus far. Since when can paintings use haki? And wayyyy stronger than the drawer himself?? See? That's already reaching. And Kaido's been around way before Kajuro got his powers.
@@SubinGeorge26 the theory's obviously a joke on Kanjuro's power level. (considering how he's been hiding his art talent and seemingly one-shot Shinobu :P)
I also think Oda said via Kanjuro's speech that those that did not know that he was the traitor were simply avoiding to know it, because Marco's theory was on point and got viral.
Boi did u not see why she would go that far from the flashback. She is desperate my man don’t hate someone because they have been cornered too far. That’s a shallow way of thinking
I had "Luffy's fierce attack" was playing in my head. Probably because that track always gave me more of a pirates of the caribbean vibe, which was way more appropriate for that scene imo. Overtaken is always a classic though.
First time in my One Piece life that I had my own theory and it turned out to be correct. LoL I figured it had to be someone amount the 4 of Momo, Kinemon, Raizo, Kanjuro. Because since we've been with them the longest, the impact on the reader would be greater felt. Also only those 4 knew that Raizo was going on his own to Zou. So if it was either Momo or Kin? Then wtf are we even doing on Wano? And Raizo giving himself up served no purpose other than getting the shit kicked out of the Minks. So Kanjuro. His DF abilities are perfect for sending secret messages. Draw a bird or rat, write a message on it, bring it alive, send off to Orchi. And I really it was just to convenient for him to not be turned into a Toy in Dressrosa. And to be honest his character design I think is the easiest to make look like a creep. Looking forward to the next chapter, should be getting good.
I forget if this happened or not but was the Sunny fixed since arriving at Wano? I know it got damaged from the Whole Cake Island raid and may have had a patch up but I can't remember if Franky got to fix it up for that so maybe if not that plus the bombing did some damage...
Sawyer I've been watching you for years and I was wondering if you read Webtoons? When Tower of God anime comes out would you ever do a review on it. I know rarely do anime reviews but just would be awesome to see your take on it. Either the anime or the Webtoon would be awesome!
I think the reason why kanjuro looks like that in the flashback is because the way he looks now isn’t really his true form. The form he takes in the flashback is before he eats the devil fruit, as you can see the devil fruit being present uneaten.
Most people predicted Kanjuro to be the traitor because he was seemingly the scabbard we know the least about, but almost everyone (including me) didn't pay any attention to the tons of hints pointing out towards Kanjuro being the traitor. Marco's a GOAT!
Damn, Luffy looked skinny in this chapter, for the small glances we get of him. I hope it's just for this chapter though. I really would like to see Luffy actually gaining muscle as the series goes on, like Wano was portraying.
@@Ax1oM11oo I hope you're right, but his arms turned back into twigs. Even though the panels were small, he had twig-arms again... I really hope he keeps his gains... It shows that he's growing up... Oda drew Luffy to have the same build as Garp by age 40, and 60. He's going to need to get bigger at some point. I really hope they won't mess this up.

From here on out till the end of Wano arc, we will see Denjiro/Kyoshiro successively prove that he is more clever Strategist than Orochi.
Chapters like these make me wish we got a decent anime adaptation
Last time I watched the anime Batman tanked a punch from Luffy and gazelle-man was gasping for 30 seconds
Even if the anime was good the fights would still be trash
@@jjjjjjaylon Implying people watch/read One Piece for the fights lol
LuxuryLeague it’s a battle shonen most people do watch anime for fights most. It’s probably 75%. Just because you don’t doesn’t mean the majority of people don’t. That’s one of the reasons it’s not popular in the west.
Apart from stupid filler scenes like that one, the Wano anime has been pretty good.
@@1TheHadar1 the pacing is absolute garbage where I'm at
while i was reading the chapter i thought it was KIKU because of the emphasis on "HIM" but i never suspected Kanjiro! i guess ODA got me !
T.I I’d you never suspected kanjiro I’m praying for you. You’re a grown man who didn’t see that coming. Wow. Oda really writes this for 12 year olds
@@jjjjjjaylon what can i say man? Oda is a good writer
T.I no. He isn’t. Nobody in one piece has developed as a character. There’s no good character dialogue scenes. No good fights on the level of other shonens. Don’t be blind by the lore/mystery of the one piece
@@jjjjjjaylon I agree that it does not have good fights compared to other shows and the character development is poor but the world building aspect of the show is quite well thought out and enjoyable, and people can have difference of opinion.
