    I always like the "Poor Man's ..." stuff, with only a few extras the car easily hits 100k€, if you go all-out, even 150k. If that's the definition of poor, then I want to be poor :D But of course I understand that it's a bit of a joke, and compared to an EQS it's a bit more affordable of course.
    Anyway, thanks for all your work, you are really unique in the EV TH-camr World.

    I just had vacation in Switzerland which meant doing 1000 km each way from the harbor in northern Germany (I live in Sweden).
    First run down took 10:35 h. Second run took 9:42 of active driving, according to the car. That was a Golf Diesel which can go about 900 km on one tank, and I had to stop each way for a few hours to get some sleep. Total trip time was both ways around 13-14 hours. Had I been in an electric car I would have used the charging time for sleeping, making up for the time "lost" due to charging.
    I don't really understand this argument of needing 1000 km range of an EV.. 3 hours of boring highway driving should IMO be the goal, then I can easily go for 30-40 min break. Seems like the safest option anyway.
    Oh, and great job @Björn Nyland for having the energy to do these trips so often. I don't know how you do it 🥇

    • @yurikorobeinikov2195
      @yurikorobeinikov2195 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Same here! Whenever I drive long distances - have to stop every 2-2,5 hours to go pee or get some snack. Especially if I am travelling with my family - need to take brakes

      @@yurikorobeinikov2195 Exactly.
      If you have a family I can only imagine the in-car wars that would break out of going 9+ hours non stop in a car.

      When an EV can do 1000 km on one charge, the goal post will move to 2000 km. Some people will come up with any reason to hate on EVs.

    It's in German's DNA, they know how to build luxurious and comfortable cars ... at a high cost. They are not there yet for the efficiency. It is in this area that you can measure how far is Tesla. Fast and efficient affordable cars . Still a long way to go for Germans manufacturers.

    Just test drove EQE yesterday. First thing I've noticed was how poor the front visibility is. The dash is way too high and a pillars are huge as well. It is almost claustrophobic. I feel like no one mentions it. Interior quality was very very nice though.

Model Y is way better value for money. It also has better range, lower consumption and charges faster. But EQE is of course more comfortable and quieter. But we're talking about at least 2x the price. EQE also has less space than Model Y (banana box test coming soon).

      @@pegefounder premium has to do with better interior materials, a more comfortable ride and a descent amount of QA to avoid embarrasing things like huge panel gaps.
      Huge panel gaps by the way is not just cosmetic. They tell you that the producer uses way too high tolerances when building the cars (in order to save time and money) and if they reason that way when it comes to the chassi you can be sure they reason the same way for the rest of the car, from the engine to the interior. Building cars as fast as you can with this mindset to make more money is the opposite of premium!

    I drove the EQE SUV 500 recently, and have never been so disappointed by any 100k+€ car like this one: 1. Interior space: in the front, it feels like sitting in a Cessna 172, a ridiculously high dashboard, sloping upwards from the doors to the front. Destroy the usual SUV-feeling of sitting above things, here you sit behind the dashboard with limited visibility. Things worsen in the rear: seats are way too short, and steeply sloping. Not even a 14-year-old wanted to sit there. Air suspension can be noisy on poor tarmac/Beton.
