Born in the Southside of the Bluestown Chicago in 1951, Tino Gonzales, grew up with the sounds of Latin, Blues, R & B, Jazz, and Soul. All have contributed to his musical foundations. Having served his apprenticeship with a wide range of blues, pop and jazz greats he eventually set off on his solo career in 1985.
His music encompasses all of his varied cultural and musical influences resulting in a unique sound that can not easily be labeled in terms of conventional categories - but if one had to sum it up in one word it would have to be passion!
Don’s Tunes is about the music. It’s about the sound. It’s about the real thing.

Wisps of smoke surround my tired shoulders as I hunch over a drink at the end of the day. The bar is far from being empty, but it’s silent in my corner as I attempt to wash away the day. Dons tunes keep me company as the night settles in and my spirits are lifted. I’ll make another day.