Slatt J tou are going around replying to others and spreading all this fucking negativity like GODDAMN...fuck right off if you aren’t enjoying watching/reading the manga, no one is forcing you to...
I have this sneaky feeling that when they ask Luffy how did he hide his ship, Jimbe and the Fishmen crew are gonna re-appear!
Woot, woot! Was looking forward to your review.
@6:55 Also , Doflamingo did not place any bounty on Kanjuro .
0:06 we the song I knew it would be a great review
Young Kanjuro was a stagehand!
Kuroko (Japanese: 黒子, lit. "black child") are stagehands in traditional Japanese theatre, who dress all in black.
In kabuki, the kuroko serve many of the same purposes as running crew. They move scenery and props on stage, aiding in scene changes and costume changes. They will also often play the role of animals, will-o-the-wisps, or other roles which are played not by an actor in full costume, but by holding a prop. Kuroko wear all black, head to toe, in order to imply that they are invisible and not part of the action onstage.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuroko
So Kanjuro went from being an invisible stagehand to a starring role. His costume started as a background character, but as an adult he has a full Kabuki star outfit and face paint.
Wow. The last page. Its Law Luffy Kidd again! This reminds me of pre time skip event when those 3 teamed up against Navy at auction house in Shabondy
The Supernova Trio back at it again!
I love the fact Kuro means black and zumi means ink. Kurozumi Kanjuro
So I just caught up with One Piece after a period of time where I kinda had to drop it, this is the first video of yours I watch live in at least 2 years, and I have to say, it kinda feels like coming home…it’s so nice to see you're alright and that your reviews are still so much fun and full of thought and research!
This chapter, wow, good job to everyone who had guessed Kanjuro being the traitor, reading all the theories and exploring all the clues was so much fun...personally the one that had caught my eye was him holding the paintbrush immediately after the Scabbards get to the future, that's where I convinced myself :"
And oh my god, seeing the three captains back together...I knew it was bound to happen at some point but I didn't expect it in this chapter and it gave me more of a shock than Kanjuro exposing himself ahah it gave me so much hype
Tbh I always smile when the Polar Tang shows up, like everyone has a ship but then there's Law like, bitch I'm special asdfghjkldfg and I think it's a snow leopard? I mean, he does kinda look like one, aesthetic and all xD
I freakin love ur reviews man ! Lol I love how u make references to previous chapters and bring us back to pertinent information.
The song ‘believe’ by asking alexandria came up when luffy and the rest appeared saving the day when the scabbards had lost all hope of the worst generation failing them... i almost cried bc of how perfect the timing was
Sawyer shaved again!
Thank you Sawyer!! I was waiting for your review!!
For what so he can recap what happened and worship Oda for being a children’s writer ?
@@jjjjjjaylon I don't think we've been reading the same manga and watching the same reviewer :"
Hori Law you a fanboy look at your name go read something with some quality
@@jjjjjjaylon Sure, if that's how you see it :D
I don't have a problem with that.
@@jjjjjjaylon My name has nothing to do with it :" Sawyer's reviews are always much more than a recap, there's a lot of thought and research put into them, so you're, like, objectively wrong :"
As for "go read something with quality" if One Piece isn't of quality for you that's fine I guess, but I mean, that's the door, no need to bother people who enjoy it :"
Darch who??
malik mcclain ...didnt u read the chapter?
Deadpool yes but I’m so lost who is he talking about
malik mcclain He's saying Orochi was terrified about the Scabbards' disappearance bc he lost Kanjuro. In this chapter Orochi was saying Kanjuro gave him twice the money he asked from Oden, which helped him pay for Kaido's "services" (helping Orochi take over Wano)
Deadpool awee okay
Shinobu's actually on the floor next to Kanjuro where he appears on the port.
I miss those days where we got the review on Friday's.
12:10 - or the blob was one of Kanjuro's Drawings reporting for him... like a Summoning Jutsu
Man...helping me get through this coronavirus quarantine. Thank you for always posting your recaps and theories and your take.
well, one thing that I haven't see anyone noticing is that Franky asked to build twice as many ships for the alliance. at the time many people thought that the alliance was going to grown twice as much, but now its obvious that was Oda foreshadowing that the Strawhats knew about the traitor, one fleet to use as bait and let Orochi destroy it and another fleet (the real one) in the original port.
Wow, you on to something
I wonder if that's really how Kanjuro looks?
His sillouhette looks kinda different...
Maybe he used his ability to make himself look different?
It’s just oda not wanting to reveal him in that moment and using that figure kinda shows how inhumane he is and worthless piece of shit who has no emotion
😭 he killed my boi Oden
It's kinda like he is a blob of ink until orochi gave him identity.
Finally! Been eagerly awaiting this review. What a chapter!
Woahh... look at the last panel...Luffy, Law & Kidd 🔥
Can’t wait for it to be animated to experience the music of those scenes! Awesome review as always
I think Kanjuro created a painting clone of King but painted him at the age Jack is now at the attack 20 years ago as I think Jack was too young to fight
this chapter was just so epic! plus Sawyer7mage, your sound effects bro lol, awesome!
Trafalgar law was 10 step ahead of the game and everyone. I bet he made a massive room to move the ships and people to the other port at the other side of wano
About time you shaved that facial hair 🤣 I like your reviews even though they take a bit. Good stuff man
This video was great can really see your hard work 👍🏾
Back in Dressrosa when Doffy meets Luffy, Zoro, and Kinemon for the first time in front of the colosseum, Doffy mentions something about how he thinks he saw a kid that looks like Momo on the Sunny to Kinemon.
My favorite reviewer😍😍😍 been waiting for this since saturday 😭😭😭😭
@17:07 was the ship ever fixed after the Big Mom arc where she took a bite out of the Sunny?
Only the last few pages got me hype
I love your intros man u are amazing 👍🏾😏
Keep up the good work!
I have a question for you: What do I need to do in order to grow my youtube channel, give me some advice!
Clickbait
Lol
Ahmed Asif i'm serious! I'm not joking.
It takes time, just provide good quality content instead of quantity and have patience 👍
Nobody blows up famous in one night just be you and your personality will surely attract people
I also think Oda said via Kanjuro's speech that those that did not know that he was the traitor were simply avoiding to know it, because Marco's theory was on point and got viral.
If shinobu comes in next chapter and says “I knew you were the traitor” and saved Momo I will start a cult of shinobu and I will be the pope
Boi did u not see why she would go that far from the flashback. She is desperate my man don’t hate someone because they have been cornered too far. That’s a shallow way of thinking
DarkHound right she legit had a reason
is it weird that i noticed Sawyer's skin color is the same as Ham at the back
I had "Luffy's fierce attack" was playing in my head. Probably because that track always gave me more of a pirates of the caribbean vibe, which was way more appropriate for that scene imo. Overtaken is always a classic though.
Great review man... 🙃🤙🏾👊🏾
It’s crazy how how in previous chapter in flash back Kaido pointed out a traitor but in this chapter he was clueless
"When you're at sea, *YOU FIGHT PIRATES."*
*TO BE CONTINUED*
Thank you sawyer, love your reviews man.
0:45 perfect law impression
Those final 2 pages... The three of them meeting again after the incident at Shabaody Archipelago. So nostalgic!!
First time in my One Piece life that I had my own theory and it turned out to be correct. LoL
I figured it had to be someone amount the 4 of Momo, Kinemon, Raizo, Kanjuro.
01:01 what do you mean week by week
Most people predicted Kanjuro to be the traitor because he was seemingly the scabbard we know the least about, but almost everyone (including me) didn't pay any attention to the tons of hints pointing out towards Kanjuro being the traitor.
Marco's a GOAT!
FINALLY BRO!! SO LONG!! BUT A GOOD WAIT HAPPY TO SEE YOUR SAFE!!
Thats some good ink because it was raining right so wont the drawing melt from the rain?
Damn, Luffy looked skinny in this chapter, for the small glances we get of him. I hope it's just for this chapter though. I really would like to see Luffy actually gaining muscle as the series goes on, like Wano was portraying.
It’s the panel. The image of him is tiny. He was buffed 90% of the time in Wano. I don’t think Oda is gonna forget that suddenly.
Sawyer can you also read & review Samurai 8 The Tale of Hachimaruden?
Thank you for amplifying the enjoyment of the chapters.
